Do layer 2 solutions support smart contract interaction

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:52 PM PDT

I'm a bit confused: do layer 2 solutions like Plasma (Cash), Raiden, Loom Network etc support smart contract interaction or are they only useful for wiring eth/(erc 721) tokens to each other?

So in other words: can you quickly and cheaply send thousands of difficult (non-value) contract calls with L2 OR can you just make lots of fast, cheap eth/token transactions to other users?

PS Bonus points for answers that go deeper into each L2 solution.

We're introducing ethereum.xyz Wallet IDs - Find out more inside!

    Hello r/Ethereum

We are integrating Ethereum on the U.CASH platform in the future. What this means is that our 750,000+ global users will be able to purchase or sell ETH for cash, as well as access advanced functionalities.

U.CASH is building a global network of local and online converters that enables anyone to load up their account with cash, access multiple services, and when complete, cash-out.

The vast majority of our users have never owned any cryptocurrency before and hail mostly from areas such as South/South-East Asia and South America. As such, we have embarked on various initiatives to make using cryptocurrencies easier and more intuitive. One such initiative is our Wallet ID program.

We believe simple, easy to remember and share addresses, are the future of seamless payments. Wallet IDs are subdomains built under the main TLD ethereum.xyz. You can claim yourname.ethereum.xyz and use that to receive payments online or through the U.CASH platform to start. We are developing APIs that can be used by other providers to access the same capability as well. On top of that, multiple other features including domain forwarding, brand building sites and more are planned in the pipeline for Wallet IDs. All Ethereum domains will be enabled on ENS (Ethereum Name Service) in the future for on-chain capabilities.

Other services that U.CASH currently offers is exchange top-ups (currently available for instant loads to C2CX), where after loading up your account with cash, you can the transfer that balance to your exchange account. In the future we will be enabling cash-out from exchanges as well.

The U.CASH mission is to integrate promising cryptocurrencies, global exchanges and financial service providers together with our converter network to provide users with a wide variety of innovative abilities. Wallet IDs are the first step in this integration process.

To find out more about this initiative please visit ethereum.xyz for our teaser informational site. In the future we will build a more comprehensive portal that will be sure to become a great resource for the community.

Pre-register your U.CASH account to be eligible for early access. When registering and verifying your account, you receive some UCASH as a bounty. In many cases this bounty is enough to claim your Wallet ID for free!

If you have any questions please feel free to ask in this thread, join our telegram or send us an email to walletid @ u.cash.

Redefining an industry: why the blockchain community needs a new marketplace

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 07:38 AM PDT

I've spent about a month making this dAPP, but I'd love some feedback from the community. Would you use this? Why or why not?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 10:00 AM PDT

Hey everyone! I've been working for a little over a month now on this small dAPP for my certification course with consensys developer academy. This is a final project to get certified it wasn't supposed to be a live website or anything, but I figured people could actually enjoy using this, and it could be helpful.

Basically the app is very simple, its called Mintable.app and there is a video of me using it below (for people on mobile, its NOT mobile friendly and requires metamask)

After awhile of being the only person to see it, you start to get biased, so I'm asking for feedback on the idea of being able to create, manage, collect, and sell 721s from this app, and also all the other apps. Basically pinterest for 721s. Users add content, and get to browse the latest added content.

Note: Its not complete, some pages are dead, and its NOT very mobile friendly. Also, it requires metamask, so you CAN'T use it on your phone.

So here is a video of me using it as a demo if your on mobile or don't want to use Metamask. https://youtu.be/pshSbD47xaI

What do you think of this dAPP?

    • Would you use this?
    • Do you think you'd like to add cards from all the other ERC-721 games to this platform and have an account to display your 'decks' or collectibles?

    • Do you think people would like to sell these cards?

    • What unnique use cases can you see someone using this for?? I can see someone posting the link to a meme/picture to prove they are the original owner/poster.

    • Basically I'm trying to see if I should polish this up, redesign the whole thing, add functionalities for all other cards from any erc721 standard, and create a backend on AWS for accounts.... its a lot of work, so I want to know what the community thinks about the idea, before I start down that rabbit hole.

edit: There was no design in mind when I started this, it was just a little project that was supposed to be a one page app that would be on github, but it turned into a lot more, so this is a MVP (minimum viable product) and I'm just looking for feedback on the idea. The front end sucks, but what about the overall idea?

Coinscovery, the most user friendly crypto tool

    Posted: 31 Jul 2018 06:42 PM PDT

Hello /r/Ethereum! I developed a free, all in one crypto tool, for the community. This is my small contribution to help with crypto adoption.

Coinscovery's mission is to be the most user friendly, all in one tool for crypto lovers. I was looking for a better CMC, with more features and no ads. Here are some of the the features:

    • Up to date crypto prices
    • Up to date exchange/market data
    • Crypto watchlists
    • TradingView graphs for each coin
    • Breaking news
    • Portfolio management

    Here are some upcoming features:

    • Tax tracker tool
    • Crypto converter tool
    • Shop tab for users to buy and sell anything with crypto (Most excited about this. I want to allow anyone to use their crypto to buy things. Think amazon of crypto. You will be able to spend your shitcoins on whatever you want!)

Please help me make Coinscovery the most powerful crypto tool for everyone! Here is the Ethereum Page
