Over the last years, numerous crypto projects have failed to deliver on their roadmap. While many big companies are making strides toward fully implementing blockchain-based technology, there is still a long way to go.

South Korea's Exchange Audit Debacle - Only 30% Passed out of 21 - KIMCHI BEWARE

An audit took place between Sept and Dec 2018. Of which only Gopax, Korbit, Coinone, Upbit, and others (bithumb) passed to allow Korean Won Desposits. 14 Failed.

There's been many hacks occuring lately and despite the yearn for DEX solutions, these centralized exchanges are here to stay. But this is without a doubt a concern for ICO's trying to raise a buck with their full ban and draconian laws.

South Korea should loosen the grip on crypto industry - Vitalik Buterin

It's calimed by lawmakers that the Financial Services Commission, has taken an unduly conservative stance toward easing regulation of the sector. But it's after a string of ponzi busts came about and lots of naughty behaviour.

Bithumb, Upbit, Korbit and Coinone have begun to come together to share 'real-time' wallet information on any suspicious activity linked to phishing attempts and pyramid schemes.

    https://i.redd.it/5poqgpnn8lr21.png

This is a good step for the handful of permitted exchanges. And also, for projects that have managed to list there

    MY TAKE:

It really bothers me seeing harsh regulation but it's coming without a doubt. I'm sure in the US things are pretty difficult too as I'm from the east.

Though I feel that these exchanges are in a very good position as they are working close with the government to ensure regulation of this industry, unlike those that flee to Malta *cough *cough <Binance>

Jokes, I do respect Binance and how fast they've grown. But I also hold deep respect to the projects that still remain in Korea.

Take Fantom's incredible rise in the past months, to AERGO, who made very strikingly careful moves to have listed in all of these exchanges (KORBIT, GOPAX, and now UPBIT) (excluding Bithumb).

Though they have a strong foundation with Blocko's deployment with big enterprise (Samsung, Hyundai Kia, Lotte, Korean Exchange, Central Bank). Now news of disclosing working with Credit Suisse for some time. ICON has it's own mass list of MOU's and roots too with the government with theLOOP.

All in all.. I feel that Korea has only a handful of exchanges, and a handful of projects which are in the safe zone with government and enterprise endorsement in Korea.

But I'd like to sign of with a question on what other countries are doing:

Singapore is a little more lax with Project Ubin and their pilot sandbox environment for blockchain companies. I wonder if they're going to crack the whip soon enough, as I feel asian countries are just beginning to do so along with western exchanges and regulation on cryptocurrencies.

2019 will be an interesting year, more so if you place your bets right.

Will post my sources in comment
