Thread topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Discussion related to recent events
    • Technical analysis, trading ideas & strategies
    • General questions about altcoins

    Thread guidelines:

    • Be excellent to each other.
    • All regular rules for this subreddit apply, except for number 2. This, and only this, thread is exempt from the requirement that all discussion must relate to bitcoin trading.
    • This is for high quality discussion of altcoins. All shilling or obvious pumping/dumping behavior will result in an immediate one day ban. This is your only warning.
    • No discussion about specific ICOs. Established coins only.

If you're not sure what kind of discussion belongs in this thread, here are some example posts. News, TA, and sentiment analysis are great, too.

What is best USA Tax Software to prep "like-kind" Section1031 forms for 2017?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 04:35 PM PDT

What platform can do the 1031 "like-kind" "crypto-to-crypto" calculations the easiest and export the right forms to file via TurboTax and/or TaxAct? Too many platforms (9 listed below) and who knows what kind of errors and challenges might come up. For example, I heard bitcoin.tax can be buggy and data omissions. (Whether IRS will honor 1031 for 2017 or most likely not, I'm looking for ways to delay having to pay taxes for 2017, at least for another 6-12 months. I used the 6 months extention to push it to Oct 15th deadline so far. If I don't claim 1031 now, then I would have to start on the IRS payment plan in Oct + the penalty + interest for last 6 month.).

    Bear.tax

    Bitcoin.tax

    CoinTaxes.com

    CoinTracking.info

    CoinTracker.io

    CryptoTrader.tax

    LibraTax.com

    TaxToken.io

    TokenTax.us

Long term cross marging long position.

    Posted: 10 Oct 2018 03:49 AM PDT

Ok, I know this isn't the brightest idea, and its incredibly high risk, but I want to start off by saying that I'm willing to lose what I'll invest. But I still feel like a other persons opinion or experience could help me decide if I want to go ahead and do it.

I haven't used bitmex that much, I'm more of a long term hodl kind of person I'm happy with my portfolio, and I have confidence in it. For that reason I have been thinking alot about other long investments I can do, something more high risk.

What I want to do : I want to open a long position with a cross leverage. I was thinking for every 1 dollars I'll have 9 to 15 dollars to back it up. Using the calculation on there website, I would be liquidated at 5k (if I open a position now) so unless another flash crash comes, I think this can net me some great ROI if a good bullrun ever comes.

Has anyone ever done something like this? How was your experience ? Also how would this strategy work with fees ? Since it could stay open for quite some time.
