Bitcoin Trading in Venezuela Surpassed 1,000 in Last Week

    Posted: 08 Oct 2018 07:34 PM PDT

Citing the data from Localbitcoins, Venezuelans converted a total of 1073 BTC ($7.1 million) in the week ending Saturday — the most since records began in 2013.

Traders continue to turn to cryptocurrency in Venezuela to circumvent the government's increasing stranglehold on the economy and rampant hyperinflation which persists despite a currency redenomination in August.

Money that is easy to print loses all value when one appears that is HARD to ban, HARD to print, HARD to confiscate, HARD to censor, HARD to counterfeit. Printing your favorite idols on paper or stamping their heads onto base metals guarantees you NO monetary sovereignty.

I always eye toward a new exciting adjective or verb describing ascent/descent every day. I see not just a modest growth in my vocabulary but I am solidly eyeing the strong moving average convergence divergence ahead.

Why are there so few block explorers supporting segwit addresses? Even blockchain.com still doesn't.

    Posted: 08 Oct 2018 02:34 PM PDT

For anyone who is looking for one as well: btc.com works but it's one of very few.

If you google "Bitcoin Block Explorer" the first 5 results are explorers that don't support segwit addresses. Is that so difficult to implement?

Receiving 1-2 BTC per month - What's the best exchange for Australia?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2018 02:49 AM PDT

I receive 1-2 BTC per month, and I notice Coinbase's fees are higher than other exchanges. What exchange can I sell these bitcoins for the lowest fee? I'm from Australia.

But what is bitcoin. I read a little bit about it but I don't seem to understand fully. Is this something people actually make a profit out of? Or just something to do in your spare time? Reading these posts make me feel like I've been living under a rock for some time
