What does it mean that banks use Ripple?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 03:39 PM PST

I see a lot of banks joining Ripple to make transactions between themselves. But they're using fiat currency. How does this work, what is it the banks do exactly and how do they use Ripple to do it?

People hate my holdings of xrp

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 08:55 AM PST

Now buying most of shares around that 19 and 18 cents mark I've made a pretty penny, but with that out of the way. I posted what I was holding yesterday on /r/cryptocurrency and telling me my portfolio was a joke due to the amount of xrp holdings I have. I don't see why ppl hate banks cause in the end money is overall safer in the bank and is backed by the United States after the Great Depression. But I think ppl miss understand that ripple is trying to fix the banking problems in which gives ppl the reason to hate them. I'm sorry that I believe in ripple and the technology behind them, but it's only matter of time till it's full use case is out there in full force

Can anyone give a straight answer?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 08:12 PM PST

It took me couple weeks to figure out exactly XRP business plan and I am impressed. The only thing I can't figure out is what is going on with the price? I mean it just doesn't make a lick of sense. I get that the market is increasing seeing daily trades in 20 mil + range thats good and the price has gone up. But I mean all that news all this money being poured into Crypto Right now XLM soaring I mean even if you crunched all the numbers the regular 5x amount of money transferred day the price still just floats around. There has been some seriouse news of late and everyone is saying you just wait. Oh I will wait but WTF what gets to me it just doesn't add up, Something is up, If XRP falls back to 19 when bitcoin and all other cryptos fall back. Thats just harsh I mean you can say x months ago it was .15 but come on that was before, Swell, American Express, 100 million hedge fund. You think this would be enough to see it break .30. So can anyone give me a straight answer is XRP being manipulated? And if so WTF is going on.

I believe in XRP and everyone around me loves the concept and wants to invest. I'd like to make a XRP atm at a local business here or any simple way to for people to buy XRP quickly and easily. Where would you start? This is in Louisiana.

Hey All, at what price are you going or planning to buy xrp's ?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 01:01 PM PST

I'm planning to spend around 5-10% of my monthly paycheck into xrp till it reaches 0.5 USD.

After that, I'll hold it for about 3-5 years then see what the price is at that time.

    Xrp Price Question

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 01:49 PM PST

Hi I'm new at xrp and xlm. I'm wondering some blog say btc can go $110k but some people says ripple can't over 3-5$ cause of total supply and market cap but. If bitcoin can go 110k lets say 100k$ xrp can hit 20-25$ with 99billion total supply and total xrp getting down getting 20-25$ should not be problem I think and XLM can hit 20-25$ cause of same total supply. I'm holder xrp and xlm. Please someone light me. Sorry for my english

Thoughts - a Ripple commercial during the Super Bowl LII, do you think this would align with the current strategy or do you think this would be non-beneficial to the organization?

My Ripple hasn't shown up in my wallet and it has been over 24 hours.

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 09:35 PM PST

Yesterday I withdrew ripple from bittrex to put into my wallet. It still has not shown up in my wallet yet. I triple checked and the address it sent to on bittrex matches my wallet address

Opinion of price effects of XRP of the lock up?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 05:42 PM PST

First, I am a firm believer in patience and HODLing for XRP. However, I'm curious what the consensus is on the effect of lock up officially happening. If it's generally believed that the price will jump, I rather buy more than I was planning on this month (I budget a small amount of money each month to buy XRP with). I know we aren't fortune tellers here, just curious to what this subs opinion is.

**Moderators*** Regarding a purchasing tutorial post.

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 12:15 AM PST

I am currently in the process of making screen captured videos/tutorials for the many different exchanges out there. It is strictly how to set up an account, purchase, and navigate on these sites. If I were to continue to make these videos would this be a post that we could pin for those new to this thread so we can avoid the extra "how to buy XRP". The community is taking off which is only going to bring more newcomers in. -Thank you

Best storage for the long term

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 08:35 PM PST

Hey guys, sorry if this has been answered before but new to reddit and crypto in general. Looming to buy some xrp and plan on holding it for the long term.

Hoping for some pointers on best place to buy/store for this. Have no interesting in selling in the short term for quick profit or whatever.

Would say 3 years minimum unless it explodes in that time. Looking to invest like £500 initially then will top up on a monthly basis up to a certain price

Any recommendation for a good simple Ripple online wallet?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 12:40 PM PST

Does anyone know if XRP is actively used by any banks as a form of day to day payment? So far I can only see that some banks are using it but only for trials and testing.

Do you get a better conversion buying xrp from btc rather than usd?

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 07:47 PM PST

I'm looking to put a few thousand into xrp. I'm considering using either bitstamp or kraken. Not sure if I'm reading these conversions wrong but it looks like the cost of xrp is ~0.36 if I go through USD, but ~0.24 if I go USD -> BTC -> XRP. Is there a preferred site that doesn't make me go through btc?

New to XRP as well as cryptocurrency and have a few questions.

    Posted: 03 Dec 2017 05:55 PM PST

Hey all! I have been following and studying different cryptocurrencies for a while now and have decided that it's time i take the dive and start investing! I'm looking to start my protfolio with XRP but i had a couple of questions before i begin. One, which exchange would people recommend using for someone from the United States and is new to crypto exchanges? Two, i recently purchased a hardware wallet (Ledger nano s) it's currently still in transit, but i wanted to purchase some XRP prior to it arriving, how would i go about purchasing them then transferring them to the hardware (if this question is answered in the handbook for the hardware i apologize ahead of time)?
