Binance hot wallet hacked - 7000 BTC stolen Posted: 07 May 2019 05:47 PM PDT https://binance.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360028031711 Very initial report suggests it only impacted their hot wallet (2% of holdings) and has now been contained, and will be covered by the "SAFU Fund" (presumably that means Binance). Not your keys, not your coins - custodial exchanges need to move to non-custodial models, even if they remain centralised in other aspects. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 May 2019 07:01 PM PDT The decentralized web. I saw when I registered my .eth domain (super cool btw) that one option is to point to bzz:// which is how you reference a resource in Swarm I found out. But I can't find any recent information about Swarm. Is the project discontinued or dormant? If not, where can I find up to date info? [link] [comments]

Ethereum produces ~400 more blocks daily since the HF. Posted: 07 May 2019 07:16 AM PDT https://etherscan.io/chart/blocks According to this blocks chart, we can see a + 300-500 daily block increase since the last month's Constantinople hard fork. Number of blocks had an average daily number of 6 000 since 2017 (not including the two ice-age affected time periods), the last month's average was 6 400. I'm happy about it, but can someone explain the reason of it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 May 2019 05:47 AM PDT Hey everyone! My name is Srdjan and I'm the CEO of Kriptomat, a regulated crypto exchange from Estonia. I've always really loved building new projects and solutions, and my latest obsession has been with Ethereum and ERC1155 tokens. Our exchange has been collaborating with Enjin for the past couple of months, and we saw a great opportunity to give something back to the community in order to help it grow and mature. So today I'm very happy to present our new project: a user-friendly minting portal for ERC1155 assets! I have prepared an introductory tutorial video that explains the platform in a fair amount of detail. Please see the video below and check out our announcement blog post. You can also pre-register for a beta of the platform. ►YouTube tutorial video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92RqShZI9dw ►Announcement blog post: https://kriptomat.io/platform/kriptomat-minting-portal-announcement/ ►Pre-register for beta: https://mint.kriptomat.io/#preregister **\* I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback. I will also gladly answer any of your questions! What kind of functionalities would you like to see added? [link] [comments]

Is an ERC-20 token unique? Or is it just a unit? Posted: 07 May 2019 03:33 AM PDT I haven't enough technical knowledge to answer this question or to find the answer online. What I'm wondering is regarding fungibility of ERC-20 tokens. Is an ERC-20 tokens a unique unit, that you can trace and that its possessor could specifically choose to transfer? Or is completely fungible and once it's with other same tokens on an address, it just becomes part of a sum, in other words it's just a unit? English is not my native language so sorry if this isn't clear. Let me give you an example: A bank note of $10 is unique: it's worth $10 and can be easily replaced, but it has a unique serial number. Paypal shows me my balance: it has $ 100. It's not made out of certain bank notes, it's just $ 100. If I spend $10, then 10 units will be taken of my balance. But each dollar on the server doesn't have a unique code and a unique serial number. How should we consider an ERC20 token regarding those two examples (ignore the decentralization aspect here)? It is just a unit on an public address or is it a particular unit that can be specifically traced? Hope my question is clear enough. Sorry if it isn't. Edit: Many thanks for your awesome answer, it is much more clear now! [link] [comments]
New Ether Loans dapp: Please give your comments and suggestions Posted: 07 May 2019 01:02 PM PDT Hi everyone, thank you for the discussion last week about my Ether Loans idea. Your comments helped me a lot. With the DAI Stability Fee at 19.5%, there should be a way for people to offer their own interest rate when lending or borrowing ETH. Please provide your response to the following website, which describes and exemplifies Ether Loans: https://DappRunner.com/EtherLoans.php This website includes a Loan Simulator, which allows you to see the Results after changing the Loan Parameters. Please also click the 3 links under EXAMPLES, which changes the Loan Simulator's parameters to exemplify several usages of Ether Loans. [link] [comments]
How long does it take to be selected to propose a block in Ethereum 2.0? Posted: 07 May 2019 12:10 PM PDT I'm trying to figure out how often rewards come in when staking ether. Lets say I have 32 eth staked, how long should I expect to wait before seeing my first reward? How many rewards can I expect to receive in a year? From my understanding these rewards should add up to the ethereum 2.0 interest rate on my stake. [link] [comments] |
