Blockstream trolls have succeeded to insert the term "Bcash" into Bitcoin Cash Wikipedia page

    Posted: 31 May 2018 11:45 AM PDT

This subreddit has more trolls than actively voting users.

    Posted: 31 May 2018 11:37 PM PDT

The pro Blockstream Core BTC vote manipulation is just beyond ridiculous.

It's like, I have been a Windows user since Windows 3.1 for workgroups. Why the hell would I spend all my time in an OSx sub trolling?

It's the reason I hardly ever post here anymore.

Powerful quote from Andreas "Sellout" Antonopolos regarding bitcoin devs:

    Posted: 31 May 2018 04:05 PM PDT

This link was posted today. I've never seen it but its from 2013, just when Bitcoin Core (BTC) was starting going down a slippery slope.

Here is the quote from that convo:

    https://bitcointalk.to/index.php?topic=181168.msg1977971#msg1977971

" I for one, was not aware that several of the developers had very low tolerance for different opinions, a very defensive reaction to any critical view and a childish need to make everyone else bend to their decisions. I was expecting a higher level of maturity, but I have been shocked to find a schoolyard atmosphere. The worst part is they portray themselves simultaneously as heroes of bitcoin and victims of terrible oppression by anyone who disagrees. It's quite pathetic really. "

UASF, NO2X, insisting on 1mb4life .. it all makes sense. "Bcash is an attack on bitcoin by Roger and Jihan" is an obvious shit to say for these menchildren

... and then he sold out (even got tons of money recently for being a good boy.

Someone plz explain why Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin users seem to hate each other with a passion.

    Posted: 31 May 2018 09:43 PM PDT

    Hey all,

I've been on this subreddit for a few weeks without much knowledge of cryptocurrency politics. I keep seeing things about how people are hating on Bitcoin Cash users and vise versa, but I never really got why. I think Bitcoin Cash was a form of Bitcoin a while ago but that's the extent of my knowledge.

Can someone please help explain (preferably in an unbiased way) what the deal is here? Thanks!

More lies on the Bitcoin Cash Wikipedia page.

    Posted: 31 May 2018 09:46 PM PDT

In addition to the current top post on this sub, there are a few other misleading or outright false statements about Bitcoin Cash on the Wiki page. [It's kind of in reverse order from how it appears on the page.]

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_Cash#Cryptocurrency_exchanges

On March 26, 2018, KuCoin removed all Bitcoin Cash trading pairs[43] followed by OKEx on March 30, 2018, who also ceased Bitcoin Cash trading pairs[44] (BCH/BTC, BCH/ETH, BCH/USDT) due to "inadequate liquidity".

KuCoin still has all three pairs mentioned, and also has BCH/KCS:

    https://www.kucoin.com/#/markets

You can see here that the only pairs they removed are obscure alt-coins:

    https://news.kucoin.com/en/kucoin-to-streamline-trading-pairs/

Regarding OKEx, their own site, which is actually linked to in the wiki article, couldn't be much clearer:

BCH will still be available for trading in BTC, ETH and USDT markets (BCH/BTC, BCH/ETH, BCH/USDT).

    https://support.okex.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002258531

    Also:

Bittrex,[40] Binance,[41] and Huobi exchange[42] use BCC as Bitcoin Cash's ticker symbol instead. BCC is more commonly used as the ticker symbol for Bitconnect.

Huobi now refers to it as BCH, not BCC:

    https://www.huobi.pro/ko-kr/bch_usdt/exchange/

Only 19 out of the 115 exchanges listed on coinmarketcap that trade Bitcoin Cash list it as BCC, and most of them are small.

    https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets

Bitconnect is only listed on one exchange right now, so I don't know how it could be "more commonly used as the ticker symbol for Bitconnect."

    https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitconnect/#markets

    This:

BCH currently mines an average of 144 blocks per day, as originally intended for Bitcoin, while BTC's average varies wildly, but is usually about a dozen blocks more per day, on average.

Should be added to the "Move of hashpower and difficulty adjustment" section.

    This:

Upon launch, Bitcoin Cash inherited the transaction history of the Bitcoin cryptocurrency on that date, but all later transactions were separate.

Should be reworded to "Bitcoin Cash shares a common transaction history up until the block 478558, minded August 1, 2017. Bitcoin forked the next block and all transactions since are on the respective forks.

There's probably a few areas that could be expanded too.

Kraken suspends services for Japanese citizens for ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, GNO

    Posted: 01 Jun 2018 01:20 AM PDT

The email I got today is kind of scary.
    Why those specific coins?

    QUOTE:

On June 8th 2018 Kraken will partially suspend exchange services for residents of Japan. This partial suspension of service is the first step toward the full suspension of services previously announced. This suspension only affects residents of Japan and does not impact services for any residents outside of Japan including Japanese citizens or businesses domiciled outside of Japan.

Services that will be suspended on June 8th (for Japan residents only)

Deposits of all fiat and crypto assets will be suspended

Withdrawals of ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, and GNO will be temporarily suspended (available again later, but may require further account verification)

Buying of ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, and GNO will be suspended (selling of these assets will NOT be suspended)

All existing buy orders for ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, and GNO will be cancelled (sell orders will NOT be cancelled)

If you want to use any of the above services before they are suspended, please make your transactions no later than 11:59 PM on June 8th Japan time to ensure the services are available. Any bank deposits arriving after June 8th will be returned and it may take more than a month to process the return. Please be aware of the time it takes to send bank wires and plan accordingly to ensure that any bank deposits arrive by June 8th.

Why are withdrawals of ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, and GNO being temporarily suspended? This is due to regulatory requirements in Japan that may later impose additional account verification for withdrawal of these assets.

When will ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, and GNO withdrawals be enabled again? Withdrawals in these coins will be temporarily suspended on June 8th. It will take some time to re-enable withdrawals and additional account verification may be required to withdraw.
Accounts requiring additional verification will be contacted via email with instructions on how to proceed with the verification process. Clients will need to respond to the email and may also be required to provide up to 2 forms of identification before they can withdraw. If after verifying the account a client does not withdraw all of their coins and later wants to withdraw ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, or GNO again, they may have to verify the account again before making another withdrawal.

Why is buying in ZEC, XMR, DASH, REP, and GNO being restricted?
Buying is being restricted due regulatory restrictions on funding in these coins.

When will other services be suspended for Japan residents? Further details of the client asset return procedure will be sent separately after the dates are set. The below schedule is tentative and approximate only and may be adjusted to later dates.

Last day of trading for all assets: early July 2018

Last day of withdrawal for all assets: TBD - clients will need to withdraw as soon as possible after the last day of trading

What about Japan residents waiting on MtGox distributions? Japan residents waiting on MtGox distributions will still be able to withdraw the funds through their Kraken account as a one-time payment, provided that this option is approved by the court.

We greatly appreciate the business from our clients residing in Japan and apologize for the inconvenience caused by the suspension of service.

    Sincerely,

    The Kraken Team

    Paying Bitpay Invoices with BCH

    Posted: 31 May 2018 07:13 PM PDT

When Bitpay released the ability to pay an invoice with BCH, was this turned on by default to every merchant? As in, the merchant only decides what they receive, but every invoice could be paid in either BTC or BCH. Or can the merchant decide to not accept one or the other? I ask because I it appears that a store I'm trying to buy something from doesn't have an option to pay with BCH via Bitpay.

Bitcoin Cash should be Baxx to Jaxx soon!!

    Posted: 31 May 2018 05:38 PM PDT

    https://blog.jaxx.io/bitcoin-cash-network-upgrade-jaxx-wallet-bch/

"We've diverted about 20 percent of our development team to work on the BCH issue"

This is significant resources and means they take BCH seriously! Go Jaxx. Thank you for the commitment to support Bitcoin Cash in your wallets!

In the blog post they describe the problem more specifically, and it make sense to me. The issue is Bitpay's most recent releases of Insight might support BCH post HF but those most recent Insight releases have significant changes for which Jaxx's internal layer utilizing it would need significant changes to adopt. Or in order words Jaxx is running on a stable older version of Insight which Bitpay hasn't back-ported changes need to support BCH post recent HF.

"If you need to transact with BCH immediately you can always export your private keys or mnemonic (found in the MENU > Tools > Backup Wallet > View Backup Phrase) and then import them into another wallet program such as bitcoin-abc. A long-standing tenet of Jaxx has been that your private keys belong to you and we will never lock our users into our platform."

Good advice and obviously possible, abc and bitcoin.com wallet can do it. However for you non tech guys out there you might want to see if you can hold tight for the update, don't trust other random wallet programs or apps you find out there, Jaxx can be trusted. Just be super careful whenever exposing private keys to any software you don't fully know and trust.

"Please accept my apologies on behalf of the Jaxx team at Decentral Inc. We're working hard to bring BCH back online as well as to meet our timeline to bring you Jaxx Liberty on July 1st."

I personally accept his apology and believe in them.
