    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 06:32 AM PDT

    Hi Guys

Can someone tell me how many KWH a NVIDIA GTX 1080 TI uses when it is constantly running on mining?

Would like to buy one to mine Walton with my GMN, however, would like to have some insight in the electricity use.

    Thank you guys!

Is anything profitable to mine right now?

    Posted: 05 Apr 2018 08:21 PM PDT

I'm waiting on a 6x 1070ti Nvidia GPU setup. It doesn't seem much of anything is even profitable at this point, but I want to learn as much as possible and have been interested in mining for a long time.

Mining Monero on ETHOS after tomorrow's Fork

    Posted: 05 Apr 2018 02:45 PM PDT

Does anyone know what we need to update in order to be able to mine monero after tomorrow's fork. I am not linux savy outside of basic commands to manage ETHOS so any guidance/commands on how to be post fork Monero mining ready would be much appreciated!

    New XZC/Lyra2z miner for AMD/Linux/ROCm

    Posted: 05 Apr 2018 08:08 PM PDT

I've been working on a new miner for a long while and finally have a version stable enough to have some alpha testers kick the tires.

It is currently very basic, and only supports lyra2z on AMD Polaris and Vega GPUs with the linux ROCm OpenCL stack. I know that mining on linux with AMD hardware isn't terribly common, but hopefully there are a few people out there running a compatible setup. I have tested it on Vega 64 and RX 580 GPUs as that is the hardware I have available. I would be particularly interested in getting some results from some RX 570 and Vega 56 GPUs.

Last, but not least, the hash rates on the miner are pretty good:

GPU SCLK (MHz) MCLK (MHz) Hash Rate (Mh/s)
    RX 580 1167 2000 2.91
    RX Vega 64 1401 945 5.81

If anyone not currently running on ROCm is considering setting it up, please check that it supports your hardware. ROCm has some restrictions regarding PCIe gen3, atomics support, and GPU link width. You can find more info on ROCm support here.

You can find the release here. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Edit: formatting

Anyone quit their day job and live off just mining/crypto trading? Whats your story??

    Posted: 05 Apr 2018 10:49 AM PDT

I'd never do it myself being too risk adverse. Just being in the crypto market is a big step for me but I would love to hear if anyone else is doing mining or crypto trading as their main income source. Are you happy with the decision? What have you learned?
