Support Merchants Accepting BCH! Posted: 07 May 2018 10:56 PM PDT SatoshiwareNQ met up with the guys at TravelByBit who are a local Brisbane company rolling out a POS system to accept cryptos. They are gaining some really good traction. Spent all day with them and had a delicious Korean meal at NomNom beers and wine at Brew Cafe and Wine Bar and then dinner at 5 Dogs Cafe all paid for with BCH! Also if you're passing through the Brisbane international or domestic airport be sure to check out their website to see the 15 merchants who are accepting BCH and show them your support. TravelByBit may be looking to decrease the number of cryptos they support to reduce complexity for vendors so we need BCH to be one that is used most frequently. At the airport I bought a bottle of water from the bar, a fruit salad from a cafe and some sushi from a lovely Japanese girl who was super excited that I asked to pay with BCH! Gotta love spending that Bitcoin Cash!! [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 May 2018 06:13 PM PDT Explain to me how I am using Bitcoin Cash every day from this address that goes all the way back till 2015. 1Niak6WPi1NDYquYGBc6TYVerheyEGeXM7 My oldest address is from 2012, and I still use it with Bitcoin Cash. I can proof it cryptographically, something that Gilfoyl would love. Message: I's me Kain_niak. url of this post is https://www.reddit.com/r/SiliconValleyHBO/comments/8hk08o/silicon_valley_5x07_intitial_coin_offering/dym7uvc/ I have been using what is now called Bitcoin Cash since 2011, Bitcoin got comprommised so we forked in to Bitcoin Cash. There has been a massave propaganda campaing by those that comprimmised bitcoin to make it look like they did not hijack the project. But they are idiots and Bitcoin became unussable as currency in 2017 and that gave them away. But crypography is strong, they can't compromise math. Lightning User Experience: A Day in the Life of Mr Derp Posted: 07 May 2018 09:15 PM PDT The goal of this post is to give the Bitcoin community and prospective Lightning users insight into what the end user experience of the Lightning Network is like right now. Here, we're focusing on the story of Mr Derp, a new Lightning Network user. Meet Mr Derp. In today's post, Mr Derp is the hero of the story. Mr Derp setup an online shop after hearing about all the wonderful hype of the Lightning Network and couldn't wait to try it out himself. First thing first, Mr Derp went to enrol in degrees for cryptography, security, game theory, economics, and more. Source: https://twitter.com/abrkn/status/992744771054485506 Fast forward time, Mr Derp is now equipped with the knowledge to be a LN user because doing things simple is not for him. Bitcoin Cash users just download Bitcoin.com wallet to get started, no advanced degrees, even his grandmother could use Bitcoin Cash. But who likes to a simple life? Not Mr Derp! Mr Derp enjoys making his life as complicated as possible, so he opt for Lightning Network instead of the simple Bitcoin.com wallet. Then he realize his Lightning Network wallet needs to be online all the time. This is perfect for Mr Derp because he does not like his funds secure so he enjoy putting his wallet out there 24 hours a day to let people steal his funds. He doesn't like the highly secure and often highly recommended secure way of cold storage. Mr Derp enjoys living his life dangerously. Life is more exciting when you wake up each day not knowing if your funds are still there or not. Unfortunately, the next day, Mr Derp realize his funds was lost in the Lightning Network. https://www.trustnodes.com/2018/03/26/lightning-network-user-loses-funds Doesn't matter, Mr Derp has lots of money to throw away. He setup another LN again but this time, he is a little bit less stupid. Then Mr Derp realize his customers can't pay him without him locking up enough money in the Lightning Network payment channel. Mr Derp likes to lock up his own money the same way he locks up his money in the bank. "What type of people don't want their money to be locked up?", Mr Derp thought to himself. Then Mr Derp realize his customers was still unable to pay him due to too little funds locked up in the Lightning Network payment channel. Mr Derp likes complicated things so he thought maybe topping up will work. Turns out he can't top up his original balance and has to close the existing payment channel and create a new payment channel. "The more complicated the better it is", Mr Derp thought to himself. After months of LN experience, Mr Derp is now excited to show everyone how amazing his Lightning Network works. He even made a YouTube video to demo this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxgBgWBw6wc

PoW : about this "humongous energy consumption" argument Posted: 07 May 2018 01:16 PM PDT I've made a little post on Yours about this argument ("but Bitcoin consumes such a huge amount of energy - surely, it must be bad !") ... https://www.yours.org/content/pow---about-this--humongous-energy-consumption--argument-b3c7c3b9514d Short answer : no. Bitcoin is efficient, and yes, it is far more efficient than the current banking system, and thus much more eco-friendly. [link] [comments]
