The end user doesn’t care about the chain a given app is running on. They expect it to all just work seamlessly and token conversions to be simple. For the first time, a new unified wallet is enabling one-click conversions while keeping the users in control of their funds & private keys.

The Bulls have been back for the past several months ...

I have been tracking my crypto portfolio + crypto equities (Hive + Galaxy Digital Holdings etc.), and above is the portfolio performance since Dec 29th 2018. I had cashed out a portion of my portfolio early in 2018 and decided to accumulate tail end of December 2018. It certainly supports the recent statements by /u/ScienceGuy9489 and /u/ethhodlr that we are in a bull market. If you are interested in building your own tracker in google sheets / you can use:

    Example:

    + for stocks =googlefinance("CVE:HIVE","price")

+ for crypto =VALUE(REGEXEXTRACT(IMPORTDATA("https://min-api.cryptocompare.com/data/price?fsym=ETH&tsyms=USD"), "{.+:(.+)}")) // Google Sheets allow API calls

+ To get fancy 7 day / 30 day charts in google sheets (notice today() - 7) :

    =SPARKLINE(googlefinance("CVE:HIVE","price",TODAY()-7,TODAY()))

Worth Saving Those Old CryptoKitties For A Rainy Day?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2019 09:49 PM PDT

I had some pretty good success back when CryptoKitties was all the rage. Making Ethereum daily was a pretty easy task in the hight of it.
Obviously that didn't last too long and I am stuck with about 20 Gen 1 and Gen 2 Kitties sitting on that account.

I did try selling for cheap a long time ago, with no success (which was understandable)

But Now with the Samsung S10 supposedly having CryptoKitties integrated into the platform, do you think there is a possibility that these old cats make a come back when the DApp is available on all Samsung devices?

Right now, I think only a couple of Countries can get the blockchain wallet from Samsung. I know my S10 did not come with it. But if it gets wide spread adoption, I wonder if the Kitties could eventually be worth something again?

Got 1000$ stolen out of my btc markets account

    Posted: 31 Mar 2019 10:53 PM PDT

Hey reddit, today I got 1000$ taken from my btc market account, I am not sure how this was possible,. I noticed an email saying a withdrawal of x amount of btc had occurred and while refreshing my page the email was deleted and then removed from trash. I then logged into my btcmarkets account and noticed 1. The password had not been changed, 2.2fa verification was still on and they had pretty much emptied all my account or had my coins all sold. Can someone tell me how this could have occurred?

Need to confirm something with you guys who know about taxes....

    Posted: 31 Mar 2019 03:01 PM PDT

I know if you sell your crypto to USD, it's a taxable event.

I know if you trade your crypto for another crypto, it's a taxable event.

I know if you get a dividend from a crypto, like KCS, it's taxable. (not 100% sure about this, but pretty sure)

Now my question is, lets say every time I buy BTC (as an example $100 worth), I trade the BTC for "x" crypto. I know it's taxable, but I trade immediately after purchasing the BTC, and the "x" crypto is also worth $100 after the trade. Then no gains or losses happened, right?

It would mean I owe no tax on that trade, and also realized no loss? (Until I of course trade that "x" crypto for another crypto or USD).

Might be a stupid question, I just want confirmation, pretty sure it works like that. Also, this might help others if they have any questions.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Will there ever be a better speculative investment that btc?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2019 06:33 PM PDT

I've been reflecting on the wild ride that Bitcoin has been on lately and how it fits in with other times where speculation blew investments to insane proportions. Obviously there was the dotcom era and then there is Bitcoin, do you think that there will ever be a craze like these again? In my opinion the cannabis market has resembled these on a very, very small scale but I'm talking about large scale.
