    Bitcoin above $13,000!

    Posted: 26 Jun 2019 09:25 AM PDT

    Truth be told, this isnt the best entry point for no-coiners new to the sub to start buying into crypto for the first time so please exercise caution.

    Posted: 26 Jun 2019 09:48 AM PDT

    Remember the ATH's back in Dec 2017 and the way this sub ballooned in subscriptions.

    After the crash there were many that appeared to have made first investments in and around that period and were badly rekkt.

    Many posts were of quite bitter sentiment and resentment towards crypto afterwards.

    To be fair, no "be cautious" posts ever seemed to be upvoted. Lets admit it, when bags are pumping the last thing that will get upvoted is be careful if you're thinking about pumping them some more.

    So here's an attempt this time round, it will most likely gain little traction but its an attempt at least.

    The amount of money that has flowed in to crypto recently can just as quickly flow back out again, so please don't wind up getting caught out by the tide.

    Crypto is here forever so no need for FOMO, stay a while and have fun learning that's something that the market can never take away from you.

    Bitcoin is not the money fairy. It isn't a magic dollar printer (lol tether). Don't put yourself into debt on a gamble or investment. Ever. Markets are volatile. All your money can turn into nothing overnight at the hands of a few big players.

    That said. If you sell based on a few hours worth of price action, you're in the wrong market with those weak hands.

    BUY THE DIP.

    Cypherium[CPH] and an interview with co-author of Hotstuff consensus algorithm

    Posted: 27 Jun 2019 01:12 AM PDT

    The recent announcement of Facebook's Libra using the "Hotstuff" consensus algorithm spurred my interest and I have taken a look into the algorithm itself and other projects which use it.

    One such coin I found is called Cypherium(CPH) which appears to be lightyears ahead of many other coins in this space as it is launching next month and will be business-ready from day 1. according to their website, Cypherium is a highly scalable and robust smart contract platform. Our hybrid design features a joint Proof-of-Work (PoW) and HotStuff (Byzantine Fault Tolerance) consensus mechanism that can achieve up to 6500tps without sharding and with instant finality (no sharding and instant finality this is huge btw).

    The above claims is amazing but you get these claims from many other coins which are not close to productionizing yet. So why did this coin catch my interest you ask? Well for starters:

    • Cypherium is one of only 40 (not all of them unique blockchains) which have been validated by the AWS team to go on the AWS marketplace;
    • One of only 25 projects vetted and validated by IBM as an enterprise-grade blockchain solution and has been placed in IBM's PartnerWorld showcase ;
    • Cypherium was a key participant in the US Faster Payments Council which is huge as the council consists of big names with the likes of Visa, Mastercard, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Walmart and Goldman Sachs just to name a few; and
    • The company consists of cream-of-the-crop engineers, hailing from various heavyweight companies such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft to name a few.

    The project has several things going for it, it is expected to be ready-to-use at launch and has laid the groundworks for effective big name partnerships, starting with the likes of Amazon and IBM.

    What tipped me off about the existance of this project was the following article on medium, where the author interviewed Maofan Yin (a co-author of the Hotstuff consensus algoritm) and has gained the attention of another one of the creators of Hotstuff - Dahlia Malkhi, who tweeted about the project (although in fairness, she was naming 1 of 4 projects utilizing hotstuff but good to see its on her radar)

    I will be keeping a close eye on this project as it launches next month, and if the conditions are right, it may be worth buying in. As with all investments, please DYOR - I am just writing what I found as it looks to me like another "sleeping giant" but it is up to you to verify the facts.

    Coinbase Craziness?

    Posted: 26 Jun 2019 01:52 PM PDT

    Is anyone else's Coinbase account going crazy? Mine sent me alerts that BTC was over 13K, then plummeted to around 11K then up again and then down again. I tried to buy some at 11K and an error occurred stating something about a bad gateway.

    Just wondering if it's me or Coinbase going nuts.

    No I don't keep much money on the exchange. (Not your keys, not your crypto)

    Watching matrix part 2

    Posted: 26 Jun 2019 05:05 PM PDT

    Ok so long story short, I think I started this bullrun by watching the matrix. When bitcoin was at 3100 I watched the matrix and next day the run started. Every time I've watched it since then I'm the price just skyrockets. You can look at my previous post when I said I was going to watch the matrix again, next day we hit almost 14k. Tonight will be the first night I watch matrix reloaded.
