    Desktop wallet for Linux

    Posted: 11 May 2019 11:21 AM PDT

I'm looking for a good desktop wallet. I'm used to be working with Parity, but I cannot connect to the service anymore. When running the daemon (http://127.0.0.1:8181/#/home), I get

Used HTTP Method is not allowed. POST or OPTIONS is required

Then I tried Mist. But you cannot import a wallet from seed there, so that isn't an option either.

    Help with choosing right wallet

    Posted: 11 May 2019 10:50 AM PDT

I have a ledger nano s and I don't trust MEW anymore. It works one day out of 10 on Chrome, and apparently it's been compromised a few times in the past. I know technically my holdings are safe on a hardware wallet, but still, I don't trust MEW with being just able to.... work. It never works. Someday I'll need to move coins and it won't work, I can't have that.

Is there a web or desktop wallet somewhere that's not clunky, gives me access to my numerous tokens as well (unlike Ledger Live, which is ETH only), and works well with the ledger nano s?

Since I have a hardware wallet I don't need a "core" wallet, I just need an interface that works and successfully connects with the ledger 100% of the time.

    Thanks!

Are all public addresses already generated? Or do you need to generate your private key to create your public address?

    Posted: 11 May 2019 03:49 PM PDT

I'm wondering if all and every public address

    1. already exist on the blockchain

    2. or if they only appear on the blockchain when the private key is generated.

    3. Or if they only appear on the blockchain when a unit is sent to the address.

    Many thanks.

Feedback on "Powered By Ethereum" logo?

    Posted: 11 May 2019 08:40 PM PDT

In response to this thread and /u/DCinvestor: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/bnd5xw/i_hate_going_to_project_sites_and_seeing_no/

I am not a designer, but like to believe I have a keen eye for clean design. Images were PSed together using stuff I found on Google image search. Thought behind the gold logo is that it 1. catches your eye and stands out much better than grey/black, and 2. reinforces the idea that Ethereum is the "gold standard"

Would anyone stake during Phases 0, 1?

    Posted: 11 May 2019 06:57 AM PDT

If I understand correctly, to stake during Phase 0, 1 you have to exchange your mainnet 1.x eth to 2.0 eth. Problems I see with it:

    1. During this time 1.x eth has immediate value but 2.0 eth has not.

    2. There is risk phase 2 won't even be delivered.

    3. Those who do not stake get to keep their balances on both chains at the moment of Phase 2 launch.

    4. Even though there definitely will be some people who will stake, would there be enough people? There are requirements for minimum number of stakers.

Please reassure me Phase 0 will launch smoothly. Corrections are very welcome.
