Posted: 05 Jan 2018 06:15 AM PST Just curious to what those with multiple rigs are using for a complete overview of their systems. I have been using AwesomeMiner for a while, but continually notice profits are lower that some of its alternatives. However, I have been sticking with it because I can manage so many rigs with it. Just curious to what everyone else is using for multiple rigs. [link] [comments]

Has anyone tested Deep in the Mines products? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:34 AM PST Title is quite self-explanatory. They seem to be an upcoming competitor to Parallel Miner with their server PSU kits and breakout boards, and I was wondering if someone had tested their products before I get my wallet out. Here's a link to their PSUs. [link] [comments]
Receive notification if miner is down Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:04 AM PST Is there a way I can get a mobile notification if my miner has been down for an extended period of time? I was thinking of something like IFTTT could work. I use awesomeminer currently. [link] [comments]
Can I add a single RX 570 to my 6x RX580 rig Posted: 05 Jan 2018 08:24 AM PST Without blowing up my EVGA 1300w G2 gold PSU? Right now I'm downvolting all of my 580 cards, and I'm drawing 813w from the wall. Can I safely add a 570 card? I have two 570s I can add, but I think adding just one might be pushing it.... Current Specs: Gpu: 6 x (MSI RX 580 GAMING X 8G) Psu: EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 Mobo: TB250-BTC+ OS: Win 10 64 bit Risers: Victony Risers PCI-E Overclock: software MSI afterburner Settings: -93 mv core/ 1240 MHz core clock/ 2250 MHz memory clock. Mining software: cast xmr Power consumption at the wall is 813w with these settings. [link] [comments]
can a single PSU pcie 6 pin be split into 2 ? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 07:11 AM PST i have a evga 750 gq PSU, i have a single cable for a 6pin pcie coming direct from the psu. Am i ok to split this ? into 2 ? to either power 2 graphics cards or 2 risers ? My understanding is its an 18 gauge wire, 6pin is capable of powering upto 150w ? as the psu also has some 6+2 connectors but my understanding is the 2 pins dont actually supply power ? i have tried to look around for this specific answer but come up short, some people seem to say yes and others no. thanks in advance [link] [comments]
ROI based on NiceHash Profit Calculator at $.21/w for various graphics cards. Posted: 04 Jan 2018 09:11 PM PST I made a chart with various graphics cards that lists: the cost, profit/day, profit/month, break even in months, months to first $1000, months to first $2000, and revenue by month for two years. Obviously the assumption is that difficulty and profitability won't change (which we know isn't true). So use this chart to help you figure out which graphics card is right for you if you're planning on making a mining rig, and hopefully you'll be able to make an informed decision. How to verify components on prebuilt rig Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:57 AM PST I may be buying a prebuilt rig from someone nearby and was wondering if there is anything I should be wary of as far as false cards or anything goes. It's a 7 GPU system, RX 580s. I know it's probably better to build my own and learn as I go, but I've got so little time with a toddler and all that I think this is a good route to go. Additionally, I've been unable to piece together a similar system for anywhere close to what this person is charging. Any tips on what to look out for? Are fake GPUs common? Should I ask to see it booted up and running before paying? Any suggestions appreciated. Alternatively, if there are any reputable online retailers I'd be willing to look into that, too. Preparing Automatic Update error Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:42 AM PST Hey guys! I had my miner purring like a cat for the last few months without issues. Then I decided I wanted to add another two GPUs to the rig. I had some issues when I first plugged the new cards in, so I DDU'd, tried installing one at a time. I finally got three cards working - one of the new 580s I tried adding and two 570s. I added one more 570 and all the cards failed. Now, I get a "preparing automatic update" error when I start my rig. It goes black after that and nothing after. I've tried hard power off to trigger the windows 10 boot window, but it won't load. I don't know what the fuck I did or if I messed some setting up in the bios, but I can't get anything to work. Any help would be great. Here's my breakdown: MoBo: MSI Z170A GPUS: MSI RX 570 Gaming x 4G Risers: PCIe VER 007 HD: SanDisk SSD PLUS 120GB Solid State Drive (SDSSDA-120G-G26) PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2 CPU: Intel BX80662G4400 Pentium Processor G4400 3.3 GHz FCLGA1151 [link] [comments]
My antivirus continuously triggered by mining, recommendations? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 05:30 AM PST My antivirus on Windows 10, Avira, is continuously triggered by my mining. Yes I set all mining software to be excluded and ignored, but it keeps moving them to quarantine randomly. Needless to say I won't be using Avira much longer. Which antivirus software have you had success with to not interfere (antivirus where you say exclude and it listens) while running all your mining programs? Norton? [link] [comments]
How long have your Vega RX's been mining for? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 03:55 AM PST I have a bunch of Vega 56's all flashed to 64 bios with stable memory settings at 1050/925mv. They can run for weeks without crashing, however I am noticing that the cards seem to be failing (would not be detected upon start up) one by one over the past 5 weeks and I've had to RMA 4 of them for refunds as reference cards are EOL. I've only had them for 2-3 months. Considering the amount of time I've owned these cards, I'm wondering if flashing the 64 bios and running 1050 memory clocks does any good for the longevity of these cards, or if it is purely silicon lottery and manufacturing faults? How to ground PSU's in dual-PSU setup? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 08:07 PM PST Does using Add2PSU by itself take care of the grounding issues? Do I need to use something like this? I rather not ground the wires myself. [link] [comments]
How do I support my graphicscards with additional fans? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 03:37 AM PST Hey guys, currently Im happy with my Vega 64s heat production (49°C) as it is winter and I am actually saving on heating costs as well :D However, Im thinking about adding additional fans to the rig to support it in the summer. Ive got a few super quiet fans lying around from an old gaming pc. But how do I add them most efficiently? Ive thought about two possibilities but maybe Im off:
Whats your take? Am I completely off? Will it even help at all? What can you recommend? Thanks in advance guys! [link] [comments]

Is this the best way to power risers? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 02:43 AM PST Hello, I have a rig with 6 AMD 570 (sapphire), currently they are powered as such (each of them):
Since sata is not recommended I wanted to change to a different type of cable, basically I want to go straight 6pin-to-6pin from PSU to riser, as I understand this is the "best" cable to use (it supports a higher amperage than both sata and molex) My question is: is it feasible to use a 6pin from PSU, to a double 6+2pin on riser (meaning, does the 6pin part of the 6+2 actually work on the 6pin plug on the riser?)...like this cable: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Module-6Pin-to-Dual-PCI-E-PCIE-8Pin-8Pin-6-2Pin-Power-Ribbon-Adapter-Cable/192339322165?epid=23008206304&hash=item2cc8512535:g:LIUAAOSwOA1Z6bk4 Or, is it a better idea to just use a single 6pin to 6pin like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-E-PCIE-PCI-Express-6P-Male-to-6Pin-Male-Graphics-Video-Card-DIY-Power-Cable/142635573758?hash=item2135be21fe:g:5s8AAOSwlptaQJuX and then split it in two with a y-connector like this? https://www.ebay.com/itm/6pin-female-To-Dual-6P-male-pci-e-PCI-Express-graphics-Video-Card-Power-Y-Cable/312024325445?hash=item48a6195d45:g:sAcAAOSw7ThUlwTK Sorry for the convolute question, I'm just trying to use the best tools for the job as there seems to be some confusion regarding risers Thanks [link] [comments]
ATX and Server PSU, how do I allow them to co-exist? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 02:05 AM PST I'm thinking of getting a Server PSU to power my newly bought AMD cards while my corsair 600M powers my mobo, cpu, hard drives etc. I have a breakout board picked, along with a server PSU, have plenty of PCI-E 6 to 6+2 pin connectors... but I have one problem. How do I power on and operate this rig? I can't flip on the ATX power supply then the server power supply, say I hook them up to a power strip so they both get power at the same time, how would I make the computer boot upon receiving power immediately? Maybe I'm heading in the wrong direction, but honestly there seems to be little resources to pull from and many claim it's a common practice. Maybe my google-fu is too weak? Can anyone offer some insight? [link] [comments]
Fan Speed 0 RPM with Vega and RX 580 Posted: 05 Jan 2018 01:48 AM PST Hi All, I just grabbed a Vega 64 to place into my RX 580 rig, however as the Vega 64 has a Alphacool Eiswolf cooler on it all of the fans on my 580's won't start and are stuck to 0. I've also tried to put the stock cooler back on and face the same issue. I've tried forcing the fan speed in Afterburner but it immediately goes back to 0. Same as Wattman. Using blockchain drivers but the latest AMD ones have the same issue. Just wondering what I can do to try and get around this? Currently using Windows 10. Thanks! [link] [comments]
is feasible to run a gpu mining rig remotely? Posted: 05 Jan 2018 01:37 AM PST Hi, i was thinking of setting up a gpu mining rig at my parents as they have plenty of room. Im fairly new to this but is there anyway i can change the coins im mining remotely? Also can i monitor the temperature and performance of the gpus remotely? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jan 2018 12:43 AM PST Hey guys. Long time lurker and have loved all the info this giving community has provided. So far I have only been active on the trading side of the crytpo-space, but want to jump into the mining side to broaden my understanding and horizons. The parts stores in my area have been running out of stock (fully sold out of 570/580, no 1070 or 1070ti < $500USD). I happened to drop by the parts store when they had a shipment come in at the very end of the day, and they told me they wouldn't be updating the inventory until the next day. So there are 32 MSI 1070ti Titanium cards coming in, and they will be priced at $525USD. There aren't many other options, I had tried to buy 8x of the EVGA 1070ti FTW2 but the sales associate apparently 'misplaced' my hold and they were sold to someone else in the 40mins it took for me to drive there (... right...). Anyway... I guess my question is: I am hearing talk that there will be price bumps coming up for numerous cards on both the ATI and nVidia side, and while I know that this isn't a great price on a 1070ti card, it may be my only shot to get a good foothold in the space. What would you guys do in my situation? Show up when the store opens tomorrow and buy them all and make 4x8GPU rigs? The parts store have the rest of the parts to complete the rig, including 8GPU frames. Would really like to get some insight... would prefer not to go through all the trouble of buying the gear if I would be better off waiting for a better or cheaper card to become available! Thanks!! is splitting 1 x 6pin to 2 x 6pin psu cable safe ? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 11:54 PM PST ok so i have a EVGA 750 gq psu, i have 5 1060's in 2 pc's at the moment and i want to put them all in a rig. They tend to all run @ %70 power so i would think 750w should be fine ? Anyway the connections, i was thinking of using the 2 cables with a 6 and 8 pin to power 4 cards. Power the 5th one using a molex to 6 pin adapter ? and the question is, i have 2 x single 6 pin cables which seems to be the same gauge as the above cables with 2 connections so can i safely split the each single cable into two 6 pins for me risers ? Thus powering 4 risers from 2 x single 6 pin cables direct to psu ? This is my psu : https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=210-GQ-0750-V1 and i have 5 x 1060's 4 x pcie 6 pin risers Thanks in advance crypto gods ! [link] [comments]
Need help. Simple Mining OS. Temp issues Posted: 04 Jan 2018 11:32 PM PST 1 1080ti, 2 1070ti, 1 1070. Open air. Can't seem to get the temps in control with or without overclocking. When I was running Windows, I would reduce power using msi afterburner to 80% with a small overclock to the core and memory. My 1080ti keeps very cool at 55-60c. The 1070s i can barely keep below 80. Fans turn 85-100%. Changing the power settings within smos doesn't seem to be doing anything. [link] [comments]
2x 1050Ti, or 1x 580, or 1x 1060? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 11:27 PM PST Ethereum mining. These are the only cards in stock:
Motherboard has one 16X slot and one 1x slot. Riser is $7.5 Budget is ~$375. I'm leaning towards the 1050 Tis. Which to buy and why? [link] [comments]
Aren't using vga cable splitters a hazard? Posted: 04 Jan 2018 11:24 PM PST I am really confused on 8 pin vga cable splitters. If a 8 pin cable splits into a 8 + 6 pin connector does it still give the same 150w a single 8 pin would give? A 1080ti takes 250w so splitting the cable wouldn't give enough power. Even if it drew power from the riser it couldn't draw 100w??? [link] [comments] |
