I have 80% invested in this altcoin, but it keeps on going down should I sell? Posted: 01 Dec 2017 02:43 PM PST I have about 80% invested in this alt, and it is the worse performing coin in my portfolio. The problem is, I even get paid with this coin. Should I sell my Dollars? Why I think ARK will be a winner in 2018. Posted: 01 Dec 2017 11:31 PM PST Fall 2017 the ARK team and community developers have done a spectacular job at furthering the development. We now have Smartbridges to ETH and BTC, an unique business entity and many more technical advancements. All this while still making things very user friendly. Upcoming developments include: mobile wallets (98% ready), ARK VM (55% ready), Push putton blockchain (53% ready) and ARK Core 2.0 (25% ready). Needless to say Q1 2018 will be very exciting. The elephant in the room is the price performance from past two months. ARK was in a bullish trend until a series of unfortunate events happened. China banning Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Gold and 2X forks which hurt the whole altcoin markets. After the dust settled the price didn't start to increase past certain point and people (me including) started to wonder and get angry even why the price isn't taking off. First of all markets are irrational. Markets go up when people think if they don't invest right away they miss the train (FOMO). For this to happen there needs to be a catalyst and when that happens trend will turn very fast. The biggest catalyst are partnerships. As ARK now has a business entity formed they can start forming official partnerships. The best thing about them is that unlike tech development these come completely unannounced and if you are not invested before that happens you're going to be late from the party. However many projects usually dump after the initial pump because they can't keep up with the tech development. Since ARK has exceptionally strong tech fundamentals that won't be the case and I believe we are one partnership announcement away from the next ride up. Lastly many of you surely have noticed the cycle of trends. One month privacy coins are super hot, next month ASIC resistant coins etc. I believe it will soon be the turn of coins like ARK that connect blockchains together. The push button blockchain will enable different projects to create public or private blockchains super easily. I'm sure there will be many projects and entities joining the ecosystem then. From price point of view I believe it will start growing well before that in anticipation. [link] [comments]
Hello guys. I have lost $30k in IOTA and I would like to know what has happened. Please help me. Posted: 01 Dec 2017 09:37 AM PST Hey guys, im having a pretty bad day over here. months ago i bought IOTA from bitfinex and transferred them to my wallet. weeks after that i wanted to sell the IOTA on bitfinex again, so i transferred the IOTA back to bitfinex and sold them. after that i didnt own IOTA for a couple of months. a week ago i bought IOTA on bitfinex again. I downloaded the newest wallet version, and logged in with my seed. then i sent a test tx of 15 IOTA from bitfinex to the address which was shown in the 'Receive' tab of my wallet. The 15 IOTA arrived in my wallet. a week later i sent 23.4 GI from bitfinex to the address in the 'Receive' tab of my wallet. it has apparently arrived in my wallet, and then left my wallet again with an outgoing tx, around four hours later. the 15 IOTA are still in my wallet. screenshot of the txs: https://imgur.com/a/uZAf3 for the 15 IOTA tx this was the address shown in my 'Receive' tab, the 15 IOTA are there: https://iotasear.ch/address/YBTKLLRNDOBYVEQQOWVDAMP9CKVKNR9JTUGTRDIZWOTKXGGWHHUTTJXMZKCJZDFSAELDBZOPHQLGUYXW9VVHAYBYRX a week later i sent the 23 GI to this address, shown in my 'Receive' tab: https://iotasear.ch/address/XTUYYPRVJIMEM9ERPF9CINWXWCOLKEQ9HKCXCYIBECXEMDEZIGVBXRRISKGBGITBQLPWTOJENAUQZKMJWUIR9RHQXC the 23 GI were sent to this address just hours after arriving in my wallet : https://iotasear.ch/address/ZFTKVOUDHGHUHAP9ZFIJKQTSPZHCWAOIPIUUUEKCCATSNTHSMAEYWWOJBANMEYXFHMYJATMDYYYJNAPZW
Edit: I would like to thank everyone who has engaged in this discussion constructively. It appears to me that the fault was 100% mine. I do not have any hopes of getting the money back anymore. Its just money anyway. At the same time i have to acknowledge that i can imagine thousands of unfortunate events when it comes to snapshots and transactions during or right after them. Its incredible to me how awful the user experience of this wallet is. I want to add, believe it or not, that i am still a big fan of IOTA and i am convinced that these issues will be sorted out soon, obviously not soon enough. Thanks guys, have a good one. This post needs more attention and is a reason IOTA could be a ticking time bomb Posted: 01 Dec 2017 11:28 AM PST /u/guselbindel lost $30k because he reused an address, but his post is being downvoted, so it can't see the light of day: One of the responses:
Reusing receiving addresses is pretty standard in the rest of cryptocurrency, if doing so can cause you to lose your IOTA, the official wallet shouldn't allow it People wondered why the mods tried auto-warnings for IOTA posts, but when posts like this are buried there is a clear brigading/manipulation problem. I'm not saying don't buy IOTA as a hedge against blockchain investments, but be careful with your funds and know there are serious issues with the tech right now. Edit: note that top voted comment suggests this isn't an issue at all LOL, nice job IOTA community. [link] [comments]
