PSA: BTC not working so great? Bitcoin upgraded in 2017. The upgraded Bitcoin is called BCH. There's still time to upgrade!

    Posted: 30 May 2019 02:54 PM PDT

In summer 2017 Bitcoin performed a hard fork upgrade to bigger blocks and a soft fork upgrade to Segwit.

Suffice to say we can see how that's all turning out.

BCH works like Bitcoin always worked and was upgraded like we were promised it would be from the beginning.

Ways to trigger a BTC maximalist: Remind them that because they didn't increase the block size, fees will eventually climb to dumb levels again. This will put brakes on it's bull trend, and funnel cash into alts instead.

The flak is always heaviest over the target. If you’re noticing constant attacks coming at you from all sides, chances are you’re closer to success than you may think. Keep going, you’re almost there.

    Let's give local.bitcoin.com a kickstart!

    Posted: 30 May 2019 05:43 PM PDT

    It's

    • like the old localbitcoins.com, with pricing relative to an index, finding offers in your area, but better, since the wallet is noncustodial, and it is for Bitcoin Cash

    • like bisq, with arbitration, but better, since it runs lightly and lazily in your browser, and it is for Bitcoin Cash

    • like Mycelium Local Trader, with end to end encrypted messages, and it is for Bitcoin Cash

Register now, stuff your wallet (if selling BCH), and erect an offer! Trading starts 4th of June, 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square uprising for freedom.

Meep: A Bitcoin Cash Script Debugger

    Posted: 30 May 2019 07:17 PM PDT

In October 2010 Satoshi proposed a hard fork block size upgrade. This proposed upgrade was a fundamental factor in many people's decision to invest, myself included. BCH implemented this upgrade. BTC did not.

    Posted: 30 May 2019 09:48 PM PDT

If you're wondering why BTC has high fees and unpredictable confirmations, consider this: BCH implemented the hard fork capacity upgrade recommended by Satoshi and currently has over an order of magnitude more capacity than BTC.

So BCH works the way Bitcoin worked from 2009-2016 when the blocks started getting full. BCH works the way Bitcoin was always meant to work: with low fees, fast reliable confirmations, and blocks that get bigger as the economy grows.

BCH is the upgraded Bitcoin we were promised from the beginning.

    Just Unsubscribed r/Bitcoin

    Posted: 30 May 2019 12:34 PM PDT

Of course each of my accounts has been banned there for well over a year and a half now... but I still popped in occasionally to read what was going on. Well let me tell you what's goin on there for a year and a half?: NOTHING!

(oh wait my bad... there is one thing: Lightning network is almost ready)

Of course most of you know these things already.

    So, today I unsubscribed.

Now I won't to see the thread of bitcoin obituaries and buy the dip memes ever again. I won't have to hear about how u/memorydealers is a criminal and how he lost debates to Tone Vays. Yah, I want to live in reality and never dip my toe in that mental cesspool again.

    GOOD FUCKING RIDDANCE!!

Bitcoin Cash Meetups From Around the World added to FindBitcoinCash

With much help and assistance from Monica over in the BCA Discord, the Bitcoin Cash Meetups from Around the world have been added to findbitcoin.cash.

The goal in adding these meetups is to help those who may have found a BCH wallet, but not know much about BCH be able to learn how to sweep their BCH and hopefully find a community near them where they can learn more.

Excited to have this done! If there are any meetups missing that you want added, please let us know and it'll be on there ASAP!

    Now, Findbitcoin.cash will have:

    - Hidden wallets - the geocaching treasure hunt

    - Physical Merchants - spend the treasures you find

    - Online merchants, because we had to find a way to include these friends of ours too

    - meetups - learn more about those treasures!

    - Still to come - will add ATMS

21e5 satoshi (BCH) reward: Find oldest Ricardian contract on the BTC/BCH blockchain!

    Posted: 30 May 2019 01:26 PM PDT

I'd like to find out what is the oldest known Ricardian contract [1,2] on the BTC or BCH blockchain.

Since I can't seem to be able to easily determine this myself (scant examples in literature & old contracts could be encrypted so that only the people involved know), I'm launching a competition with a reward for 2.1 million satoshi (in BCH) for the person who provides verifiable evidence of the oldest recorded contract by Friday next week.

    Terms of this reward competition:

    • at least the contract hash, alternatively the full contract, has to be on the BTC or BCH blockchain

    • if only a hash is stored, then a humanly readable form verifiably corresponding to the hash needs to be presented somewhere (e.g. as a file download from a safe source such as a Github repository, gist or some other site)

    • only contracts older than 2019-01-01 00:00 UTC (timestamp of block in which it or its hash was stored) and involving at least two parties

    • contracts with me (@btcfork) do not qualify ;-p

    • entrants need to provide all the information needed to verify that the contract was stored as claimed

    • bounty winner will be determined from entries submitted before Fri 7 June, 2019 00:00 UTC

    • submissions here or in the Twitter thread [3] or Memo thread [4]

    • winner must publish a BCH address to receive the reward, or receive it via the tippr bot in this thread

    Happy hunting!

    Whats the point of Flowee?

    Posted: 31 May 2019 02:04 AM PDT

Refuting the "low median tx value" shill narrative: An asian company named "BLITZ" is using BCH Blockchain to store massive amounts of price ticker data, therefore huge part of BCH transactions are tiny.

    Posted: 30 May 2019 10:03 AM PDT

Why are they doing it? Because Bitcoin Cash Blockchain is the only Blockchain that is cheap and usable enough.

Also the BCH community is not going to call legitimate, fee-paying transactions "spam" like BTC or LTC communities.

    Darknet markets and BCH?

    Posted: 30 May 2019 11:49 AM PDT

mods remove this if it's against the rules

I'm not very knowledgeable about the inner workings of crytpo but I'm seeing more hate against BTC and thinking it's on the way out. Most markets take BTC but not BCH. Do y'all think any will add BCH options for payment soon or in the future?
