Why the AZTEC protocol is one of the best things to ever happen to Ethereum.

    Posted: 06 Dec 2018 05:14 PM PST

    • Confidential transaction of ANY ERC-20 token.

    • It also enables the construction of purely confidential assets that don't have any kind of ERC-20 token equivalent.

    • For the first time ever, it's possible to create confidential digital assets on Ethereum, obtaining the immutability and decentralization benefits of public blockchains without sacrificing privacy.

    • AZTEC zero-knowledge proofs are also very efficient to construct, and are well within the capabilities of hardware wallets.

    • A confidential decentralized exchange, where people can trade different AZTEC assets in complete confidentiality — neither the quantities or prices of orders can be gleaned from processed orders

    • Confidential weighted voting. Governance mechanics that respect the privacy of a user's vote are essential [for] a large range of financial applications and the AZTEC protocol's efficient range proofs make this achievable.

    • Anonymous identity sharing schemes. Being able to prove that you're part of a group, without revealing who in the group you are is an essential component for many compliance and KYC processes and our AZTEC token standard will support this kind of identity system.

    • Combined together, this will give builders the tools needed to create the next wave of decentralized financial services; digital assets with implicit privacy and confidential governance mechanics built in from the ground up.

The full article is one of the most exciting things I've read in a while.

Any company out there offering enterprise-grade support/maintenance for geth?

    Posted: 06 Dec 2018 01:37 PM PST

In strictly regulated enterprises, like banks for instance, often it is required to have support/maintenance for the software in usage. From the Ethereum community I know that Parity Technologies is offering something like this for parity. Is anything similar existing for geth?

The Race for Assets Under Delegation: Staking-as-a-Service

As many believe the generalized mining industry will be commoditized, we tried to look at the potential differentiators that will help validators win the race for Assets Under Delegation (AUD). Can you think of any others?

Problems to generate address with checksum in

    Posted: 06 Dec 2018 02:38 PM PST

    Hi folks,

    • Address to test: 0x5aaeb6053f3e94c9b9a09f33669435e7ef1beaed
    • Etherscan tells me: 0x5aAeb6053F3E94C9b9A09f33669435E7Ef1BeAed
    • I run my code and i have: 0x5aaeb6053f3E94C9b9A09f33669435E7EF1Beaed
    • i use this as an idea github

SHA3-256 hash from 5aaeb6053f3e94c9b9a09f33669435e7ef1beaed is 05774d8c80b8928f25907556bf50ae82bed82256eea4b0e66fb163f5b86a9a55 processing is:

    5 0 0 true a 5 5 true a 7 7 true e 7 7 true b 4 4 true 6 d 13 false 0 8 8 false 5 c 12 false 3 8 8 false f 0 0 true 3 b 11 false e 8 8 false 9 9 9 false 4 2 2 true c 8 8 false 9 f 15 false b 2 2 true 9 5 5 true a 9 9 false 0 0 0 true 9 7 7 true f 5 5 true 3 5 5 true 3 6 6 true 6 b 11 false 6 f 15 false 9 5 5 true 4 0 0 true 3 a 10 false 5 e 14 false e 8 8 false 7 2 2 true e b 11 false f e 14 false 1 d 13 false b 8 8 false e 2 2 true a 2 2 true e 5 5 true d 6 6 true
