Best way to transfer to fiat...

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 03:40 AM PST

Hey everyone. Just curious what everyone is doing to avoid high transfer fees to convert mined coin into fiat. What exchanges would you recommend to incur the lowest fees possible?

    MiningPoolHub + NiceHash + WhatToMine = ?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 01:24 AM PST

    Hi all!

Let's assume someone has the following mining objectives:

    1. Build a setup-and-forget rig, because personal time is too important to be entirelly spent monitoring hashing power and currency rates.
    2. Always mine the most profitable coin for their hardware, even if that means changing to other pools.
    3. Automatically exchange all mined coins to preffered one.

At this time the 2 most popular ways to approach these objectives are:

    1. NiceHash. It pays in BTC but has 2 disadvantages: a) Its switching algo is not transparent, so you can't be sure they always choose the best for you and b) You can't change the payout coin.
    2. MiningPoolHub. You can choose the payout coin and it supports both in-algo and multi-algo coin switching.
    3. MultiPoolMiner. Powerfull but, no GUI?

Methods (1) and (2) are different pools and cannot be used simultaneously for auto switching.

So what's left? is there a way to easily setup a rig for auto switching, without limits regarding algos, pools and miners?

Please let me know if I'm missing something.

What I am trying to do:

Yesterday I built a new small rig with 2 1070ti.

I'm using BiggerDigger, a mining automator I created.

(This post is not about promoting it, I just need some advice)

I set it up to check WhatToMine.com every 10 minutes and auto mine the most profitable coin for my hardware, using ccminer and EWBF.

The 'miners.txt' file is as follows:

    # USAGE: coin_name | miner_executable | parameters | pool | wallet

    BitcoinGold | C:\Miners\EWBF\miner.exe | --server europe.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com --user user.worker --pass x --port 20595 | https://bitcoin-gold.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=dashboard | https://bitcoin-gold.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=account&action=pooledit Nicehash-Equihash | C:\Miners\EWBF\miner.exe | --server equihash.eu.nicehash.com --user user.worker --pass x --port 3357 | https://www.nicehash.com/miner/my | https://www.nicehash.com/wallet Nicehash-Lyra2REv2 | C:\Miners\ccminer\ccminer-x64.exe | -a lyra2rev2 -o stratum+tcp://lyra2rev2.eu.nicehash.com:3347 -u user.worker -p x | https://www.nicehash.com/miner/my | https://www.nicehash.com/wallet Zcash | C:\Miners\EWBF\miner.exe | --server europe.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com --user user.worker --pass x --port 20570 | https://zcash.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=dashboard | https://zcash.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=account&action=pooledit Zclassic | C:\Miners\EWBF\miner.exe | --server europe.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com --user user.worker --pass x --port 20575 | https://zclassic.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=dashboard | https://zclassic.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=account&action=pooledit Zencash | C:\Miners\EWBF\miner.exe | --server europe.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com --user user.worker --pass x --port 20594 | https://zencash.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=dashboard | https://zencash.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=account&action=pooledit

In brief, I set it up to:

    • Mine the most profitable coins/algos for nVidia cards (Equihash/Lyra2REv2).
    • Auto switch between MiningPoolHub and NiceHash (because I wanted the auto-exchange feature).

I'd appreciate any answer to the following questions:

    • Has anyone compared WhatToMine and MiningPoolHub switching? I've noticed that sometimes they don't agree about the most profitable coin. Today, for example, for a period of time MPH selected Zencash while WTM selected Zclassic. Has anyone noticed significant profit difference between the two? Is it just a matter of which exchanges are used for evaluation?
    • How exactly does MPH's multi-algo switching work? It uses a batch to loop between all possible miners and the pool exits all except the optimum one?
    • Is there a better selection of miners than the one I chose?
    • Is there any other way to achieve the above objectives?

One GPU 10C hotter than the others

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 07:39 AM PST

4x RX570 4gb rig, Anorak BIOS and using MSI afterburner. One GPU runs consistently 8-12C hotter than the rest. I have to use afterburner to keep that one around 22MH/s while the rest can pull 27 with no temp issues. I have tried changing the thermal paste on the hot one and didn't notice much change. Where can I start with this?

edit - should note they all have the same bios, they are all XFX RX570's

Windows 8.1 AMD / Crimson Drivers

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 03:06 AM PST

    https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Radeon-Software-Crimson-ReLive-Edition-17.4.4-Release-Notes.aspx

It took a lot of searching - nearly every site said that 8.1 had no AMD drivers and that my options were either 7 or 10.

I've been using 10 with three cards and pixelpatched Blockchain drivers, but after a few days programs would start loading with white screens -- can't change screen resolution, can't load this, nada.

Downgrading to 8.1, so I can disable windows updates and have a more familiar system.

I'm posting this here so that hopefully this fresher post will be closer to the top of a google search.

My shipping container mining rig farm

    Posted: 17 Feb 2018 08:29 AM PST

Finally ready to share my mining rig shipping container. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that some of the rigs are plugged into WIFI Connected 220V switches that also have Kw meters so if I had to do a hard reset over the net, I can. Shipping container was about $2,300 delivered. Temps on cards run around 60 to 70 C. I get around 4 air exchanges a minute.

Where I build the rigs: https://imgur.com/cCBDOf1 Random build pics of container: https://imgur.com/Hun7adO Video: https://youtu.be/8ixllaTughM

I searched a lot and could not find any amateur shipping container mining farms. There are a couple of companies that showed animated ones as a product, but I couldn't find actual builds.

I would caution everyone that it's currently 50 F in Texas, and while I might look smarter than the average bear now, when it's 115 F this summer I might have a lot of egg on my face. I do have an extra 3000 CFM fan that can be installed, and we can put a car port over the container as well. I've tried to anticipate questions with the video and pics, but am happy to stay active on this thread if anyone has any specific questions. I built the container because my warehouse only has 120 Amps of 220 available and I outgrew it, plus it was just so hot in there I didn't enjoy hanging out in it anymore.

Container has a couple of security features, and is on a piece of land operated by a friend of mine, who happens to be a welder and runs a welding shop on the property. My agreement with him was to install everything and I supply all the material. Additionally, as many cards as he wants to supply, I will supply all the other materials and builds for rigs for him. He chose 2 rigs for now. Good deal both ways..

Installed a two phase line from my electrical panel and setup my PDU this weekend. Is it okay that I am getting 248v from the wall?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 06:24 AM PST

Each of my phases coming into the house measures 124v and I am getting 248v to my PDU. The PDU is alarming and I think it's because the voltage is over 240v. Does this sound right? And if so, what can I do?

The PDU alarm was amber last night so I plugged in two miners to test overnight and they crashed. They were always very stable when I had them on 120v. Today the alarm lights on the PDU are red. The documentation for this HP S124 PDU is terrible and it looks like it's complaining about being overvolted. But is 8 volts really too much? It's rated at 240v max input.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mining with 1x 480 - Claymore with nanopool best?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 06:09 AM PST

So I am not much into Eth mining, more into investing in coins but I have a spare rx480 that I am not using.

Been mining ETH with Claymore (29 mh/s) on nanopool until now. I am going to hit 0.05 Eth for my payout. The question is - do I keep mining with Claymore + nanopool or do you guys recommend switching?

Phoenix miner? Nicehash? Whats the most "profitable" for me?

    GTX 1070 ti fan curve

    Posted: 17 Feb 2018 10:22 PM PST

Just finished setting up my evga 1070 ti rigs. I'm curious to what others have set for their temperature limit and fan curve for the gtx 1070 ti.

    • My temp limit is 80*, which is 85% of max limit.

    • My fan curve is 25* - 0% rpm, 40* - 40% rpm, 60* - 70% rpm, 75* - 100% rpm.

    Posted: 17 Feb 2018 08:58 PM PST

My RX480s only have a BIOS mod for an extra 4 MH/s. Bought one 570 as everyone said they're beastly. What gives?

The smart plugs are warm and I am drawing about 900w from the 1800 watt load. Is this much heat normal?

How much power do i need?(PSUs)

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 03:58 AM PST

Hey, i bought lots of GPUs without calculating the exact power i need. 3x1080Ti(FE) 7x1070GTX 2x1070Ti

    I'm not sure i did the right calculations, but this is how i look at it: 1080gtx Ti = 300w per card -> 300x3 1070gtx = 200w per card -> 200x7 1070gtx Ti = 230w per card -> 230x2

    300x3 + 200x7 + 230x2 = 2760. So i need 2 PSUs of 1500. 1500x2 = 3000. S

    Does that seem ok?

    Thanks.

    What cards to buy?

    Posted: 18 Feb 2018 03:20 AM PST

Gday gentlemen and ladies. I currently have one 1080ti and two titan x mining away. I live in Australia I'm looking to spend 2400 on cards. At the moment that will get me two 1080tis or 3 1070 with change left over.

Looking at profitability on nicehash the 1080ti are near 10.5 month roi and the 1070 are 7.2 months.

I'm torn on what to buy. Any help would be appreciated.

    Need help with my rig

    Posted: 17 Feb 2018 11:39 PM PST

I have been mining ETH for 7 days now and earned only 45 usd. This is before electricity. I'm using 3 Asus rx 580 dual cards. 2 of them are 8gb the other one is 4gb. The hashrate is 87 mh/s. According to online calculators my profit should be higher. Any advice? I'm using the 2miners pool.
