Hey /r/Cryptocurrency, I need your help. Cryptopia stole/lost my deposit.

    Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:21 PM PST

Hey guys, so here's the deal. I sent about a quarter of an Ether to my Cryptopia account. The transaction went through, no issues. You can see it on the Ethereum blockchain here:

    0xf3c9fb93f943d23dd487be1fa66812699de6198a38c9c94198a61ae4a3a2c191

When it got to Cryptopia however, Cryptopia says I "deposited" 0.00000000 Ethereum (aka it's gone) and I can only assume it was a glitch or they stole it. Picture below related:

    https://imgur.com/a/7eay6

This happened yesterday, so I know it's not just a glitch that would fix by logging out/back in, etc. I know it's not a lot, but this is a very strange thing to happen, and if I don't get my ether back it will be hard to trust Cryptopia going forward. I sent in a support ticket already, however the average wait time is nearly three weeks, and so I thought I would post here to see if Reddit could help me get it back any faster, if possible.

    Thanks for the help!

2018 didn't start all that great. We have been going through a heavy shit storm the last few weeks filled with losses and FUD and weak hands trashtalking crypto and leaving because they didn't make a million dollars in a few weeks. I think it takes a lot of discipline and especially FAITH in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to stay in the game. Especially new people who started in december who aren't used to heavy dips (including me) deserve an applause for making it through this difficult period. Even though we may slightly disagree on the potential of Bitcoin and all the different altcoins, I still feel like we are in this together to thrive for a future that relies more on reliability and trust. Not all coins and projects in your portfolio will survive, but you still are part of shaping the future and you should be proud of that.

+1 for Kucoin. Saved my life

    Posted: 16 Feb 2018 05:03 PM PST

Posted this about 2 days ago https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7xsu2x/2fa_recover/?ref=share&ref_source=link : i didn't take a backup of my google 2fa and my phone broke. I just get locked out of all my accounts but the most important was the one on kucoin, were i have most of my saving.

Sent an email to the support, they answered me in 2 hours with all the instructions to deactivate my google 2fa and in just 1 day or less more i'm in again. They still have a bad english, but this was much more then i would never expect! Thanks Kucoin!

Proposal: Self-regulate and make money at the same time. Kill Pump and Dump groups from within.

    Posted: 16 Feb 2018 11:53 PM PST

    Commodity Futures Trading Commission

"If you have original information that leads to a successful enforcement action that leads to monetary sanctions of $1 million or more, you could be eligible for a monetary award of between 10 percent and 30 percent."

That's a $100,000 to $300,000 payout for each Pump and Dump group they shut down. Sounds like a win-win for everyone. The only people who lose out are the scammers and orchestrators of the PnDs.

    Proposal

Anyone who's aware of a Pump and Dump group, let's collate a comprehensive list for the CFTC to look into. These can be Telegram groups, Discord Channels, Twitter users, Youtube channels or anything else. Something comprehensive and all in one place would be a very useful resource for the CFTC to broaden their investigations and make the entire Cryptoasset market safer for the average investor.

This is the page for making a report for those who have information available.

Pro-tip Those who are involved in the upper echelons of Pump and Dump groups, start collecting evidence so you can snitch on the rest of your group before they give you up :) Don't be caught in the dump. They're doing the same to you right now.

Glad to see cryptos gaining back momentum after the disastrous last month. Still a log way to go to the almost 800 bil cap they used to be but its good progress compared to going down to 300 bIl. Hopefully we will be able to see a teillion dollar cap by the end of the year..
