What's the long-term plan fee-wise? 1sat/byte forever? or? Posted: 12 May 2019 05:20 PM PDT Hola bitcoiners, I hold both BTC and BCH. I'm a developer, I'm actually developing something using BCH blockchain right now. But I want to ask... Every in r/btc brags about the fees being lower on BCH, and they are right, the fees are lower than BTC. For sure. But the blockspace is also larger and the usage is lower. What will happen when the usage exceeds 32MB and some people start paying 2 or 3 sat/byte instead of 1? Will we increase the blocksize to 64MB? When should we increase the blocksize again and how should we decide what to increase it to? My next question is given that blocks are not full yet, perhaps 1sat/byte is actually too high? Can we reduce minimum fee to 1sat/10byte for example? Why or why not? Thanks everyone! I like how much the developers post on r/btc and congratulations on Schnorr. [link] [comments]
Calin Culianu appreciation thread Posted: 12 May 2019 06:02 AM PDT I want to take a moment to thank and publicly acknowledge Calin for the amazing work he's doing on the Electron Cash project. Want to know why the Cash Shuffle user experience is so slick? Calin. Want to know why we have iOS Electron Cash? Calin. I could list a bunch more examples. I get way too much credit for how well things are going in EC. Calin is responsible for 90%+ of the code commits in the last 6-12 months. An underrated beast of a developer, and BCH is lucky to have him :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 May 2019 08:01 PM PDT I've previously posted asking how much difference CashShuffle makes, given that spending patterns could often show who claimed each output. But perhaps this was missing the point? Perhaps a better way to think about CashShuffle is not that it tries to make my future transactions "anonymous", but that it tries to remove any "tainted history" from my coins? People will still be able to see where my coins go when they leave my wallet, but they won't be able to reasonably accuse my coins of being "criminal coins" (with a transaction history involving drugs, or terrorism or whatever). Even if some of my coins were once used for such things, they will now be sufficiently mixed and diluted with other coins that the nefarious history is effectively cleared away. So if someone says "why bother with CashShuffle?", could the best answer be "because shuffled coins can always be accepted with confidence, whereas unshuffled coins may have stigma from their past history." Any thoughts? [link] [comments]

Chaintip shows the true power of Bitcoin Cash Posted: 12 May 2019 09:06 AM PDT I've had my chaintip setup for a while but I had kinda got out of the habit of tipping. In the past week I received a few tips via chaintip and figured I should tip them back out, so I started tipping out my chaintip wallet. Watching the transaction zero-conf in near real time and seeing the recipient receive the transaction and notification is extremely compelling. Bitcoin has had tipping for a long time but the ability to have everything working like clockwork on the blockchain itself is simply incredible and truly "non-custodial" unlike those other payment methods. How can I import an ElectronCash wallet seed into another wallet app, like Bitcoin.com’s? Posted: 12 May 2019 05:49 PM PDT I have the 12 word seed phrase of course, but it seems to be incompatible with the 12 words the Bitcoin.com wallet wants and recognizes. or do I need to change a derivation setting, instead of m/44/0/0 I think it's defaulted at? Any expert help on this stuff would be much appreciated, and tipped ;) [link] [comments]
