/r/EthDev information / update Posted: 01 Jan 2019 08:09 AM PST Hi everyone, here follows a quick update on the status of /r/EthDev to inform you about our community and what we could mean for you. What is EthDev ?EthDev is an Ethereum developers' community to bridge the gap between beginning Ethereum smart contract developers and the more experienced devs. Our focus lies on Tutorials, Job Hiring / Job Matching, and your still-in-development Projects Job hiringAs of today, 2019, we've changed our usual monthly job-hiring topic into a permanently stickied "Who's hiring, and who's for hire" Megathread, which can be found here. This is for both ways: "developers looking for projects", as "projects looking for developers". Tagging / FlairEach of our topics fall in 4 distinct categories to make them easily retrievable, these are: Tutorials, Questions, Projects and Information Category 1: Tutorials Tutorials can be found through this link, sorted by Best. Category 2: Questions Any question, whether being about Solidity, Ethereum in general, an issue with your (or someone elses) smart contracts, an upcoming conference, ..... is flaired as a "Question". Questions history can be found here Category 3: (My) Project This is all about your projects. If you want to show off your work, looking for feedback, promotion, tag it as "My Project". All projects can be found here Category 4: Information Anything that doesn't fall in the above 3 categories, falls under the general term "Information". These are most often links to articles, bug warnings, etc.... found here ModerationWe currently have a team of 32 moderators. Why this many? Because we accept almost anyone as a moderator. /r/EthDev doesn't belong to anyone but you. So your moderator spot is simply yours to claim (if you do meet our secret but easy-to-expect criteria). So far, 32 people claimed their spot. We expect moderators to behave respectfuly and fairly. Any moderator who gets caught censoring or banning wrongfully gets kicked out of the moderation team. In the past 2 years, we didn't have to ban a single user (bans are limited to proven bots). FeedbackWe are always open to feedback to improve the quality of our community. If anything comes to mind, please let us know. Thank youI'd like to thank each and every one of our 15k+ subscribers for being part of this great community and we'll be doing our best to try and mean more for the Ethereum developers of any skill, in 2019 and beyond. Happy coding! Nooku [link] [comments]

How to Lookup ENS Addresses Associated With My ETH Address? Posted: 01 Jan 2019 04:16 PM PST I bought a bunch of ENS addresses when the service first came out. I now want to release all of them and get my locked-up ETH back. I definitely should have written down the names of the addresses I won, but since it's all publicly trackable on the blockchain and associated with the owner address, I figured it wouldn't be necessary at the time. Anyway, my problem now is that I don't know the names of any of the ENS addresses I own. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

Wait - I thought staking was via smart contract? Why does it matter if I lose internet connection?? Posted: 31 Dec 2018 11:47 PM PST So another post today asked about losing internet would slash the rewards. I thought this was in the old version of staking? In the new version I thought you deposit into the beacon chain smart contract and then it does the work for you. Why does my computer's internet connection matter? Can someone explain a little? Is the new smart contract and beacon chain require me running a node connected to the internet?? [link] [comments] |
