Any product/services that offer incentives for paying via crypto?

    Posted: 08 May 2019 12:25 AM PDT

With credit/PayPal fees being as high as they are, I'd assume that retailers would love a cheaper option. Often 2.9% + 30 cents of each transaction goes straight to the processor.

It seems that companies very rarely do this (maybe they're unaware?).

The only one I could find was TorGuard VPN which accepts almost all of the top 30 MC coins + more.

Also found out by asking support that they offer 50% OFF lifetime for paying via crypto if you use the code: CRYPTO50

I love the level of TG's adoption. Any other similar businesses?

CZ mentioned something about a ROLLBACK on the bitcoin network during live AMA?!?

The hack may be worse than Binance is letting on.

If CZ is capable of covering the stolen 40 million USD of bitcoin with the Safu fund, then why is he and the team at binance considering a rollback? No shill, no fud, please try to push factual discussion..

My question is mainly in the title, and I would be most grateful if we could have real conversation from real reddit detectives.

If you are going to make an outlandish claim, then please, by all means, try to have it backed by evidence.

That is all. Let's get the discussion started.

EDIT: Looks like CZ decided not to move forward with the rollback.

BTC premium on Bitfinex at $280 (~5%), widespread reports of people unable to withdraw fiat from the platform.

    Posted: 07 May 2019 11:18 AM PDT

Bitcoin reserves in Bitfinex's cold wallet have also dropped precipitously from 120K BTC to 77K (-36%). If stats on total crypto on the platform were available it would likely be much greater.

Mt. Gox showed similar signs prior to its collapse in November of 2013. Keep in mind the hack was over two years prior in June 2011, so things can look normal for a long time until they're suddenly not. It's possible that Bitfinex can continue in its current state for years, at a deficit, so long as sources of cash like the recent IEO are available.

Binance + Bitfinex + Tether + Withdrawals closed = What is going on? Let's investigate!

    Posted: 08 May 2019 03:08 AM PDT

    Hello, dear people of cryptoreddit,

I have come to the conclusion that some shady things are happening right now and I want you to help me understand what is going on because I am stuck and can't move on by myself. I'll do a little recap for everyone to be able to understand this a little better.

Bitfinex printed a lot of tether and was accused by regulators that Tether is not backed by USD ( which is true as we now know - only about 75% of tether is backed by USD). Suddenly there are a lot of people on Bitfinex unable to withdraw fiat currencies. There is a huge premium for people trying to withdraw money in BTC and there seems to be no way of lowering the spread (BTC on Bitfinex now 6100 USD - rest of the world around 5800 USD).

Suddenly there comes binance - Binance held a large portion of Tether (About 700 million) and last week they were sending tether left and right and no one knew why. They now hold 600 million and have no flag (Binance tag) at rich list adress. And now this - hack of 7000 BTC and withdrawals are now closed for a week (Why a week? Why not until everything is secured) and also there are news that same happened few months back with a similar amount of BTC.

It is also worth mentioning that CZ acts very suspiciously - he obviously knows there is no way of reorganizing the blockchain of BTC and yet he calls for it. This is in my opinion just PR stunt for the general public to create an illusion of money being stolen rather than moved, yet it is hard to believe that CZ has no knowledge of BTC or Blockchain at this point.

removing the possibility of withdrawals seems like a crucial aspect of this problem. Now it seems that there is something going on and i can't understand what it is - where are the profits and why these exchanges do what the do?

Can anyone please help me with this pursue of what is going on and come with relevant information?Or am I just too delusional from spending too much time with crypto?
