Posted: 26 Feb 2019 07:21 AM PST Hello, does anyone know what the algorithm is called that cryptocoin wallets use to generate a key by using words? And how secure is it compared to PBKDF2, argon2 or Scrypt? Somehow they must be able to provide a good amount of security without entropy other than the words provided. If I compare that to what I know about other KDFs, using them without a salt is not that secure, but the only way for them to be repeatedly produce the same output. So how does that work for stateless crypto wallets? [link] [comments] |
