Guys Ripple does not have a permissioned and private blockchain right?

    Posted: 15 Apr 2019 07:26 AM PDT

I'm doing some research on Ripple and XRP.

    According to Coindesk https://www.coindesk.com/information/what-is-the-difference-between-open-and-permissioned-blockchains

Ripple runs a permissioned blockchain. But I checked the website and they say anyone can be a UNL (validator) and anyone can access the blockchain. Isn't that what permissionless is?

And is it a private blockchain? I know banks are supposed to use it and they have private information but is it really a private blockchain? Please tell me why guys.
