Binance Will Change USDT Deposits & Withdrawals to be ERC20-based

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 04:47 AM PDT

Wow. Binance Will Change USDT to ERC20-based token.

    //This is official article.

    Fellow Binancians,

Binance will suspend USDT deposits and withdrawals for approximately 30 minutes starting at 2019/07/04 08:00 AM (UTC). During this period, all USDT deposit and withdrawal addresses will be changed from OMNI-based addresses to ERC20-based addresses, and will be the default setting going forward. OMNI-based USDT can still be deposited to users' previous OMNI USDT deposit addresses and will be accepted.

Please note: After this update, users will no longer be able to withdraw OMNI-based USDT.

    Thanks for your support!

    Binance Team

Conviction voting is a novel decision-making process that funds proposals based on the aggregated preference of community members, expressed continuously. It can sidestep sybil attacks, provide collusion resistance, and mitigate many of the attack vectors of time-boxed voting mechanisms.

    Ethereum Based Decentralized Social Media

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 07:03 PM PDT

I read the Decentralized Social Media guide below and thought it is pretty neat and useful but will like to have more confidence in the technology by asking guys around here.. thanks. One well-known example is Ethereum's Minds Social Media.

Key benefits: Democratic governance, No censorship and Data Ownership. I don't think any other Social Media provides those for its users. You need not worry about your information being sold to advertisers. Looks great, but is there any disadvantage to it?

    5-transaction build-up!

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 09:49 AM PDT

In my Metamask I'm having transactions not go through after 5 days despite that I'm sending gas that should make them confirm in seconds.

    https://etherscan.io/address/0xA230a1c91C640dA7A947C23a889a3bD68A171915

I've tried paying for them to cancel. There's 5+ stuck right now and 3 of them I clicked to cancel and even still none have canceled. My best guess is that my wallet is waiting for earlier transactions to confirm before allowing me to send further ones?

Can someone take a quick click and see if they have any idea what's up? Obviously, a modest bounty is involved so I can learn from this and go about my way supporting the Ethereum network!

Noob question about Proof of Stake - what is the main mechanism to prevent rollbacks/reorganisation

    Posted: 03 Jul 2019 03:31 AM PDT

    Hi,

After the Binance hack of it was discussed if it would be feasible to reorganize the blockchain, find a consortium of miners that would start mining again from the block number before the theft happened.

It was concluded that it's not possible or too complicated, the economics(mining costs too high) would not work and risks are too high.

In a future scenario of Proof of stake, what is the main mechanism to prevent rollbacks or reorganizations of the blockchain.

Would a Binance hack of Ethereum be easier to roll back?

    Thank you for your answers

Governments and citizens alike want to know how Facebook—or any corporate entity entrusted with user data and privacy—can be trusted with the responsibility and power of developing and maintaining a cryptocurrency. On July 16-17th, the US Senate and House will hold hearings on Libra and what it might mean from a regulatory perspective. Join ConsenSys Academy after the hearings on July 17 at 2PM EDT for analysis of the developments, and a deep dive into just what Libra is, how it fits in to the broader blockchain ecosystem, and what it could mean for the global economy.
