    Have you noticed here recently..

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 06:22 PM PDT

an influx of repetitive posts from very low karma accounts focusing passive aggressive non-issues such as:

    • Has the 20xrp wallet reserve been reduced?

    • Any news about the wallet reserve, should we say something to ripple?

    • If Ripple (XRP) was considered a Security, how was that affect the price?

    • Discussion: Is XRP a security?

    • Why is XRP available to the public?

This is not indicative of individuals who may well be new to XRP, but apparently of individuals who have found themselves in possession of XRP, but have somehow bypassed any normal sources of information and research via google, or indeed any subreddit searches, but instead arrived at this subreddit with XRP in their wallets and immediately ask questions already in the recent posts, duplicated many times.

From an outside perspective it is almost as if throwaway reddit accounts are attempting to pad out the daily feed of popular news relating to the successes of XRP and Ripple with fear, uncertainty and doubt.

    Imagine that!

Indeed, viewing the content of many such posts doesn't reveal an impartial OP hungry for information and education, but rather an OP hungry for conflict and attempting to sway all participants toward a seemingly pre-decided answer. Of course, we should not change the way we conduct business in helping to educate others, each other, and helping to progress Ripple and XRP, one might, however, be aware of these strange mysterious increasing occurrences and be aware of how contributing to such posts will increase their visibility, thereby reducing visibility of positive Ripple/XRP posts we all enjoy reading.

As with all things, there is a much easier way of dealing with the situation saving time, effort, and positively re-enforcing self study.

All of the questions highlighted at the top of this post can be addressed simply by reposting a link to previous threads with answers said questions, there's no need to go over the same discussions again and again. Doing this will not only provide the OP with the answers they seek, extensive discussions on the topic, but also provide any new subscriber to the subreddit with immediate information in which they can respond to participants of those older threads and still be assisted with any further questions without clogging up the more recent threads.

    Knowledge is power.

A night to celebrate xrp community

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 09:27 AM PDT

If XRP is a security, then so is a plant.

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 11:48 AM PDT

If the SEC change the rules around securities to include XRP, they would also include plants bought at garden centre.

All of the rational being misapplied to XRP would also apply to a plant or packet of seeds which may yield fruit in future.

The plant may or may not grow and bare fruit, the fruit can be sold or traded, the plant is independent of the garden centre and will survive without the garden centre, and while it is expected that it will grow, it's not a guarantee.

The plant's growth is not dependant on the garden centre, or even the original producer of the seeds, although it helps with the future of the garden centre for the plant to bare fruit as it can help the reputation of the garden centre when it is proven that lots of people are successfully growing fruit from the seeds the garden centre distributed.

So, if the SEC change their rules to include XRP, they will then have to make additional exclusions for plants bought at garden centres, and god knows how many other arguments that can be made to this ridiculous ongoing discussion that XRP is a security.

Why is XRP avaliable to the public?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 06:52 AM PDT

Ripple provides a great service to banks for transferring money. However, im struggling to understand why XRP exists on the open market? Why isn't the token used behind the scenes for transferring fiat when a client uses the Ripple service?

    Small correction/SellOff

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 08:58 PM PDT

Looks like we hit a small wall. Lots of people jumped to TRX and EOS for some reason.

Anyone know what that was all about?

Also is the BearWhale still active? Last we checked, they stopped selling with 250M xrp withheld

Dips almost in unison across crypto

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 06:11 PM PDT

Novice here, but I have noticed across most well known crypto they all dip dramatically at the same time. How/who/what causes this? It's like a concerted effort. Is this how day trading works, too?

Is there an easier way to purchase XRP aside from Bitstamp?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 04:52 PM PDT

Is there an easier way to purchase XRP aside from Bitstamp? I ask because when I try to make a deposit they use the terms "transfer" yet my bank said in order to do a transfer I need a routing number (and there is no routing number on the confirmation screen). However, my bank said the information they provided is actually for a "wire" and that I would be charged $50 USD for it.

    1. I want to purchase XRP within the next 24 hours with the least amount of steps. I tried Bitstamp, which my bank confirmed I can send money to, but I don't know if they want a transfer or wire as the terminology they used conflicts with the information they provided.

    2. If I can purchase via a debit card, Walmart prepay, PayPal, etc please let me know. I'm just trying to do the least steps and make this easy.

    3. I opened a ticket with Bitstamp. I've never opened me before and don't know how long it will take for them to reply.

    Thanks in advance,

is there a method to identify "how much $" or ripple is being utilized daily from non-trades? (real world or test cases)?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 10:36 AM PDT

We often think of terms of market cap and 24hr daily $... however as cryptos evolve how can we track: a. product use vs b. day trading (normal, pump/dump etc) c. swaps (have to use usd to get btc/eth/ltc to buy alt or xrp etc)

Is there a tracking site that once currencies evolve track how much is being "used" as a product for its "intended" use purposes?

example bank A translates XYZ to XRP ($2mil) to bank B bank B translates the xrp to USD

Beyond just Ripple it would help to know the "adoption" use ... eventually I would like to see BTC be less important on the success of other cryptos... right now they often sink/swim based on BTC or due to a major boon (.00000001$ crypto joins binance and is now $.10)

How to buy/trade Ripple with leverage? (In Canada)

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 03:02 PM PDT

Hello, I hope you are all doing well! I'm trying to find a way to trade Ripple and other cryptos with leverage in Canada. I'm currently trading forex with a 1:50 leverage and I know it's also possible to do so with cryptos, but all I can find are platforms in the US or Europe. Anyone knows if there's a platform to do so in Canada ? Thank you !

    Best Exchange to sell XRP?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 08:53 PM PDT

Google gets me to all sorts of exchanges. Just asking the folks here what exchange is best to buy and sell XRP for USD. I usually bought from coinbase and transferred to Binance but this is inefficient. Looking for other options. Thanks.

Edit: Not sure why this is being downvoted. Looking to sell in a year or two and wanted to know what others in the XRP community are using.

SWIFT isn't done at all. Threat to Ripple's plans?

    Posted: 24 Apr 2018 06:56 PM PDT

    https://www.finews.asia/finance/26772-swift-gpi-asia-blockchain-china-singapore-australia-thailand

There has been a lot of discussion about Ripple not partnering with SWIFT because they are going to blow them out of the water. Yet, this article says SWIFT GPI allows for real-time payment and MOST IMPORTANTLY has a real time settlement solution just around the corner!

I always thought Ripple had the edge because of the fast settlement solution yet SWIFT now appears to have this solution. Is Ripple too confident that they are better than SWIFT?
