    ATH buyers!

    Posted: 18 Jun 2018 09:24 PM PDT

Guys who came in at near ATH, WELCOME!

Good to have you guys. if you are patient, you too will be able to sell at the next ATH or at the desired amount. XRP is bound to grow because of it nature and use case. To move large amounts of money, a higher, AHUM, MUCH HIGHER price is obviously logical. Brad has said this and David said this many times!

A higher price? Statistically, we have price predictions from anywhere between 10$ - 350$ within the timeframe of EOY 2018 and EOY 2021.

So I ask of you, is that worth to wait in your case? Considering the amount of XRP value you hold?

What is super important for people who bought near ATH; 1. Bring things in to perspective, somebody who bought at $,20 cents could have got it at $,01 cent etcetera. -> the price was 'stuck' for quite a long while with lots of FUD and just a handful of "potential partnerships"!!! 2. Think a bit more spiritually; Nobody gets "free" money! Although this comes reallllyyyyy close to that and basically could be considerd as that, you do have to work for it in a weird kind of way. And Thats emotional or spiritual if you will. If u had invested 2k at $,10 cents you did not had all the good news that you now have, which means you needed to hold on really hard!! Every price level has its own challenges...

Good luck holding on, and remember; if you sell with loss, that and that only is making this market go around;)

Trying to break the XRP echo chamber. What may we be missing? What could possibly go wrong?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2018 01:01 AM PDT

    Just thinking aloud here.

To begin with, I am NOT worried about the current XRP value dip. As I mentioned in my previous post, I think the current XRP value is purely speculative, so I'm NOT worried about that. I'm just waiting for when the current dip reverses, and then I'll buy some more XRP on it's way up.

Having that said, I AM a bit worried. Because the way I see it, the future is looking very bright for Rapid and XRP. Almost TOO bright. So I MUST be missing something. Because when things look too good to be true, they probably are. So in the back of my head I'm thinking, what am I missing? What could go wrong?

Could Ripple fail catastrophically due to some unforeseen upcoming regulations? Could a potential SEC ruling of XRP being a security void the usage of XRP as a utility token? Something like that? I'm trying to see the grim alternatives here. But it is difficult, as we in the Ripple community are kind of echo chamber positive about XRP. So I'm trying to see beyond that..

So I was thinking.. maybe we all could put our critical thinking caps on, and try to envision what setbacks could arise ahead, and then, for each of them, discuss the probabilities of them happening, and their consequences. I think it would be sane, to have that kind of constructive criticism discussion.

How is Ripple priced compared to SWIFT?

    Posted: 18 Jun 2018 09:21 PM PDT

I sell enterprise software for a living and compete against 2-3 of the same vendors in pretty much every deal i work on. There is a lot of talk about Ripple vs SWIFT on functionality which at this point in time Ripple has an advantage while SWIFT has the customer base but over the last couple of years on the forums one thing i have not seen is how do they stack up on price because its a major part of the decision making process, I have seen clients choose the tier 2 solution which sacrifices on functionality but wins on price from both an initial implementation and ongoing. When a client compares software pricing they look at a number of factors including these but not limited to. 1) Licensing 2) License implication for growth 3) Implementation 4) Maintenance 5) Platform upgrades/upgrade-ability. Does anybody have insight into how Ripple and SWIFT stack up?

This is my second blog post and this time i'm refering to SWIFT and the progress they made all this time vs Ripple. Maybe the tone is a bit aggressive but what's your opinion? https://xrpcommunity.blog/swift-not-swift/

2 - Volante, a provider of software for the integration, processing and orchestration of payments and financial messages, and US-based banking heavyweight BNY Mellon have joined forces to "create and deploy technology to enable real-time payments in the US and internationally".

4 - The Clearing House (TCH) has launched its 24×7 real-time payments (RTP) system, the first new core payments infrastructure in the US in more than 40 years.

5 - The first ever real-time payment on the system was initiated between BNY Mellon and US Bank. They will be shortly followed by Citi, JP Morgan, PNC and SunTrust, who represent the "industry's earliest adopters" of RTP.

6 - Vocalink, a Mastercard company, adds that at its core, the technology behind RTP is an "evolution" of its system. These solutions have been designed to "run on their own rails, working alongside and between conventional settlement systems".

    Restoring wallet

    Posted: 18 Jun 2018 03:41 PM PDT

I had an account in Rippex and backed it up.

    My backup includes : 1) ripple address ( with funds ) 2) password 3) secret key 4) backup file ( ends with "==" )

Now to recover it in Toast Wallet I need to enter 1) Backup code 2) Passphrase or Recovery Phrase (of current wallet)

It seems that Toast's recovery phrase is in different format? How can I use my rippex backup file?

    Ripple/XRP & FIFA World Cup 2018

    Posted: 17 Jun 2018 10:31 PM PDT

So I was watching Germany vs Mexico match last night. Just by looking at the huge number of people in the stadium & the massive footfall expected in the upcoming games as the World Cup progresses, I started wondering whether Ripple (the company) could have gained anything for themselves or for XRP by becoming sponsors of the event? Such visibility across almost all the nations of the world in a span of 1 month isn't easily garnered.

Just ponder over the fact for a moment that the final of FWC 2014 was seen by 1 billion people across the globe! :)
