Should I stay with a single algorithm or auto-switch to the most profitable one? Posted: 20 Dec 2017 01:31 AM PST I just started mining on zpool with Awesome Miner, on the Neoscrypt Algorithm. I've seen comments on staying on a single algorithm since zpool is PPLNS(?) and so one should stick to one algorithm to get the most profit, but sometimes I see other algorithms going at twice the profit than that of Neoscrypt. If it is better to mine multi algorithms, what is a good profit threshold and auto switch time to set on Awesome Miner? [link] [comments]
ASUS Z270P - No GPUs recognised using PCI Risers Posted: 20 Dec 2017 06:07 AM PST Hi all. Update: one was suddenly recognised, so I am installing Geforce drivers and hoping that will help! I've had a rough 48 hours, replaced my SSD and have faulty RAM, but finally got the rig working and a clean Windows 10 installed. I am not having issues with the GPUs not being recognised, there is power to the GPUs as they are lit up. I have 5 1080TIs, powered by the blue USB going to a riser and being inserted directly into the PCI express slots on the motherboard. I've noticed a lot of people using the m2 but I don't have those so I am using these other ones. Any idea what I need to do? [link] [comments]
Artifacting GPU when in 16x Slot - AMD Vega 64 Posted: 20 Dec 2017 06:00 AM PST Hi Guys, So I posted a couple of days ago now about my miner artifacting when I added more than 5 GPUs. I was told I needed more power which I definitely did. I got a new 1200W PSU and im still having the same error but it still only seems to be when I use the PCI 16x slot. I have tried using a 16x ribbon and a 1x riser and no luck with both. however the 1x riser is a instant crash and the 16x ribbon is a slow crash (20 seconds? artifacting). So im very confused now on how I can get this to work? so do I just need to admit defeat haha and stick with 5 cards? or does anyone know why this is happening? Two Vega 64's only earning $7 a day total.. Help me please Posted: 20 Dec 2017 07:44 AM PST I've been running since the day NiceHash collapsed.
I have tried 24/72 hours runs with: Claymore Nanopool/ETH ~$7/24hrs
Not sure what I am doing wrong. I am running:-Fresh Windows 10 x64 build -8GB RAM -16GB vRAM -AMD Blockchain Drivers -Overclocked memory with AMD Settings 100% fan power (electricity and heat is no problem for me) I've looked at WhatToMine which suggests $13 a day with XMR but I am getting no where near that. My friend is getting $7 a day with ETH on Nanopool with one Vega 64. [link] [comments]
MSI Afterburner-Different OC for each card, how to save profile? Posted: 20 Dec 2017 07:38 AM PST Hey All, I am messing with my OC settings for my 6x 1080ti's in afterburner. I would like to use different settings for each card and be able to save them with one profile, and have it start on boot. When I change each setting and try to save the profile, it only saves the changes I made to one card. Can you help me figure this out? Bonus- OC settings for EVGA SC Black? [link] [comments]
Where can I get a 2400 watt PSU and breakout board? Posted: 20 Dec 2017 07:04 AM PST Hey all. I have everything I need for my next build... except the PSU. Parallel miner has been out of stock for weeks, on basically everything... PSU, cables, frames, etc. so I'm getting desperate. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Do you guys check your psu capacitors? Posted: 20 Dec 2017 03:12 AM PST I have noticed that no matter how good the psu is after one or 2 years the capacitors start to swell and its time for changing. Nothing will happen it you dont but its better to have smooth power... [link] [comments]

Awesome Miner appending c=LTC rather than c=BTC for zPool etc payout currency Posted: 20 Dec 2017 06:38 AM PST Perhaps a noob question but this has been driving me nuts and I've been searching for an answer for days, perhaps I'm not putting the right search terms into Google.... I know for Zpool etc, I need to append c=LTC to the ccminer etc command, to set the payout currency to Litecoin. I can't for the life of me figure out where to set this within Awesome Miner. I've tried using an LTC payout address for Online Services / Managed Profit switching. Tried adding it with program specific commands, anywhere I can find. At one point, I managed to get Zpool to start mining Lanacoin with a big red warning about how they'll never pay it out due to low stocks etc, but that's it. In a recent update, AwesomeMiner added an option to append c=BTC to Zpool etc commands, so that they'd always payout to BTC. This was a simple checkbox though, with no option to set c=LTC. Can someone please put me out of my misery and tell me how to set Zpool payout to c=LTC in Awesome Miner? Thanks [link] [comments]
Where to get 6pin -> 2x6pin PSU cables? Posted: 20 Dec 2017 02:31 AM PST Quick question. EVGA PSUs have a lot of 6pin perif. outputs. For the sake of safety I would actually like to a 6pin->2x6pin cable to connect risers. Is the EVGA 6pin on the PSU some sort of standard to use some standard cables or where can one get such a cable? [link] [comments]

Core Clock vs Memory Clock ZCash Posted: 20 Dec 2017 01:10 AM PST Hello everyone! I've a question about core Clock vs Memory Clock on mining Zcash... i've a xfx R9 280 Double Dissipation, im stock mode, i'm getting around 260/270 H/s.... But The temperature goes around 80C... i'm looking to keep it cool.. and preserve my energy use... Then i've decreased the memory clock to the ground, and the Power Limit to -20.. And the H/s Are on 220 H/s... In doing so, am I saving energy ?? Is it okay to do this? Thanks! (Mining on FlyPool) [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Dec 2017 10:46 PM PST With 2x 1070 SC palgin gives me a clear 10mh improvement (72->82). But tpruvot reports ~70 at the node status page, where palgin only shows around 30. (vtc local p2pool node, nothing changes on the node, just a switch of miners) So does the extra 10mh actually count for anything? Or am I losing 40? [link] [comments]
Troubleshooting Kernal 41 errors after new PSU. Posted: 20 Dec 2017 04:29 AM PST Been getting Kernal 41 errors since I started mining roughly one month ago. Replaced my tx650 with RM850. Woke up to a freshly booted pc before work, so just shut it down for the day. Build I74790k@stock 1080ti@stock 16gbddr3 All temps are great, plenty of fans in case. I ran memory test and passed also. I installed all motherboard drivers and updated windows. I do have a lot of usb cards mainly for oculus, throttles, pedals, controllers etc. Could this be a issue ? Maybe disable them? I'm using one click miner and sometimes can go 5 days without an error and sometimes hours. Thought new psu would work. Still going to keep the new psu regardless. [link] [comments]
Is there a good way to prevent static electricity when building/running a rig? Posted: 20 Dec 2017 04:13 AM PST Hey everyone, all my parts have been delivered and i'm building a rig with 6 1070s and using this to house it all: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Hyper-Tough-3-Tier-Rack-Black/143377471 Does anyone have any tips to reducing static electricity? I'm building in an older house that has carpeting and in the winter seems to attract static electricity like bees to honey. Would something like this be of value? http://www.americanfloormats.com/electrosoft-static-dissipative-mats/?gclid=CjwKCAiAsejRBRB3EiwAZft7sE2Hhi2WtlKOwAH8RTBkYyNkpVzSytQ_hEn01HU1SkG7mcvOkJzUrBoCy_cQAvD_BwE Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 4x GTX 1070 rig cannot mine zcash on MPH+awesomeminer? Posted: 19 Dec 2017 08:04 PM PST Hello, Rig: TB250 BTC, 4x GTX1070 gigabyte, 1000W PSU EVGA Gold, Windows 10, Mint Cell 008 risers. No overclock havent downloaded afterburner I had one gtx1070 plugged directly into the PCI express. I was able to load bios, boot windows, download driver and start mining on awesome miner. When i started mining with just the one card it was mining Zcash or equihash as most profitable. Now when i plug in all of my gpus and i start mining zcash equihash launches the dialog screen but then it says no GPU CARD found. However, if i leave my algo to just mine ethereum then all 4 cards mine it but its the not most efficient. [link] [comments]
Looking for alternatives to M.2 port to PCIE Posted: 19 Dec 2017 06:32 PM PST these things seems like are all hand soldered with horrible quality control. Anything else we can use to stack more GPUs? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Dec 2017 11:23 PM PST i have an old asus direct cu II gtx 660 2gb laying around wondering if I can slap it into my single gpu (gtx 970) rig and earn a little extra. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121660 I tried running it with the gtx 970 but got errors a few minutes into the mining and am thinking it cant mine the same algorithms as the 970 [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Dec 2017 10:28 PM PST Hello all, I have enough spare parts to build another system but it's an AM4 board and R3 1200. I'm just missing memory. Figured I mind as well put this together otherwise I'd get a celeron system. My question is Is 4gb DDR4 enough to mine on windows 10? (using awesomeminer) and Do i need two separate sticks or technically should I be able to use one 4gb stick. If it matters at all the motherboard is a Gigabyte AX370 K3 Gaming 1. Thank you! What driver to install when you have both nvdia and amd card in same rig? Posted: 20 Dec 2017 01:09 AM PST I have one rx480 and one gtx1060 3gb. I decided to put them in the same computer to mine. What driver should I install? [link] [comments]
Posted: 19 Dec 2017 12:29 PM PST With my first few video cards I kept my boxes but after a few they are starting to pile up. I'm just trying to see if there is a reason to keep them or if throwing them away would be fine. Mainly thinking for resale or maybe warranty would require me to keep them. Thoughts? 1060 6GB GPUs at different Hash rates Posted: 19 Dec 2017 07:19 PM PST I've been mining a couple days now and have noticed that a couple GPUs are running slower then the others, I expect some difference, it just seems more varied then I expected. I've experimented a little bit with overclocking, but only small changes. Any suggestions of things I should test or check, all connections look fully seated. Thanks. What's your miner management fee? Posted: 19 Dec 2017 11:03 PM PST So your hypothetical buddy realizes the opportunities in GPU mining. He has plenty of cash but doesn't really know much about PCs or have the space. You already hypothetically have a 6 GPU rig which has been preforming well and they want in. He/she wants to pay for a mining rig and asked you to host and run it. You've got plenty of space. What and how would you charge them? [link] [comments]
