    It's almost ready!

In the last two weeks, a gap has opened in the amount of transactions on the BCH network in comparison to Litecoin, Dogecoin, and Dash. Today there are more transactions on the BCH network than the other three networks combined. Keep it up!

Even if BCH was 1000x better and 1000x more used than BTC, the market would not instantly register this fact despite the winner being obvious. It was always like this.

I have seen Bitcoin price behaving irrationally so many times thorough history, I lost count after the 10th time.

The market will catch up to the reality after a (relatively) very long delay, as usual.

We just have to work hard to make Bitcoin(Cash) the best Bitcoin there is, then wait and hope for out better future comes one day.

Tell me about the technicals of Bitcoin Cash

    Posted: 13 May 2019 06:35 PM PDT

I'm interested in learning more about Bitcoin Cash. I know it came to existence as a result of a fork from the Bitcoin cryptocurrency, and also many of its advantages.

I have to make the disclaimer that even though I might ask some questions that could be normaly used to criticize Bitcoin Cash, I'm not in any way trying to offend anyone. The other sub (you know which), being an echo chamber, made me come here to really discuss and study Bitcoin and its development.

Now that I have started to use Bitcoin Cash, I want to learn how it compares technically to Bitcoin beyond "the low fees" and the 8 MB blocksize. For example:

    • Who decides and implement changes to the protocol?

    • Will it implement more privacy features in the future? (I have used CashShuffle and I love it!)

    • Will it implement smart contracts, SegWit or second layer applications? What about a second layer scaling solution?

    • What will happen if the blocksize is not enough and the fees start to rise? Will the blocksize be increased again?

    • How do you respond to the claim that Bitcoin Cash is a centralized currency and that the decisions are made by a group of people? What about it being a fork and the fact that developers didn't have to do "a lot of work" themselves?

    • Who is Roger Ver and why do people that support Bitcoin don't like him? What role does he play in the Bitcoin Cash community?

Any other thing that you can add, if you feel that it will be useful, insightful or just interesting to know, please tell me!

I love this community so far and I'm more than happy to be here knowing that I can ask these questions freely! Thank you!

Cash shuffled for a while, total cost for 30 shuffles: 0.000081 BCH (0.03USD)

    Posted: 13 May 2019 03:45 PM PDT

I've left the Electron Cash client running for a couple of days and nights and got a descent amount of shuffles done. Everything runs fully automatic, the client shuffles one after another of the existing addresses until everything is shuffled once. Still some coins to go until that wallet is done but just wanted to share the experience for interested users who haven't tried it yet.

A single shuffle has a cost of 0.00000270 BCH or 1/10 of a US cent.

30 shuffles costs a total 0.000081 BCH or around 0.03 USD in tx fees.

When shuffling is enabled, the wallet gives you detailed statistics of which addresses have been shuffled already, how many of your coins have already been shuffled, how many are in the process of shuffling etc. You can chose to spend only shuffled coins, or unshuffled coins. The amount of UTXO's that have been generated are shown as well.

You can set a minimum and maximum amount you want as a result of shuffling to avoid having a big address being split up into lots of tiny amounts for example, or to do the opposite and make sure that your coins are split up into small amounts. Don't forget though to check this value when opening your client to make sure it hasn't been resetted to the default values.

Overall this works very well and tracking my coins should become significantly more annoying for interested parties. By defining specific min and max values you can split up adresses with big amounts easily into handy portions of BCH.

    Disadvantages of shuffling are:

Your coins are being split up into a lot of adresses. If you do a big purchase, you will have to pay a higher tx fee because of the increased amount of inputs.

Your transaction history becomes quite long. In the Electron Cash client your shuffles are marked in a different color than the rest. Other wallets don't recognise shuffles though (yet) so if you want to track specific transactions while you are shuffling, that might become tricky. Better to turn shuffling on and off manually before and after you expect other transactions to occur.

Overall the benefits overweight the disadvantages by far in my opinion. If I send someone a few mBCH to show them how it works, I don't want the receipient to see how many BCH I have in my wallet. These splits make it far more difficult for the normal user to figure out how much I have.

I can also watch SV nodes trying to connect - I do ban all of them asap.

... better be safe then sorry.
