    Thank you. All of you.

I don't come here often, but I'd like to tell you all a story about an emotional rollercoaster I experienced today.

    >I am a long-time investor in XRP.

    >XRP dipped down into the $.30s today.

    >Finally got scared.

    >Considered selling it all off, before it hits rock-bottom.

    >As a last resort, I checked the sub. Read a few posts, upvoted a few comments.

    >Got motivated.

    >Bought more XRP.

I'd like to thank those who share all of their positive reinforcement with the rest of the sub, and all the optimism that crypto has going for it. You made me remember why I invested in XRP in the first place, which was to support Ripple and the entire blockchain technology as a huge market of the future. For anyone else that is on the fence about selling or holding (I'm sure there are plenty of you), follow my lead. One day, all of our patience and investments will pay off.

    Bittrex adding XRP/Fiat pairing!

Two massive hints that XRP is not a security

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 10:03 AM PDT

The new exchange in san Francisco using XRP as base pair, letting buyers buy with USD. Also Bittrex allowing USD for XRP. Come on fellaz, you think these people don't know what they're doing? These people are closer to SEC than those stupid lawyers who are suing Ripples lol

    Wanting some general advice

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 07:02 PM PDT

    Hey guys,

I've been buying XRP since early this year, when 1 XRP was worth about €2.50. My employment contract was not renewed due to being diagnosed with (a treatable form of) Cancer. The funds I can spend on XRP are very limited right now, but i managed to get up to 400 XRP! Ofcourse the €0,30 / XRP price does make it a bit easier.

Being on a restrictive budget also means looking closely at cheaper alternatives. Normally I'd send €10 or €25 via banktransfer to Coinbase. Then I'd exchange my cash for LTC (Litecoin) which I'd then exchange for XRP (using Changelly) to my Gatehub account.

What are your thoughts on the steps I take? Is there a more cost-efficient path to take?

Also, and this is just paranoia on my end, how trustworthy are online wallets such as Gatehub? What's keeping a wallet hosting company from taking all the contents and closing down? That's what happened with MT. GOX right?

Is spending €50 on second-hand Ledger Nano S worth it?

Just out of curiosity, how many XRP are you guys hoarding? Buying at €0,30 and selling in a few years for €10+ is a smart investment, but how much are you actually spending on it?

The XRP Ledger Is Always Working, So Should We

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 07:54 AM PDT

Seeing all these posts about price action and red numbers, really made me wondering, why is it that you're not trying to do something about it? Or maybe you want to, but don't know how? Maybe some of you have lost hope?

If we really want to break free from BTC and the rest of the cryptocurrency market, we need to stand tall, wipe the dust of our shoulders and lock arms (but leave me in front of my computer please, I'm busy writing code).

    Here's a few quick reminders:

    1. The XRP ledger is always working (Quoting Hodor on this one).

    2. Most XRP developers really don't care about short term price action. We're in it for the long run. The more ambitious projects take months if not years to finish anyway.

Do you think the roadmap for the coming XRP Toolkit ends in 2019? No, it goes on way beyond that.

    https://www.xrpchat.com/topic/25726-ama-xrp-toolkit-project-goals-roadmap/

Do you think the XRP Tip Bot and other community initiatives ends in 2018?

Do you think Ripple's roadmap ends in 2018?

Do you think Coil's roadmap ends in 2018?

Do you think Codius' roadmap ends in 2018?

Do you think Xpring's roadmap and investments ends in 2018?

Do you think SBI's XRP roadmap ends in 2018?

For the long term investors and true hodlers out there, don't get distracted by the current price action. Not now and not later.

Seeing the enormous interest in commenting on posts about price action, I'm wondering if the majority of you are really interested in helping increase the XRP utility and use-cases, or are simply interested in price action and speculation. Your current actions tell me that the latter is the case right now.

How about everytime you see red numbers, you find an XRP developer and give him/her some feedback, you upvote, you share, you comment, you dig deeper and research, you brainstorm new ideas and talk to developers you come across.

We still have a lot to explore, like Codius smart contracts and XRP ledger custom issuances: https://www.xrpchat.com/topic/25774-xrp-toolkit-custom-token-community-poll/

The XRP ledger has tremendous capabilities and we're just getting started. How many of the available transaction types are you seeing used on a large scale? https://developers.ripple.com/transaction-types.html

Do you think JoelKatz and the other XRP ledger developers included them for fun? We're just getting started.

    What a great day!

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 06:01 PM PDT

This is a huge opportunity for anybody to get into ripple! Today I bought in at .32 and couldn't be happier I originally bought at .15 and sold at about $1.00 then got to watch it go to $3 and thought I'd made the biggest mistake. Today randomly I checked prices and saw it in the .30s and couldn't believe it so I put what little money I could financially loose knowing that it will definitely go back up maybe not to $3 at least for a long time but for sure more than .32 lol hope you guys invest now while you can maybe if I'm lucky it will stay low until my next paycheck!

    Australian Crypto - BTC Markets

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 06:33 PM PDT

Any Australians here who use BTC Markets for crypto purchase? Any update on the exchange going down. Why it went down or when deposits/withdrawls will be reinstated? I keep emailing support but no reply.

I'm scared. I had some xrp on the exchange and it crashed. I log into the exchange and it's there but I check the xrp ledger and it says I only have 20 (the reverse - yes this is an activated wallet). Emailed support yesterday and today. Still no reply... wtf?

    Anyone heard an update?

The reason the market is down.

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 02:05 AM PDT

So I wanted to clear up alot of Fear we have going on right now. Especially since we are getting close to early December lows.

It's not Ripple or Xrp that is down, its everything.

The reason most things are down is due to the news that The Official Bitcoin ETF was delayed til September.

I'm not gonna act like I know the specific importance of this, but I can guess many high tier BTC maximulists want to let there money sit in BTC for a whole month when they can spend elsewhere.

Secondly, the reason Xrp is down abit more significantly is apparently due also in part of the BearWhale. This individual has been talked about earlier on when Bearableguy was still a thing.

But basically we assume it was an early investor of XRP who had about 1Billion xrp or so and has slowly been dumping incrementally or strategically.

Last known dump was like a few months back, and I dont think we have a set explanation for why someone would dump so much, when they could make so much😞

Lastly, it's not new news that our Market in crypto is full with weak investors.

A bear market becomes even more eradic and bearish with people rushing to move money out or around to cover their "losses" not understanding the value of holding their wealth.

To them, I say it's their loss.

Now I do have hope. Many of us keep getting our Hopes up. I for one expected May or June to big. Nothing happened.

Then July for SBI, and still nothing yet. Though unlike some, I also understand the value of things goi ng on in the background.

Bitcoin ETF coming soon. Coinbase ETC launch new investors (2 weeks) Coinbase getting assets[40] for Insts. (Xrp) SBI VC (whenever it happens) Swell 2018 An SEC decision (biggest domino) So much more.

We have until now and Dec 31. Tbh, that's my cutoff. If we dont have something good by then in price, I'll say I've lost some hope-- thats just me. But still, I have the most hope that that list (above) will bump this market into realms we haven't seen.

So keep it steady, and let's just make it thru each month as a community. The best community in crypto.

    Thanks!

    Don't dare to sell!

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 12:01 AM PDT

I'm down 70% in red, many of us are. Ask yourself: has something changed about the fundamentals of Ripple and XRP? The answer is NO. The Bitcoin mximalists are feeling their death and push the price down. At this point they don't care anymore about the price of BTC all they care is pushing the price of XRP down. HODL. God bless you and good luck to all of us!

What is the most reliable app/ website to buy XRP?

    Posted: 08 Aug 2018 08:41 AM PDT

I plan on making a long term investment in XRP and want a reliable app that has no possibility of shutting down or losing my investment. I'm on IOS, but I'm willing to use a website too.

Also, Abra has gotten great reviews so if anyone knows anything about that let me know.
