To everyone owning at least 1 BTC Posted: 02 Jul 2019 09:41 AM PDT Keep in mind that you are really lucky! Owning one BTC might me enough to pay for a house one day or even to be completely financial independent. I don't even own a quater of a btc and I'm a student and at least 2 more years to go until I get my bachelor degree. I try to accumulate as much as I can but my student job just pays for food and rent. I'm afraid I will never own one whole BTC because of the next bull market. I think that owning one Bitcoin is the goal of almost everyone in this subreddit and you already achieved it! And to everyone who's still accumulating, I wish you good luck and hope you will achieve the goal you set yourself! Have a wonderful day everyone! [link] [comments]

(Showerthought) Bitcoin will eventually win. Posted: 02 Jul 2019 06:59 PM PDT "Our world isn't built for Vampires to rule it." At least that's what I remember the quote from a 2009 movie called Daybreakers where everyone in the world was a vampire and thus had to build their society to block out the sun. Yet no matter how much they tried to block out the sun, every day it kept shining. It only takes one mess for a vampire to get caught in the sun's ray and turned into ash. All the humans had to do was wait it out, the world would eventually become human once again. Bitcoin's the sun. And everything else are vampires. It only takes one fuck up from any corner of society to get a person to switch away from the norm if something tragic happens to them. Bank won't let you open a bank account? Credit card billed you a surprise fee? Loan not approved? Your government collapse? Freedom's taken away? Mugged at gun point? Cops take your cash when they pulled you over? Your home raided and police stole your savings in a shoe box? Can't send money to who you want, where you want, when you want? All Bitcoin has to do is wait. When something tragic happens to a person, they'll take actions to prevent the next tragedy from happening in their lives. If the value of currency they use vanishes, they'll turn to Bitcoin. Once a person learns that no one can take away your bitcoin from you (except for a 5 dollar wrench, heh) they'll come on over and play. [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Jul 2019 11:36 PM PDT I've read conflicting information about how anonymous bitcoin is. Some experts saying its not for criminals as every transaction is recorded it makes it far more transparent than even cash thus deterring criminals from using it. I've also read that with the use of cold storage vpns and mining directly to a wallet you can purchase things with Bitcoin and remain totally anonymous. Which is it? [link] [comments]

Understanding the license for futures on Bakkt, ErisX, and Omni LedgerX Posted: 03 Jul 2019 03:13 AM PDT I'm wondering if anyone here has heard anything from good news sources or lawyers interpretations of the regulations. Basically I am seeing multiple news outlet saying that the 'nature' of the license given to Omni LedgerX would prevent them from allowing margin . I even see conflicting information about Bakkt offering margin and I thought they said they wouldn't. Now I read a very specific article saying that ErisX filed a no action releif clause on their license which means they aren't scrutinized for margin requirements....and they won't have to worry about it because...they aren't offering margin. Frankly this is just nonsense. It's egregious that the US market had to wait so long for this crap, and now you have all of them offering futures with 0 margin. It's disgraceful and defeats the purpose of derivatives entirely. The rest of the world can trade proper btc derivatives. Now you have this crap from the US, and even the british who are almost as bad or worse than us threatening to ban btc derivatives for retail all together. It's absolute crap. I would love to hear some news or specific interpretations of the recent license granted to ErisX and LedgerX. The fact that they or at least one of them isn't going to offer leverage at ALL. Is completely egregious. [link] [comments] |
