extracting private keys from ledger seed words Posted: 01 Dec 2018 04:49 PM PST I'm trying to help a friend recover his EOS tokens and while he understands the process, its begins with needing your private key. he is using a ledger and while there is a tool that supposedly does this https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ we can't seem to get it to work. he puts his seed words in and choose ETH for the coin, but none of the values presented match his public ETH address. we know this because we search for the last 4 characters of his public ETH address and there is zero results found. This issue is getting beat to death in the EOS sub and its not even really an EOS issue at this stage. Does anyone know how to find your ETH private keys from 24 word ledger seed to take to the scatter plug in for EOS token recovery? edit: yes we understand typing your seed into websites is dangerous. he moved everything to an exchange except the stranded ERC20 EOS tokens thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Dec 2018 11:29 AM PST Hey guys!. I'm an student at the Engineering University of Buenos Aires (aka FIUBA) and one of the classes i took this year currently has a final assignment which requires me to interview a dev on the language i choose. We've made the project on Solidity, we've explained what is it and how it works, why would you use it, etc. And, guess what, we're missing the final piece!, which you're right, is to interview someone who's currently working as a solidity dev, or at least uses it pretty much every day. So if i could get hold of anyone here who's willing to help me in this assignment and interested in having a brief Q&A i'd be very glad to interview. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Dec 2018 12:53 PM PST According to this article the ERC20 token standard have bugs and disadvantages resulting in thousands of ERC20 tokens to be lost annually. These design mistakes has been addressed in the new ERC223 token which is fully compatible with ERC20 wallets and exchanges. "When transferring tokens for a contract with "transferFrom" this transaction is basically valid. However, the contract does not recognize it by the user, resulting in the tokens not being loaded into your account. Normally, an emergency token function is stored in the exchange contract (decentralized). If this is not the case, the tokens can not be returned and are lost forever." Do you guys think that ERC223 standard is a solution to this problem? [link] [comments]
