Toast Wallet backups makes no sense to me... Posted: 31 Jan 2019 12:24 PM PST First off, I'm pretty well versed in how to use hardware and client-side desktop wallets, but the recovery mechanism with the toast wallet has me scratching my head. So I'm looking to move my small amount of XRP off exchange; so, in addition to a passphrase and a recovery passphrase, I also have to copy this line of code and store it somewhere on my desktop or phone? Does that sound like a recipe for disaster waiting to happen? Does this data recovery backup allow anyone to access the wallet if they somehow get a hold of it (which is probably not hard to do if someone accesses your PC directly or remotely). Do you need all three to recover your wallet? Sorry for sounding like a dick, this just has me perplexed. It seems like it's way more complex than a desktop wallet should be. Other than that, it looks like a nice, streamlined secure wallet. [link] [comments]

Is there a future for binance/coinbase when wallstreet firms start launching big? Posted: 31 Jan 2019 10:04 AM PST What will happen to the exchanges that offers crypto today such as Binance, coinbase and Bittrex when the ¨wall street players¨ steps in and actually launch their platforms? Do you think that the majority of the people, especially those that doesn´t really understand how crypto works today would prefer to use the bigger stockcompanies exhanges, bakkt/Gemini for obtaining their crypto when these companies have made it easy enough to do so. For now I know Bakkt/ fidelity digital assets/ Gemini is starting of small with just a few digital assets which would be a reason to still go with binance for example but I think that will change further down the road. Have been thinking about it for a while and wanted to see what you guys think! [link] [comments]

What are potentially risk which could stop XRP adoption in the future Posted: 30 Jan 2019 10:47 PM PST For know, it looks like XRP could make the race as cryptocurrency of the future. Only Bitcoin is bigger, but they are starting already to see it more and more as "value storage", the tech behind is making Bitcoin impractical as real currency (slow, fees). And who knows whether second and third layer solutions will be implemented fast enought to solve this problems or whether a more modern, technological better cryptocurrency like XRP will replace BTC. Anyway, Ripple get's more customers for XRP weekly. Customers are even stating how they benefit using XRP. Uncertain regulation is the reason why big player don't join at the moment, but we all know that regulation will follow in the coming years. It looks like adoption is only a matter of time. But maybe i'm watching this through rose-colored glasses. Let's discuss. Edit: grammar. There is even a typo in the title fck me [link] [comments]
