Where can I contribute to buy Andreas Antonopoulos a decent microphone? Posted: 08 Jun 2019 09:53 PM PDT That laptop microphone makes many of the more informative videos disturbing to listen to. Its like listening to the guy in the bathroom stall next to me talking on the phone. I'll really give a decent amount if I knew it would make a difference. [link] [comments]

Stayed in a youth hostel, people still don't even know what Bitcoin is Posted: 08 Jun 2019 11:54 AM PDT I'm actually suprised. We were 4 people on the table. Girl from Canada (24)=No idea. Guy from AU (22)=Heard of it before but he doesn't know anything about it. Guy from Germany (25)=Never heard of it before. I tried to explain but they didn't understand. [link] [comments]

*Stupid Question* Selling for a loss Posted: 09 Jun 2019 02:52 AM PDT Let's say I buy $25 worth of BTC and later sell it for a loss of $19. Do I have to worry about taxes at all? I'm pretty new when it comes to this stuff and I haven't really found an answer that made sense to me. Based in the US. [link] [comments]
Hyperbitcoinization - Explore the future Posted: 09 Jun 2019 12:40 AM PDT Assume that it's some time in the future where hyperbitcoinization has previously occurred. BTC is the only form of money being used globally by all people, businesses, machines, etc. Explain an activity required by society and how it works after hyperbitcoinization. E.g. Banking (Trade Finance, Custody), Taxes, Public Services (Infrastructure, Education, Healthcare, etc.), Operating Charities and NGOs, Justice (Investigations, Judgements, Penalties), Military, Transport, Work, etc. [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jun 2019 05:20 PM PDT Hi everyone - I'm newer to hodling and am using the Cash app to buy. I also see comments about "not your keys not your coins", and want to better understand what this means as well as whether or not I'm doing it right with Cash App. To me it's been working great, but are the coins really mine? Someone more knowledgeable please help! [link] [comments]

How do pools coordinate their miners so that no one wastes work? Posted: 08 Jun 2019 12:02 PM PDT Hello, I am trying to understand how a pool operator makes sure that miners do not check the same nonce and hence waste time and work. In my head I have the following analogy: I have a bookshelf with 30 books. One of the books has a $10 bill (the reward). A friend and I are checking each book. If we just check the books at random, my friend could check a book I have already opened. So it would be best to coordinate: I start from the left end, he starts from the right end. And we save time. Is there any such coordination by pool operators, or does every miner check nonces at random? Is there latency in communicating the coordination, or is it something that is set once and forever? If so, what happens when new miners join the pool or old one's leave the pool? Thanks a lot in advance! [link] [comments]
