When interacting with SV supporters, please remember... Posted: 07 Dec 2018 08:36 PM PST Being duped doesn't make someone a bad person, or an idiot. It just means that they got duped. There is probably a surprising number of a real people who were just particularly susceptible to the pseudo profound bullshit consistently spewed by CSW. http://journal.sjdm.org/15/15923a/jdm15923a.html The CSW narrative is a tempting one, just like the one pushed by Blockstream. Someone can really, honestly think that they're being critically rational when, in fact, they're not. Given that, there's no need to attack their characters; it just makes things worse. It convinces them that they're on the right side of things, defending it against the evil "other side" that just doesn't get it. That means that we should either engage in an affirming, understanding way, or not at all. I don't doubt that some number of CSW supporting accounts could actually not be genuine people. But it is literally impossible to tell the difference between a brainwashed real person and a paid shill, so please don't try, or bother making accusations. Either engage reasonably and calmly, for the benefit of the other person and those following along with the conversation, or not at all. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] | ||

FR: Bought a beer with BCH last Thursday at Paris meetup Posted: 08 Dec 2018 01:04 AM PST Hey Quick post to give you an update of the BCH meetup we had last Thursday. First, I invite to use a new flag for our subreddit : field report (FR). The idea is to talk about what you have done, real life experience. I always felt that the BCH community was focused on action, since a year now I've tried to do my part here in France @mods: could we please add a Field Report flair? :) About the FR:

Prediction: The BSV endgame is claiming Satoshi's coins on the BSV fork Posted: 07 Dec 2018 10:15 AM PST As Craig has claimed to be Satoshi he will claim that he somehow has the right to those coins. They control the code, so they control the rules. Even at today's low prices the haul would be around $100M ( if they could sell without tanking the price ). My main objection with BSV is not technical, but one of the integrity of the leadership on that project. Craig is a known scam artist and there is no way he will be able to leave that potential gain on the table and he will continue laying the groundwork in the coming months ( Expect a return of the Satoshi claims, etc... ). Gemini - Announcing Bitcoin Cash Support Posted: 07 Dec 2018 07:01 AM PST "Fellow Moonwalkers, We are thrilled to announce support for Bitcoin Cash trading and custody on Gemini. Beginning Saturday, December 8th at 9:30am ET you will be able to deposit Bitcoin Cash into your Gemini account. Trading will begin on Monday, December 10th at 1pm ET. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is the fifth digital asset available on the Gemini platform, joining Bitcoin, Ether, Litecoin, and Zcash. You will be able to trade Bitcoin Cash against all other currencies available on the Gemini platform and you will also be able to participate in daily auctions for BCH/USD. Bitcoin Cash, a fork of the Bitcoin network, was recently forked into two distinct networks and blockchains: Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin SV. At this time, we will only be providing support for the Bitcoin ABC network and we will be referring to it as Bitcoin Cash with ticker: BCH. We have added replay protection to all BCH withdrawals from the Gemini platform to ensure transactions are only valid on the Bitcoin ABC blockchain. Any cryptocurrency sent to Gemini over a blockchain that we do not support, such as Bitcoin SV (BSV), will be invalid and irrecoverable. We are continuing to evaluate Bitcoin SV over the coming weeks or months, and we may or may not choose to support withdrawals and/or trading of Bitcoin SV in the future. We have worked closely with the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYSDFS) to obtain approval to offer Bitcoin Cash trading and custody services for our customers, and we are excited to add this cryptocurrency to the Gemini platform – the world's most regulated cryptocurrency exchange and custodian. Head over to our latest blog post here for more information and come join us as we continue building the future of money. Onward and Upward, Team Gemini" [link] [comments] |
