How can Ripple encourage community developers and entrepreneurs to use XRP for applications? Posted: 27 Feb 2018 06:59 PM PST I think 10,000-20,000 XRP per year from escrow to the best proposed application (perhaps chosen by the community?) is enough to activate the XRP community to start seriously developing. The community is so large, who knows what kind of good ideas will come up using the best and fastest digital asset. Seems like a win-win. And 10-20k XRP per year for Ripple at this point is nothing. W3C Payment Request/Handler API - Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Mozilla - Ripple! Posted: 27 Feb 2018 04:48 AM PST Just want to share something I have found today. May be not new NEWS but anyway. Developers at some of the top tech companies (see title) have created a browser API that could soon make it easier to buy goods and services online with cryptocurrency. The article was published here: https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-browser-google-apple-move-adopt-crypto-compatible-api/ already last year. Detailed explanation of the W3C Payment Request API is available here: https://www.w3.org/TR/payment-request/ Devs/Editors of the document mentioned here are: Adrian Bateman, Microsoft Corporation Zach Koch, Google Roy McElmurry, Facebook Domenic Denicola, Google Marcos Cáceres, Mozilla If you check Zack Koch's followers on Githup (he has 17), you will find Evan Schwartz who is working @Ripple. For Domenic Denicola, Software Engineer @Google, you find his name also in the doc: https://www.w3.org/TR/payment-handler/, which is related to the above. Also part of the editors here is Adrian Hope-Bailie, Web Standards Officer @Ripple and Co-Chair Web Payments Working Group at W3C. So it seems they are working on a new W3C compatible Payment Method within Browsers and Ripple seems to be highly involved. What do you think? [link] [comments]
Why doesn't XRP price react to good news? Posted: 27 Feb 2018 08:32 PM PST With the influx of positive news in the past 3-4 weeks; several new multinational clients, financial institution adaptation, successful pilot projects- why hasn't ripple's price been rising, even a little bit? Instead its consolidating near the 94-95cent range for quite some time...what sort of event or news will it take for ripple to finally get to the level that it should be valued at. Has anyone tried the Cuallet App? Posted: 27 Feb 2018 06:52 PM PST Just being curious what you are experiencing as I'd really love to try the app. :) I downloaded the Cuallet app from Apples AppStore. Unfortunately I can't even register as it's asking me to give them the activation code before I can hit register to receive the code. (Besides the fact of about 10 bugs in the process of getting through the 5 step process and the app crashing a couple of times...) Is it my phone or is the app still a mess? I know it was just launched and understandably has some bugs, but it's not working at all. :( I really want to play around with it and possibly send a few USD to a friend or Reddit user with Cuallet. Can't wait for XRP being in full production here and make a transaction powered by XRP. ... workaround is to register in your browser. [link] [comments]
Why I believe ripple is the best crypto to invest in! Posted: 27 Feb 2018 02:15 AM PST So many people don't understand that Ripple AND XRP are going to make it FAR FAR longer than Bitcoin will simply because XRP knows how to play ball. As much as people might LIKE the idea of a utopian currency that's separate from government reach, the reality of the situation is... Ripple works with banks, which are never going away and ripple works actively with governments, regulators and they CALL for regulation themselves as well. This is what the government wants and needs to hear. A lot of people are unaware that the federal reserve actually tested and approved Ripple as well. Ripple and XRP are going to be absolute monoliths in the coming years simply because there's a face to the company, that face is public, active and is ready to work with regulators, even BETTER is that most of the ripple boards members are former bankers and US regulators, so these people KNOW each other and are talking with banks around the world to secure partnerships. why do you think ripple has 3 new partnerships each WEEK!? Stock up while you can because XRP is very affordable for the time being. [link] [comments]

Why does this sub have the "Controversial" tab removed from the header? Posted: 27 Feb 2018 09:28 PM PST I find the controversial tab useful in subreddits to identify posts that go against the grain or generally present unsettling and unpopular information. Why does the Ripple subreddit have the tab for this removed from the header? Was it deemed not useful? By who and why? For those that are interested you can still access this page directly via the url (here's the link) but I'm curious as to why this is necessary in the first place as most subreddits have this visible by default? The big barrier holding Crypto Currencies back Posted: 27 Feb 2018 11:54 AM PST "The main feature of crypto currencies is their anonymity. I don't think this is a good thing. The Governments ability to find money laundering and tax evasion and terrorist funding is a good thing. Right now crypto currencies are used for buying fentanyl and other drugs so it is a rare technology that has caused deaths in a fairly direct way. I think the speculative wave around ICOs and crypto currencies is super risky for those who go long." - Bill Gates This was on an AMA, I understand this perspective. I don't know if the government would ever support something that is so anonymous due to the reasons above. I guess the crypto currency could just stick to its own lane, but then the ideas that these businesses (Ripple, for example) are dwarfed, because from the looks of it, they expect Ripple to be a common banking tool, which wouldn't work out due to the government not supporting the anonymity of it. I was curious on your guys' thoughts on this! Thanks for reading

Are there other projects that people are working on to use XRP other than Ripple Labs? Posted: 27 Feb 2018 01:43 PM PST Ripple Labs is working on cross boarder payments and that is it (this being a very huge thing but still just one part of what XRP could be). This has been said many times and is talked about with respect to the Peanut Butter Manifesto. Ripple has also talked about many other ideas and projects that they could see XRP used for. My question is, is anyone else working on any XRP based projects? I know a few days ago someone posted a picture of a Debit/Credit card that had XRP on it and said that they send the concept to Ripple, but again Ripple Labs is not working on that. Are there projects out there that are working on using XRP? [link] [comments] |
