What to mine, assuming free electricity Posted: 17 Nov 2018 05:43 AM PST Assuming I had free access to electricity, which coins would be suitable candidates for mining? I guess another way of putting the question is - which coin's mining profitability is most sensitive to electricity cost and least sensitive to other factors such as hardware specs? Is there program to start mining on system Idle after X minutes? Posted: 16 Nov 2018 11:36 AM PST I have access to a number of work machines and I'm imagining how much time is wasted at night when these GPU machines are sitting unused. I already talked to the owner and he says he's cool with me mining with these machines if I give him half of the wallet balance. Is there an OS agnostic program/script that will kick the GPU miner program on as soon as the machine has been idle for X amount of minutes? It would also be nice if they kicked off as soon as someone interacts with the machine via peripherals (mouse / keyboard). [link] [comments]

Radeon RX 580 vs Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Posted: 16 Nov 2018 12:54 PM PST Interested in building a mining rig that can dual as a nice gaming PC. Wanted to get an opinion on the graphics card and which would be a better option. The Radeon one is a lot cheaper compared to the 1070 but is the difference in performance as steep as their price difference? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you! [link] [comments]
Is there a platform to automatically mine the most economic coin at the time? Posted: 16 Nov 2018 09:21 AM PST The idea would be that your miner would switch to a different pool as sites like "whattomine.com" update coin stats. This would be based on your preferences of course. Does something like this exist? Is it something that would work? I might start writing this on github.. [link] [comments] |
