Ethereum History - 2 Years Since The Bitfinex Bail Ins Posted: 05 Aug 2018 05:21 AM PDT This time 2 years ago Bitfinex was hacked. 120,000 BTC were stolen, worth $70M+. Losses were socialised as a 36% haircut & BFX IOU tokens were later issued. Many unaffected accounts were bailed in & many traders lost plenty of ETH to these bail ins. This time last year ETH traded at 250, BTC at 2750 & BCH at 200 after the hard fork first week of Aug 2017. Time flies! Stay tuned for more weekly history lessons. [link] [comments]
unable to use mycrypto to setResolver for new ens domain (Bad Jump Destination) Posted: 05 Aug 2018 05:14 PM PDT here's a link to the documentation: https://kb.myetherwallet.com/ens/setting-the-resolver-for-an-ens-name.html (1) using the default gas limit leads to an out of gas error. (2) doubling the gas limit leads to https://etherscan.io/tx/0xf14af328d1e4632671915aa9033ce2968e881ec4f28d6288698c592d0f063bb9 "Bad Jump Destination" Am I supposed to use the label hash and not the name hash? https://etherscan.io/enslookup?q=colinleath.eth Man, I had no idea this would be that hard-- are most people just running a geth console and typing it at the command line? What am I doing wrong? If there's a better place to ask this, tell me-- thank you- [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Aug 2018 08:46 PM PDT A few months ago I published here about ERC891, an ERC focusing on changing the distribution method of tokens. After looking at the results from CehhCoin, the original implementation, I did the full thing resulting in CehhGold. It was very interesting to see how metatx went live a few days later after the release of CehhGold. I think that the use of signed messages will become a very important part of Ethereum as a platform, and CehhGold leverages specifically on that. The website is a bit memey, but the idea is that as originally planned, CehhGold can be mined asynchronously. This means that once you mine a reward you aren't forced to submit it immediately. This is parallel to having multi-layer mining rewards: the higher the hashrate, the higher the the rewards the miner can find. TL;DR why this matters: new distribution method based on signatures that supports mining. If you have any questions let me know. It's an arguably difficult concept to grasp at first, but once it clicks it's super simple. What is the best mobile wallet? Posted: 05 Aug 2018 08:34 AM PDT I introduce my friends about ETH, and they want to buy some. A problem is that they do not know how to store ETH. As they might not buy a large amount, buying a Ledger Nano S is not appropriate. For a paper wallet, they do not understand it. So, it seems that a mobile wallet on iPhone would be the best choice. As I do not use a mobile wallet, I am not sure if a mobile wallet is safe and which mobile wallet is the best. Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thank you. [link] [comments]
Check Out DeStream Fee Commission Posted: 05 Aug 2018 02:55 PM PDT The platform's commission fee is reduced to 0.77%, which allows streamers to make more income in the process. There are no restrictions in that there are uniform conditions for the making of deposits or withdrawals using the same commission with no regards to the currency or the method used for making deposits. The viewer on the platform chooses a service from the ones provided on the catalog and is directly connected to the streamer. The viewer then pays the donation. He gets the information as to whether the service may be displayed during the gameplay or it be pushed to the next stream. https://destream.io [link] [comments]
Game of math and greed: need help testing on Rinkeby Posted: 05 Aug 2018 05:33 AM PDT I implemented a "guess the 2/3" game on Ethereum blockchain. Even though I know the rules it's so addictive I can't stop playing it. I'm looking for more people to play it, try to break it, before I deploy it to mainnet. The rules are super simple: every player picks a number from 1 to 100. The player who picks a number that is 2/3 of the average of all numbers wins. It is particularly interesting because it can be predicted and manipulated by players. Blockchain seems to be the perfect implementation for it. The url now is www.milmaker.com Every guess is 0.01 ETH. Pm me if you need some ETH on Rinkeby to play. I'm not making the code public yet so it doesn't get stolen. I will make it public when I go live on mainnet. [link] [comments]
