Rig Goes Offline But Wattman Settings Unchanged?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 07:22 PM PDT

    I have a rig with a mixture of 570s and 580s - basic set up - 2 750W PSUs and MSI H270 MB.

I modded the BIOS on the cards but I turned down the memory clock considerably in order to get these guys running stable. The rig will still go offline (still running but no response) after a couple of days. When I restart the computer Wattman settings are unchanged.

Isn't this odd? I'd expect the problem card or all cards to reset to original. Any ideas?

    GPU Mining + Masternode

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 11:02 AM PDT

I was curious if anyone is currently mining with their miners and also running a masternode simultaneously? I'm wondering if this is possible, and then the pros and cons associated with doing so? Any help and advise is appreciated. Thanks.

Is the Pascal A1 the nail in the coffin?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 09:27 PM PDT

There's been much discussion recently about ASICs coming online for different currencies. I am wondering if the Pascal A1 is legit and if it means the end for gpu mining. Thoughts?

Anybody know a good site for historical network hash rates?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 06:18 PM PDT

Some pools have a day or so of network vs pool hash history... does anyone know of a site that shows a longer period of network hash rate? Like a year etc? Please share, thanks!

    How accurate is "MiningPoolHubStats"?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 02:07 PM PDT

I just recently switched over to MiningPoolHub from NiceHash to reduce overhead (fees), and according to the Stats page generated by my API key, I am making almost double at MPH over Nicehash. ($3.7/day from $2.2/day with nicehash.)

Does anyone else have any history using MiningPoolHubStats that can make any statements on its accuracy?

    PSU overload? 95%

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 12:43 PM PDT

Hi, I have two: Seasonic PowerSupply (PSU) PRIME 850W Titanium (SSR-850TR)

    1: 3 GPU + mobo 2: 4 GPU

    HiveOS, 1080ti's @ 190W + risers

    The 2nd PSU (running 4 GPU's + risers) is going at 804-814W (94-95% of it's capacity)

It's not even close to "warm"?

    Running for 26 days now.

After reading, ppl say I should not go over 80% of the PSU capacity, or it will slowly commit suicide?

Is it me being ignorant because "titanium"?

Should i upgrade to 1000w? Or is my titanium 850w @ ~810w (4 GPU) safe?

(sorry for language, love this subreddit) Regards / E

Argon2d PoW algorithm and GPU mining (Nimiq)

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 12:01 PM PDT

Hey guys, so I will give a bit of context: there is crypto called Nimiq that will soon have its mainnet release (most likely before end of April), the concept is basically that you can generate wallets/send transaction/mine directly from your browser without installing anything, it's really cool imo, anyway a link is worth a thousand words so you can test it here: https://nimiq-testnet.com/

Now the consensus algorithm used is called Argon2d and it's I quote "memory-latency-bound proof of work", I never heard about that before and it seems to be the first crypto using it (most likely because it's fairly egalitarian).

So I went to gather some infos and apparently the "bottleneck factor" for your hashrate right now is the CPU cache (I found this community benchmark, in short the more L3 cache you have the better).

At the moment there is no GPU miner however but I'm wondering if there are any hopes that GPU could still theorically outperform (even moderately) CPU on this PoW algorithm. Does someone familiar with encryption algorithm could give me some insight?

Asus B250 Mining Expert won't post

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 11:01 AM PDT

I have a new Asus B250 Mining Expert that I can no longer get to post. When I first installed it today with 10 cards it posted just fine (all risers green). I updated the BIOS online from 1001 to 1006 and it rebooted fine and went back into the BIOS reporting version 1006.

I then rebooted and now it no longer outputs any video output, doesn't turn the lights on my USB keyboard on and doesn't make any beep sounds. That's with it connected either to the internal HDMI or a card in the PCIEx16 slot (or any other).

I've tried resetting the NV ram and even doing it with the battery removed but it just won't power up. I've tried it with every riser removed and two different memory sticks that were working fine the first boot. I just don't get what's going on.

I moved to this board because I had a Gigabyte B250 Fintech that was being unreliable. I had updated the firmware on that via Windows which worked perfectly but on reboot was doing exactly the same as my new board is now :(

Best ROI GPU at the moment?

    Posted: 09 Apr 2018 01:15 PM PDT

Help me out here guys, i'm interested in the best ROI gpu at the moment (price vs return). Power consumption is not an issue. Availability is also not an issue (as i'm not planning to buy tons of them). Heat is also not an issue (can keep them cool).

I'm only interested in price vs hash power (and also i'd like to get the new series radeon 5xx (or the vega) or geforce 10xx - for better resale value. Also if anyone knows which is the GPU that can return the initial investment the fastest.
