What are as of today, the best solution you know of for keeping files in the cloud safe with encryption?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2018 05:50 AM PST

I am considering taking a 3tb online storage. As an IT consultant, the idea of putting files in clear on some random computer is not even taken in consideration.

I used to keep my whole work laptop encrypted with Truecrypt (7.1a) which worked very good for me. I trust the program and I loved how well designed is.

I want to know if there is some way to do the same thing in a convenient way for keeping the files synced online.

I'm planning to use Degoo and I would like to use Truecrypt, as of my understandings, Boxcryptor has all his own homemade stuff (his own encryption, is own way to control the whole process). There is some other clever option beside just making a big chunky volume and upload it every time it changes, or making separate volumes every time I want to upload something?

I've read some redditors around here but all revolves around putting the vole crypted volume on the cloud every time or using Boxcryptor

    Thanks.

Trying to utilize Symmetric SecretKeyEntry [DES key] in JCEKS keystore to decrypt file with bash script, except nothing is working. Any input greatly appreciated.

    Posted: 05 Mar 2018 06:33 AM PST

Hey everyone, so I've already spent a couple hours on this trying to utilize the symmetric key to decrypt a file outside of a java program but unfortunately nothing has been successful. I'm been attempting to pipe the output of a

'keytool -list' into an 'openssl enc -d -K' command as well as import the jceks into a p12 but that gives me an error stating

    NoSuchAlgorithmException: unrecognized algorithm name: DES

but that isn't working either.... does anyone have any input as to what I could be doing wrong?

    Thank you in advance

    Mifare Classic NFC cracking

    Posted: 05 Mar 2018 07:53 AM PST

    Consider this scenario:

2 written MIFARE Classic (ISO 14443 A) cards, 1 blank MIFARE Classic tag. 1 standard reader that operates on each door, locked shut so no way to tamper.

Card 1 opens door 1 and door 2. Card 2 opens door 3 and door 2.

Cards 1 and 2 are both part of a larger subset of hundreds of thousands of cards that open door 2, but these are the two I have access to right now.

I'd like to write card 3 such that it can open door 2; using the Android NFC reader I was able to get the hexdump of the card's pages, but don't really have any information about the door or what values could exist in order to crack using standard utilities. Any ideas as to how to accomplish this (if this is even possible)? I'm not sure I totally understand, but would I be right in assuming the records that the reader associates with door 2 should be present in both cards?
