How has Bitcoin's development progress been over the past year? Where are things headed? Posted: 10 Dec 2018 12:56 PM PST Got into crypto early last year and can't help but feel that there's a huge disconnect between Bitcoin's development and the overall community of supporters/adopters/businesses. We hear a lot about Ethereum's roadmap with sharding, staking, scaling etc. Vitalik and the EF are very transparent about where things are headed and they have yearly dev cons as a progress report and to gain support. However over the past two years I almost never hear a peep about what the Core devs are working on or the challenges they face. Is anyone here engaged with Bitcoin's development community and can shed light on what they've been doing? How active are they and is there meaningful progress being made? What are they doing to address scaling or other technical issues? It's a little strange to me that people are so confident that bitcoin is the future of money yet they have no idea if the Core developers are even working on anything worthwhile. [link] [comments] |
