Guys, polish government has just destroyed all crypto trading by publishing a new tax law "interpretation". By trading 15000 USD you can pay even 500000 USD tax.

    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 03:56 PM PDT

Ministry of Finances has just published an announcement, which can cause massive bankrupties or even suicides of people trading cryptos (especially those day-trading).

From buying/selling capital of 15000 dollars worth of cryptocurrency, you can pay even 500,000 dollars tax or more. Sounds completely unrealistic ? Yet it is the state of reality in Poland now.

Oh by the way for those that didn't know: in Poland the IRS has a time machine. For them, the law works even back in time. I am serious. They don't change the law, they just change the interpretation which can reverse their previous decisions even 10 years back in time.

I know you guys cannot do anything about this, but maybe giving the topic some publicity abroad could help our case. Our government is usually only concerned when it is massively criticized from all sides.

If we don't do anything soon, this will go into law and cryptocurrency trading (or even using it) could case to exist in our country.

There's many in here from rBitcoin who don't understand why there's any animosity & think there's still only one Bitcoin community (theirs).

    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 05:30 PM PDT

They also feel that "the Bitcoin community" is salvageable if only we would see: all us in here are "wrong".

I'd like to point out that on August 1st, 2017 there was a hard-fork which permanently created two separate Bitcoin (btc) communities despite a shared history and it should be very clear to anyone here that they are in a very large disagreement not only about goals but also about technical functionalities, and so naturally there would be some animosity (and sadly, drama) as people will not see eye-to-eye.

The only thing potentially salvageable is your own understanding as to which chain more accurately represents Bitcoin as described in the whitepaper and that would also require some knowledge of the history of rBitcoin, /r/btc Bitcoin & Bitcoin Cash: https://np.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMarkets/comments/6rxw7k/z/dl8v4lp and an awareness of the level of censorship outside this sub.

The point of a permanent fork divergence from a shared history is so that both Bitcoin (btc) chains don't work with each other anymore despite that shared history. They go their separate ways - and that's what happened on August 1st, 2017.

The scaling debate ended on August 1st, 2017. The majority of people in here in the Bitcoin (btc) sub are Bitcoin Cash supporters (bch). Sorry if you don't like that and if you dont- that's your problem. A main reason for the fork was because we know that Bitcoin can scale perfectly fine on-chain and should've done so long ago.

Like it or not, since the fork we're moving on from arguing over scaling and I should hope that most of us in here are ignoring distractions and now focusing on increasing Bitcoin use globally through rapid adoption either through use or through projects, because we know it can be done, otherwise there would've been no fork.

One community is "Bitcoin+Segwit+Lightning" over in rBitcoin which in my opinion is no longer "Bitcoin as we know it" and becoming less-so by the day: there is no need for Segregated Witness which changes elements of how transactions are structured- and there is no need for Lightning which attempts to move things off-chain.

The other community is the Bitcoin Cash (bch) community here in the Bitcoin (btc) sub which in my opinion is closer to the whitepaper and what Bitcoin stands for. Bitcoin is not a corporate-owned product or service being prepped for off-chain-solutions™, it is a currency designed to be efficient, designed to be global, even for small transactions and fully inclusive- and it works great as is and it is being proven every single day.

There is plenty of room in here for uncensored debate, criticism, and focused technical discussion on everything Bitcoin (btc), If you've read the whitepaper you'll know that most of the conspiracy-theories out there are just that: conspiracy-theories to keep people in fear of changing their investment standing.

Increased adoption rates across the world should be our focus, not some "off-chain solutions". Things are working just fine without those "second layer solutions": on the Bitcoin Cash chain. But to those still confused that is of course highly debatable depending on how strongly you are attached purely to "the name" ie. "The Bitcoin Brand" and believe in the store-of-value-moon-lambo-poor-hating-mantra's. You can cling to the name and watch as others speculate purely on perceived value despite it heading away from the efficiency and welcoming aspects of Bitcoin and what Bitcoin stands for: increasing everyone's economic freedom no matter who or where they are.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/89ynx8/when_i_got_involved_years_ago_bitcoin_was_going/

You can yell and scream all about consensus all you want, but social consensus is not required for a hard-fork of a shared history in an open-source project. Consensus in the context of Bitcoin (btc) is a term used once to describe the functional methods within the description of electronic coin as defined in the whitepaper https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/whitepaper/bitcoin.pdf - it is casually mentioned in the conclusion. If we didn't have language or a word to call it "Bitcoin" it would function as A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System or "We define an electronic coin as a chain of digital signatures".

"A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" is more important than the name, brand, or add-on corporate-services or second-layer-solutions etc. "to make it work more good" and anyone who tells you otherwise is set to profit big-time from misleading others while lying through their teeth (or probably being set up as a fall guy).

The Bitcoin Cash chain is more of 'A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System' than the other chain and it is proving itself by the day. The "rBitcoin+Segwit+Lightning" chain is no longer as close to that system, and sure, arguably, we can fight over names so long as you remain stuck on arguing over a name instead of functionality and demonstrability. The fact is that one chain is now more 'A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System' than the other (regardless of how strongly one may feel about ownership of a name or brand).

If you consider yourself a Bitcoin believer, the best time to get involved is right now here with Bitcoin Cash and the best thing you can do is ignore people-drama and old tired scaling debates and other distractions and instead focus on helping us increase the adoption rate every day.

Bought beer with BCH this week

    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 03:37 PM PDT

Went to the well-known bar in Akasaka, Tokyo that takes BCH and bought a couple of rounds for my buddies using my BCH.

And bloody hell was it quick. Amazing to see the money reach their wallet so speedily. There's no way I could get cash out of my normal wallet quick enough.

Anyway, I know it's not some ground breaking news or something, but for me it was just really cool to use this currency in a real life situation, in a bricks and mortar establishment.

    Bitcoin Cash Adoption Through Gaming

    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 11:07 AM PDT

tldr; I am the creator and owner of an indie online free-to-play multiplayer game approaching 10 million registered users and 600-800k active users at any given time. I am also an avid BCH supporter (it is the real Bitcoin) and I want to use my company and gaming to help spread BCH adoption to millions of users. Our core demographic is age 24 and under. I want to do more than just accept BCH through merchant APIs, I want to actually create games focused on driving BCH adoption. However, I need the help of the BCH community to get in touch with Roger Ver, Dr. Wright and other successful people in the BCH community to realistically make this happen.

Many years ago I started programming a video game by myself in my college apartment. Today that game has been running for 4 years and is approaching 10 million registered users. We are still an indie studio with around 10 employees. The company was bootstrapped from the ground up, still fully owned by myself and my best friend / business partner.

I got heavily into cryptos in September 2017 (I know I'm still a rookie compared to a lot of you). I quickly saw BTC's flaws and wondered what all of the hype was about. Eventually I started digging into BCH (I got into cryptos after the fork so I didn't know what it was right away). I have a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Business Administration. It didn't take me long to realize BCH had the superior tech and adoption / ease of use strategy. The more I researched the more it became clear that BCH was the real Bitcoin and will win in the long run.

I read this forum everyday and I love how every post is focused around helping spread adoption and scaling instead of "when moon lambo". I follow Dr. Wright and Roger on twitter and watch every nChain video, the recent Satoshi's Vision speeches and the Deconomy debate. Dr. Wright has said that he doesn't want a culture of "hodlers", he wants people who will work and help spread adoption and this really inspired me to think about how I can help.

So here is my pitch to the BCH community, to Roger Ver, to Dr. Wright, to Calvin Ayre, to everyone who wants to see BCH grow into what we all know it is destined for. I want to ask for investment in exchange for a minority or majority stake in my company to transform it into focusing solely on driving BCH adoption to millions of gamers. This not only includes immediate adoption from our current game with over 600k active users (and 4k+ new users everyday) but also creating new games for BCH. I especially want to see what types of games can be developed on the BCH blockchain with the coming OP codes. I believe BCH adoption through gaming will be a fantastic way to get users who actually USE Bitcoin Cash and don't just buy it to hodl.

You may be thinking that this sounds like a great idea but what do I need investment for to do this? Well with the right investors it may be possible to focus on creating games that are more about driving adoption than turning a profit. Meaning someone who has a significant investment into BCH may care more about how much we can drive adoption instead of how much profit we generated. This type of adoption over profits strategy could allow us to do a lot more than a traditional gaming for profit business.

Roger Ver was the first investor in Bitcoin companies and I believe Dr. Wright worked in casino gaming for a number of years. I hope that these influential people will see the potential in having an established gaming company focused on BCH. I ask the community to please upvote and help me reach out to Roger, Dr. Wright, Calvin and others who may have the resources to make this a reality. I know Roger frequently posts on here as memorydealers. Roger if this is something interesting to you please reach out to me and we can go into a more in-depth discussion in private.

Important notes: This isn't my real reddit account. I made this account so I could have a public post about this topic and gauge the interest. I assure you this isn't a larp or troll.

The company has had multiple years of growth and profits. I am not asking for investment into a failing company. I am happy to share delicate details under a basic NDA.

I would be happy to take investment fully in BCH. Could be one of the first (if not the first?) company to be purchased for Bitcoin Cash. Pretty cool!

I'll be actively answering questions as best as I can.

Merchant Payment System - am I an idiot?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 11:26 PM PDT

I am a merchant. I have been accepting bitcoin for many years and have profited handsomely for my efforts. However I have never liked using merchant services to accept payment. I have mainly used Bitpay but did flirt a little with Coinbase in the early days.

Why am I using a third party to accept Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. How is this being my own bank. This has been my question since day one and still bothers me. I've never wanted instant conversion to fiat and have never had that option anyway being in a country whose fiat is not on any merchant services list.

I have been waiting for five years for what seems an obvious solution to me. Still it has not appeared which makes me think I must be a genius because I am the only one who has thought of it, or I am an idiot who does not properly understand the problems involved. Please help me understand, am I a genius or an idiot.

    So here is my solution.

Create an app that allows me (or my staff) to enter the fiat amount I wish to charge. The app will then create a QR code that my customer can scan with his wallet. The QR Code will contain my receive address and the amount of the payment. The customer makes the payment and my app alerts me when the transaction is seen on the blockchain.

The app knows my receive address because I entered several into the app which it rotates through. The app ideally can monitor for a double spend and alert in real time if an attempt is seen. The app know the receive address but has no access to private keys and is not a wallet. Its primary purpose is to be an easy interface that my staff can operate.

That's it. A perfect solution for me. I don't want to run servers or nodes or third party services in my business. I just want the customer's money transferred from their wallet to my wallet effortlessly.

After waiting so long for this (to me) obvious and simple app to appear and it continuing to not appear I have decided I should do something about it. I have started the process of getting the app written. I do not have the skills to write it myself so I am going to pay someone to develop it for me. Once you get into the technical nitty gritty then it is not quite as easy to do as I have suggested. Between me and my developer we have a fairly well laid out plan and specification. It's going to cost me 10 to 20 thousand dollars to get this done.

I am not in this to make money I just want my simple app. I have discussed monetizing the app in some way to get my investment back but I don't like the options. If I go ahead then it will probably be a free donation based app. Bitcoin has been very good to me so if I can not recoup my investment I'll be OK and just consider it giving something back.

    So am I missing something.

If I am an idiot please tell me (gently). If you have some suggestions I am all ears.

My favorite gambling site started accepting Bitcoin Cash!

    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 10:56 PM PDT

I don't see this brought up enough: One of the biggest threats to Bitcoin Cash right now is the medium we use to discuss it. Is there anyone actively developing a decentralized BCH social media platform?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2018 06:38 AM PDT

We've used this forum for discussion for a long time. Too long. Reddit admins are not favorable to Bitcoin Cash and this place could be shut down on a whim. Then what? Our community would be divided in a single swift movement.

Yours.org is great, but perhaps too "article focused" and not discussion focused. Plus, it's centralized and therefor theoretically corruptible. I wouldn't mind it as a hub though, I just wish it were more forum-like.

I also realize a decentralized platform would probably be very difficult to monetize so there isn't a strong economic incentive to create such a place.

If someone wants to attack Bitcoin Cash they would start right here on r/btc. What can we do about that?
