Posted: 20 Feb 2018 09:58 AM PST Obviously XRP has real traction and legit use cases with many institutions testing either xCurrent/xRapid - however would you invest in Ripple the company over XRP if you had the chance? And yes, Ripple is kind of hard to evaluate with its large but illiquid holding of XRP, but anyone care to make the argument for one over the other? [link] [comments]

Best way to purchase XRP with lowest starting fees? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 10:50 AM PST I've never bought any crypto before but I've been interested in it for a while and have been doing a lot of research on Ripple/XRP lately. However I haven't really seen a way to purchase XRP from USD without a decent deposit/transfer fee. I was wondering if any of you know of a good way to go USD -> XRP to start out. I'm a college student so I wouldn't be putting a ton of money into this so decent sized flat fees are a bit problematic for me [link] [comments]
First exchange to offer XRP in India - btcxindia shuts down Posted: 19 Feb 2018 10:06 PM PST Dear Member, It's been 4 years since we opened BTCXIndia, and 2 years since we opened ETHEXIndia. We have served 35000+ customers during the years and have witnessed the BTC price go up 50x and the ETH price go up 100x and XRP price go up 5x. We have kept your crypto safe, and allowed you to trade against others on equal terms, in a safe environment, while adhering to KYC & AML and other tax compliance requirements. As we heard in the budget speech, the Indian government is discouraging crypto currency trading. This has been clear also by government actions in the last year, and has put our business under a lot of stress and putting us in a position where we don't feel that we can continue our business in a professional manner any longer. Until new rules are in place for tokens on public blockchains, we are halting our trading ( XRP/INR pair) platform and will focus 100% on our consultancy working with permissioned blockchains. All trading activity will be halted as of March 5th 2018. Please withdraw all assets from your account before then. The consultancy business started in April 2017, and have so far developed client registry platforms, automated escrow management and payment solutions for a number of clients in the financial, health and agriculture sectors. We are launching full fledged blockchain labs http://schainlabs.com/ on March 09, 2018 for Blockchain based application development and consultancy. We hope that this work will help the government seeing the huge benefits that India can derive from blockchain technologies, and eventually promote progressive and clear regulation also for the public blockchain space. It has been our pleasure serving you, and again, please empty your accounts as soon as possible to avoid wallet maintenance fees in line with our Terms and Conditions We wish all our customers the best, and apologise for any inconvenience. Thanks and Regards, BTCXIndia team. [link] [comments]
Is there a way to estimate how much fiat has been invested in cryptocurrencies? Posted: 20 Feb 2018 07:16 AM PST The crypto market cap stands at $470 billion today, recovering from a low of $323 billion on the 5th of February 2018. The all time high was reached on the 7th of January at $824 billion. Yet, market cap tells us little about the actual fiat money that has been invested. When I invest $100 buying BTC or XRP and that causes the price of BTC or XRP to rise by 1%, your existing holdings of XRP increase in value even thought you haven't invested more fiat. The converse hold true for price decreases. So my question is, can anyone calculate or estimate how much fiat has ever been invested in crypto since its inception? If, not, can you take a wild guess? Is it 50% of current market cap, 75% or 150%? [link] [comments]
