[Altcoin Discussion] Thursday, May 02, 2019

    Posted: 01 May 2019 09:05 PM PDT

Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

Where does the money comes from in margin trading ?

    Posted: 02 May 2019 09:15 AM PDT

Let's suppose only 2 players in market

    A buys(long) 1 btc @1000 10x lev = $10000

    A sells(short) 1 btc @2000 10x lev = $20000

    B buys(long) 1 btc @2000 10x lev = $20000

    A's ROE = 500% = $5000

B only puts $2000 of its "real" money in market then where is the rest of $2000 coming from ?

    $5000-$1000(A's real money) = $4000 - $2000(B's money)= $2000(who's money is this ?)

We are building an exchange for Derivatives Contracts based in Cryptocurrency and want your thoughts.

    Posted: 01 May 2019 09:05 PM PDT

Hey Reddit, my name is Chandler Freeman, I'm the founder of The Grand Exchange and I wanted to get your thoughts on our upcoming platform. The Grand Exchange is a Derivatives Contract Market with positions and accounts based entirely in Cryptocurrency. These contracts will be created, exchanged, and entered into between users, with our order book acting as an open marketplace for users to find contracts that suit their interests. Initially, contracts on the platform will likely resemble binary options contracts on stock prices, weather, etc. but our available contract types are limited only by legal and technical restrictions. Our initial platform will be an app for iOS and Android, eventually expanded out to web as well.

I'd love to hear what you all have to say about the platform, and I'd be happy to answer any questions for you. We have a subreddit open at r/TheGrandExchange and our website is at https://www.thegrandexchange.co. Thanks!
