I made a profitability calculator which can track any Cryptonight coin, and also gives you full control over all your mining profits and pending balances!

    Posted: 28 Mar 2018 06:28 AM PDT

I recently made a profitability calculator, which can track any cryptonight coin of your choice (not just limited to those on whattomine etc.) , and got some great responses to it. I have worked a lot on it and have just released version 2. It features: * Track any cryptonight coin, just enter your pool API address and wallet address * Tracks mining profitability in any FIAT currency * Keep total track of all coins you mine through the use of Pool API, converted to the FIAT of your choosing * Calculate based on your hashrate, and calculate based on Current network diff or 24hr average diff * Ability to add all mined coins into a dedicated monthly sheet to keep track of earnings over chosen time periods * Calculate time to reach return on investment. Just enter what you paid for your rig, as well as how much you pay for electricity * Prices are automatically pulled from CMC through cleverly designed formulas which works with CMC API, just enter the Ticker symbol and it's all there * Ability to add coin prices for coins not on CMC, through Stocks.exchange API, or any other API (or manually) of your choice * Totally free to use, of course, just make a copy! * Link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/15AP9dNgbCGRNFrpmYU3hqWABsgM7QZ53AFP0kHjCDtM/edit?usp=sharing

Finally about done! I definitely just polished a turd. Dell server turned into a dual miner. My goal was to stay under a $1000 on this build and i pulled it off. $850 was my total cost and thats including 4x r9 280x gpus that im still waiting on. Built with mostly leftovers.

    H110-d3a 6gpu woes...

    Posted: 27 Mar 2018 08:32 PM PDT

First rig I built for dedicated mining. I have a gigabyte H110-D3A and 6x GTX1060 gpus. They are all run on risers and I have a 750w PS running the MB and 4 GPUs and a 550w PSU running a 2 GPUs and a few fans. I cannot get the system to boot with 6 GPUs. It will run 5 fine, even under load (stress test). I know the GPU and risers are good because I swapped everything out to try and locate the problem. Even the last PCI-e port was checked. Every time I try to boot 6 GPUs, I get a quick BIOS screen (press delete for bios) then a blinking cursor as if no OS was installed. I can't get to BIOS, nothing. Any thoughts? Also, any idea what "mining mode" does in this boards bios? When I enabled it, it seemed to render my system unusable- as apparently the 4g encoding doesn't play nice with my stuff. When I enable mining mode but disable 4g encoding, it runs but I can only access the system by RDC and have no idea how to get into the BIOS to turn it off. Any help would be appreciated.

What to help alpha teste on a new blockchain network? Only 0.7% cpu is required. It is a free solution for schools/students etc. We need help-thx!

    Posted: 28 Mar 2018 01:17 AM PDT

Thanks for taking the time to click on the subject. I am involved with a very very unique blockchain project. The solution is for posting "credentials" of any kind to the blockchain so interested parties (like employers etc) can instantly verify truthfulness in CVs/Resumes, job applications etc. It will be completely free for all schools & students. The test network is up and running. It is Ethereum with Clique PoA (exact same as being run on the Rinkeby testnet). Even a notebook works. Typical Windows resources are .07 CPU, 100 megs memory & 10 megs of disk. That's right MEGABYTEs of memory and disk--not gigs. We have step-by-step instructions for Windows setup that takes less than 5 minutes. We have about 2 dozen nodes running but are looking for more--lots more. Send me an email here at Reddit if you want to check it out and I'll get back to you with the details. Thanks.

Noticing used GPU prices going down, anyone else?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2018 03:03 PM PDT

The 1060's around my parts have dropped about $40 in price. Might be due to higher supply of GPUs on the used market.

    HD7970 HiveOS compatibility.

    Posted: 27 Mar 2018 11:50 AM PDT

I recently got my rig set up with hiveOS. My 1080 ti works great, but I can't seem to get my HD7970 to work.

The little research I've done on the hiveos forums hasn't been much help, and many people say it's a lost cause.

As far as I know, hiveOS is based off of ubuntu which is compatible with a 7970 depending on the version. Anybody else been able to get it working? Or does anybody know what release of ubuntu hiveos is based on so I can try to find the right drivers?

RX 480s vs RX 580s, 480s more effecient?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2018 02:32 PM PDT

So I have a handful of RX 480s that seem to all run around 60-90w, where-as all of my RX 580s can only get down to 90-110w... All run 29-30 MH

Somehow I got my PC to recognize one of my 580s as a 480. Same deal. Was able to drop down to 80w at the same MH as it was at 110w (undervolted less, able to drop MHz more).

Are the 480s bios just this much better? Is it beneficial (power wise) to flash a 580 to a 480 somehow?

Would it be possible to set something up that automatically switches between garlicoin and vertcoin depending on the difficulty?

    Posted: 27 Mar 2018 02:00 PM PDT

I mine garlicoin and vertcoin, but I would like to set up an auto-switcher so I can mine whichever coin if it gets below a certain difficulty instead of doing it manually.

Masari / MSR mining on a GTX 970

    Posted: 27 Mar 2018 01:54 PM PDT

Just curious if anyone has any experience with or can estimate hash rates for a GTX 970 mining Masari? Thinking of adding one to my rig, as a friend has one for sale fairly cheap.
