Which GPU manufacturer offer transferable warranty without needing to provide proof of purchase (a.k.a receipt)?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2018 07:28 AM PDT

I've googled it and there is literally no info other than evga offering transferable warranty via serial number

I've checked manufacturer's website but most of them don't state clearly

some say asus offer transferable warranty and have done warranty via serial number but when I checked asus website they mention proof of purchase is mandatory

so, which GPU manufacturers offer manufacturer warranty without the need to provide proof of purchase (serial number by default)?

also PSU manufacturer lists would be helpful as well

+which GPU / PSU have lowest rma rate?

    Failing to connect to pool

    Posted: 01 Sep 2018 06:04 AM PDT

I have been mining for nearly a year at this point. Everything has been fine.

I have a 12 card rig running on simple miner. I use nanopool. As of last night it is failing to connect to the stratum. It does still connect to simple miner. I have another machine on windows that uses the same port to talk to nanopool and it functions fine.

    What am I missing here?

If more info is needed please ask.

Edit : I did upgrade from 11.7 claymore to 11.9 this morning trying to fix it.

Coin mining vs automatic algo switching

    Posted: 31 Aug 2018 04:02 PM PDT

Has anybody done some tests regarding a single coin mining vs automatic algo switching mining?

For example let's say I want to mine ETH

Is it better to mine directly ETH or use the automatic algo switcher and convert the profits to ETH?

Fried SATA Cable on two PSUs: Are the PSUs still safe to use?

    Posted: 31 Aug 2018 01:59 PM PDT

So, I have a mining rig, and it had two Corsair AX 860 PSUs that ran five GTX1070s. The other day, I find that the sata cable supplying power to the risers fried. It only supplied power to three of the five risers. The other two risers were handled by the other PSU.

I removed the entire PSU from the rig (two PSUs on this rig was overkill). I could run the whole thing with one PSU.

So, I redid the wiring to set up on just one PSU. It's be a couple days, and another sata cable is fried.

Now I've had two PSUs fry cables. They have a self test button and light that shows green when just plugged in.

So, I'm wondering: Are these two power supplies bad now because they fried a cable? Or, can I just avoid the bad modular port on them?

And how could this happen to the same cable on two different PSUs? Is there something wrong with my GPUs, or maybe the risers?
