Snowflake to Avalanche Protocols Posted: 03 Nov 2018 10:46 AM PDT For the unfamiliar, here's the whitepaper detailing these new metastable consensus protocols https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmUy4jh5mGNZvLkjies1RWM4YuvJh5o2FYopNPVYwrRVGV. I was curious to hear what the community opinions are on these protocols, and if you think Ethereum 2.0 could stand to benefit from them. [link] [comments]

Are all these JSON-RPC commands supported by a light node? Posted: 03 Nov 2018 10:56 AM PDT When I tried to run a Geth light node, because of some disk space constrains, I wasn't able to execute some commands on the server, the problem is I don't recall exactly whether it was because maybe it wasn't fully synced, or maybe because some commands aren't supported in light sync mode. Does anyone know whether the light sync mode supports these commands, or where is that information documented? By the way, I can switch to Parity if it has those commands supported by the light node. Also, I should point out that I'm only interested in retrieving information regarding those wallets managed by the node, not sure if that makes any difference though. [link] [comments]

web3x v1.2.1 - TypeScript port of web3.js released, for type safe contracts and tiny builds. Posted: 03 Nov 2018 01:07 PM PDT Hello. web3x is a port of web3.js to TypeScript with a focus on tiny builds (~160k for most cases), perfect types (including with contracts) and clean modular code. Visit the Github link below to see a beautiful gif of IDE autocompletion. Version 1.2.1 is now feature complete including support for ENS, Swarm and Whisper. More importantly it enables type safe contract interactions with a simple code generator and configuration file. Given a An example of a configuration file to create a DAI contract looks like: Using the generated class with full type safety on method calls and return values/event logs is as simple as: Github (please star): Packages: [link] [comments]
