A Plea from a BTC OG

    Hey Folks .

Marshall Long here. For those of you who don't know me.
    TLDR
    Mining since 2010
Started Bitcoin Classic (which became ABC overtime)(Had many others who helped me too ofc)
Seen all kinds of crap in crypto (worked for Cryptsy before the CEO stole all the money, etc.)
Seen great things (BTC bring some of my friends out of venezuela two years ago)

This sub has come a long way from when I was a moderator. It used to be constant Core bashing. Now it's a mix of great content and core bashing. A step forward for sure.
However, at this point I think the projects are so far apart from each other that there really is no point in putting any energy into core or SV bashing. Additionally, it distracts from the entire point of what we are trying to achieve.

At the end of the day, BTC BCH LTC whatever, we are all about taking back the tools to create our financial sovereignty. That is all that matters The more we focus on bashing other camps, the more Jamie Dimon wins.

BANKS ARE PONZI SCHEMES RUN BY MORONS! And we cant forget that. And this is coming from a guy who wasted damn near a year of his life trying to convince people to simply change the blocksize from 1MB to 2MB.

Don't lose sight of the real enemy here.

    Together in Freedom!

If HODLing is "using Bitcoin" then buying a AAA battery and keeping it in a drawer is "using" the battery

    Posted: 02 Mar 2019 10:14 PM PST

If I bought a battery and put it away for later, I would never claim I was "using" the battery. The battery represents a potential to do work. The battery could fail, get stolen, or maybe by the time I decide I want to use it, batteries have become obsolete altogether.

The actual use of the battery is when I take it out of the drawer and put it somewhere that it will perform actual work for me. When the battery is consumed, we say it's "spent."

HODL coins are like a battery. They represent an action potential. The money has not been "used" until it is performing work.

TLDR hodling is not using money. Saving money is speculating on its future use /utility.

    We've reached the bargaining phase.

    Posted: 03 Mar 2019 01:07 AM PST

Core side is getting nervous. Posting and commenting here (example here, claims to be a OG), urging us about how we should focus on the "real" enemy: banks, not Bitcoin Core, ie the forces that has hijacked and sabotaged the Bitcoin movement and turned it into a useless Bitconnect scheme.

Since when is banks our enemy? Banks bring a valuable service to savers and loan takers and is totally voluntary. Bitcoin was not meant as an attack on banks, but on the system of corrupt FIAT money being created out of thin air by unaccountable central banks and given to those in power at the expense of regular savers. Private businesses are free to do what they want, they are not our enemies.

Anyway I find it interesting that they've turned from ignoring, then ridiculing to now bargaining with r/btc. Feeling bullish.

Do BTC proponents have the Stockholm syndrome?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2019 12:23 AM PST

Not moving Bitcoin is super useful and super valuable to me.

    ...

How is keeping savings in bitcoin not using it?

    ....

I'd say you don't have to move bitcoin around to use it because it's an asset that contributes to wealth management. I don't use my stocks, they just sit there.

    ...

yup, goldbugs moving tons of gold all the time, thats also the reason why most countries have tons of gold in anothers country vault /s

    ...

Instead of being questioning or at least acknowledging the shortcomings of Bitcoin Core-Segwit-RBF-coin, many BTC:ers perform incredible mental gymnastics to support their holdings.

BTC should be renamed Rai Stones so that people stop confusing it with Bitcoin - A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.

Case study in r/Bitcoin deception: Shills falsely claim that Thailand banned BCH

    Posted: 02 Mar 2019 06:23 AM PST

Here is the non-participation link to the misleading thread which moderators of r/Bitcoin have not labeled or removed for the last 18 hours despite it being utterly false information.

    https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/aw8nz1/thailands_sec_approves_bitcoin_bans_bitcoin_cash/

Those who want to really inform themselves on issues regarding Bitcoin should not take headlines in /r/Bitcoin or elsewhere at face value. There are large amounts of disinformation shills active in that censored subreddit, but also in other places - even on this sub since speech is free here.

Their activities are to discredit this subreddit, it's users and Bitcoin Cash.

Equip yourselves with the truth and let's keep making Bitcoin cash everywhere people would like to enjoy financial sovereignty.

To the moderators of that censored sub: Letting such false information spread unchallenged under the umbrella of your censorship shows your extreme bias. You are unfit in any way to represent the Bitcoin I love.

I created a meme page to support Bitcoin Cash.

    Posted: 02 Mar 2019 11:33 PM PST

I was an editor at Anarchyball for a couple of weeks. While i was there i picked up some neato memeing skills. I already have a successful meme page, which i created a few weeks ago (Anarcho-Altruist Ball), which has already accrued close to 2000 likes. I have no doubt that my new page, Bitcoin Cash Memes For Economically Literate Teens will pick up its pace like my last meme page. I just created it today, and I've got a week's worth of slammers lined up. I was hoping to come here to build a following, gain support, and possibly find some people that would be interested in helping me make memes and moderate the page (if anyone is interested). All id ask is that you meme good 😎

    Here's a link to my page: https://www.facebook.com/Bitcoin-Cash-Memes-For-Economically-Literate-Teens-367734934065395/

You can pm your meme applications or post them below.

"Visa's excessive fees and unfairness cannot continue to go unchecked

Visa says "It is unfair and disappointing that Kroger is putting shoppers in the middle of a business dispute."

Hey Visa, funny you mention the word middle, because we want less middle men not more,

We do not need middle men from here on out
