Posted: 14 Apr 2019 06:18 AM PDT Crisis has worsened. Caracas has electricity 24/7, the rest of the country has between 21 and 18h per day. Zulia state only has electricity 6h per day. Monthly minimum wage (Here in Venezuela a lot of people earn minimum wage) is 18,000 Bs. per month (One USD is around 3,500 Bs. fixed by the goverment and 4,500 Bs. street rate) that is like 80,000 satoshis. With my work and some extra money I almost have to pay for all the expenses of my parents, if not, they would starve. I'm living here BTW. https://coin.dance/volume/localbitcoins/VES/BTC https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2016-venezuela-cafe-con-leche-index/ Some people dont believe the MONTHLY minimum wage is around 5 USD, here is some proof: You can see the minium wage here : 18.000 BS. per month And the official exchange rate is 3,302.24 BS. Per USD. https://www.france24.com/en/20190128-venezuela-devalues-currency-align-it-with-black-market You can see here is wages, a minister "should" earn just 36,000 Bs. per month which is less than 10 USD https://www.costadelsolfm.net/2019/01/16/nueva-tabla-salarial-administracion-publica-enero-2019-obreros-empleados-y-altos-funcionarios/ [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Apr 2019 12:08 AM PDT For the longest time me and my dad have said stuff like "$5 if you do this" and random bets like that. Just a fun thing to do at a boring family event or something like that. Recently my Dad owed me some money, and I jokingly said he could pay me in BTC. Since he uses cashapp for a debit card and we talk about it sometimes, he offered to send me my $20 via Bitcoin. Don't know why but I thought this was cool. If my Dad can manage to send me some coin, anyone can. Shoutout to Square for creating a good product too. Makes it really accessible. [link] [comments]
Hyperbitcoinization Soon? Nations, Pensions, UHNWIs, etc. Posted: 14 Apr 2019 08:33 PM PDT If you haven't read it, here's the original article on Hyperbitcoinization. Here's recent speculation that Russia was going to buy $10bn in Bitcoin in 2019: Here's news about the legal framework that opens up France's 2.5trln life insurance market to crypto assets. Earlier this month there was speculation that a "mystery" entity purchased $100mln of Bitcoin and pushed the price up $1000 in a few hours. That's "just" $100mln. $10bn is 100x that. So--arguably--a $10bn buy by ANY ENTITY is likely to spike the price by at least one order of magnitude above its current rate. Maybe more. Obviously $10bn is a lot of money. But it isn't that much for a major entity like a nation state or a pension or a life insurance plan. There are even a few ultra high net worth individuals who might consider throwing a cool billion into Bitcoin (Richard Branson and Jack Dorsey come to mind). Will any of this happen? I don't know. I hope so, but I don't know. What I do know is that there are a lot of pieces on the table that look like they could fit together into something rather extraordinary. I feel like we're sitting on a rocket-shaped powder keg the size of the global economy and people keep throwing matches at it... sooner or later it just might light up, and then we'll have a rather memorable liftoff. Agree? Disagree? Why? edit: maths [link] [comments]

Databases of centralized exchanges are being hacked, KYC data is leaking Posted: 14 Apr 2019 05:26 PM PDT I noticed that the database of a big exchange is being sold on black markets. Can't confirm if it's fake or not. The exchange in question is collecting KYC data (for all of it's users), it's a big "licensed" exchange. Also, users of some cryptocurrency exchanges are complaining that they receive targeted crypocurrency related spam and the most likely cause of this is the stolen database of their exchange. This is why most people prefer non-KYC exchanges (which collect only email addresses). It's better to use unique e-mail address (or alias) for every cryptocurrency exchange in order to know which exchange's DB was hacked and abused to spam the users. Check your email addresses here: haveibeenpwned.com They have BTC-E's DB with emails. Also, Bitcointalk. Thank FSM they don't have KYC data for most of the users. But if you signed up to BTC-E or Bitcointalk with your public email address, now the whole world know that you have account there. Including your tax authority. They will be very interested in this matter. Don't reuse your email addresses! [link] [comments]

Noob question about brain wallet. Posted: 15 Apr 2019 02:05 AM PDT Hi guys. I wonder can I use a brain wallet generator to create HD BTC wallet? I mean with really strong password (for example 19 characters, non dictionary, upper&lower case + symbols). A really unique, that I never use in other sites or software. http://piccy.info/view3/13112216/6f0d720c7f4a8132aeb7bfb2203a8fca/ P.S. I just enter the similar password to mine on that website). Question on Sending Bitcoin and Change Addresses Posted: 14 Apr 2019 09:06 PM PDT Hey all, I have a question on sending bitcoin and change address. Looked for answers on google or bitcointalk but with no avail. Say if I run a service that requires me to send bitcoin in sort of high frequency, e.g. bitcoin casino, exchange, mining pool, etc. Will I ever run into a case where I could not send bitcoin out due to funds still stuck in unconfirmed change addresses. E.g. I have 1BTC balance, and I'm processing a 0.2 BTC pay-out to a user (say the transaction output is 0.2 BTC to the user and 0.8 BTC to my return address). Because of the 0.8 BTC is still an unconfirmed transaction, I can't pay other users even when the amount they requested is <0.8 BTC. This is a hypothetical scenario with an oversimplified UTXO construct, but how does online casinos, exchanges, mining pools, fix this problem of potentially not being able to make payouts because a majority of their funds are stuck in change address pending to be confirmed on the blockchain? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
