    I'm glad that I'm banned from r/bitcoin

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 10:05 PM PDT

It actually helped me to let go of muh lambo delusions and made me go back to the REAL BITCOIN according to the white paper: full nodes are not required for everyone, moore's law, low fees and spv wallets). That is BITCOIN CASH - BCH.

But if they did allow debates without banning I would still switch to BCH because it's the real bitcoin that actually works. God bless this sub.

Vin Armani’s BCH Destination Challenge: Focus on Peer-to-Peer Cash

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 06:17 PM PDT

    https://coinspice.io/podcast/vin-armanis-bch-destination-challenge-focus-on-peer-to-peer-cash/

TL;DR: CoinText co-founder Vin Armani returns to the CoinSpice Podcast to flesh out his ideas regarding projects such as BlockUpload. He's challenging the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) community to stay focused on peer-to-peer digital cash in light of limited resources and the race for greater adoption. Peter Ryan, executive producer for the documentary Riqzi Presents: Blockchain, is a repeat guest as well, challenging Armani to better understand distinctions and nuances of the argument. It's an urgent and vital discussion. This episode is available embedded in the article below, and on YouTube, iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Radio Public, Breaker, PocketCasts, PodBean, and Overcast.

If BCH become the most popular crypto what is the plan to prevent "Blockstream" attack from happening again?

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 03:01 PM PDT

r/bitcoin subreddit was a very successful tool that was used against Bitcoin. Online troll farms are becoming more popular and more professional than ever. How BCH would defend against social media attacks that would divide the community, spread confusion, harass developers, speakers etc.?

IMO that is the most effective and super cost-efficient attack on Bitcoin that you could perform. It already worked and caused BTC/BCH split.

How do you see global currency that future development and crucial decisions depend on social media? How do you discern bad actors and measure real users/investors/merchants preferences about the way that BCH should evolve?

Being right in markets versus being right in accounting/engineering

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 11:15 PM PDT

In the same way that Tesla's shady accounting doesn't effect it's stock price, the shady engineering in Bitcoin Core doesn't effect it's price.

The engineering of BTC vs BCH must be debated for those who haven't worked with big data and networking, and in the world of investing and asset price discovery, flawed "price makes right" arguments are often thrown around. The logic is something like the market thinks Core's engineering is top notch, usually phrased like "Well the market thinks LN is a viable L2" or "there are plenty of software engineers that think it will work".

The problem with these type of arguments is they assume the market knows how to do engineering or that engineers somehow make better traders. I can tell you quite confidently that understanding what hash functions are and how TCP works does not help me trade Bitcoin, quite the opposite actually. People have their reasons. Markets are more about feelings than facts. Being ahead of the curve by 2 years is the same as being 100% wrong.

But these days, instead of making me angry(because the market is irrational), the emotional thinking of core holders is starting to make me chuckle. At the next bottom(I'm thinking $220 at the moment), buying BTC will present you with a certain upside and BCH another. The chance of being right about the timing will be identical(e.g. a 60% chance to correctly predict the next bottom) but the upside will be 2x vs 1.25x, so why would anyone buy BTC at the bottom if "price makes right".

Are all the new market entrants going to give a crap about the name "Bitcoin" or are they going to do a bit of research and find that one side can't answer basic questions about the lightning network while they sacrifice 50% because "decentralization"?

TA is the only tool being used in crypto, TA is supposed to be asset agnostic. But, for some reason the top TA shills continually make value judgements about the underlying assets. You better not trade that assending triangle in BCH because it's a "shitcoin". Do you think Tone Vays is dumb enough to trade BTC and let an extra 50% upside go because it's a "shitcoin"?

Do you think the wisest traders are afraid of BCH at this point because of a potential hash attack?

All that is why "price makes right" arguments are weak. First, they assume the market is rational, and second, they crumble the moment a bull market begins. If the market was truly rational, BCH would rise to BTC's value the moment the bottom is in. The fact that it doesn't proves that many BTC holders are still not thinking rationally. The extra risk of a hash attack does not justify a value at 5% of BTC and the market will trend that way for the next 1 to 3 years.

BCH $500 or BTC $6k first? I think BCH at $450 when BTC hits $6k at this moment.

    Hi tere,

Just tried to send 0.001 (about $5) and the fee was $2.47 (101sat/byte)?

    That's almost 50%.

Thing is, they only accept BTC. :(

Edit: OK. 69 sat/byte now but still...

Spreading BCH to the next generation!

    Posted: 11 Apr 2019 07:28 AM PDT

I volunteer to teach an A+ certification class at a high school. I took a break this week to teach them about cryptocurrency and blockchain. Since they all had smartphones I made them (with no help from me) install a Bitcoin Cash wallet. They sent me a payment address and I sent them all 5 USD worth of BCH. They then sent transactions to each other. The class was very excited and the wallets were all user friendly, they didn't need any help to figure it out. One of them asked why I was using Bitcoin Cash instead of Bitcoin. I pointed out that the transactions they were doing would be almost one dollar each with Bitcoin instead of the less than a penny with BCH. The comment was "Why would anyone use Bitcoin then?".
