Bitcoin 2.0 (Bitcoin Cash) is ready for World Adoption

    Posted: 14 Dec 2017 09:17 PM PST

Bitcoin 2.0 was successfully launched on August 1, 2017. While it is called Bitcoin Cash within the community, it should be noted that it is a major upgrade. This upgrade was needed to fix the excessive fees and the transaction backlogs that were accumulating with heavy adoption. Bitcoin 2.0 had a minor bug in the difficulty adjustment algorithms, but this bug has been successfully fixed. Bitcoin 2.0 is currently running smoothly and ready for world adoption.

'We ATM operators are where the rubber meets the road with new users and I increasingly find my days filled with explaining to angry customers why $15 (in addition to normal commissions) instantly goes up in smoke just by making a purchase. This is not sustainable.'

Why large blocks: because one man's "coffee purchase transaction" is another man's monthly income

    Posted: 14 Dec 2017 08:20 AM PST

one man's "coffee purchase transaction" is another man's monthly income

    - some dude on the internet

The first guy, honestly, I don't really care much about. That guy lives in a nice neighborhood in a 1st world country and is already surrounded by payment methods and banking options. He pays in a relatively stable fiat. He has never had his bank account "bailed in" (confiscated).

The second guy, the guy whose monthly income "looks like a coffee transaction" on the blockchain -- that guy desperately needs what we have: an alternative to his fiat currency and a way to plug into the global digital economy.

That's the guy I care about.

Back in 2013 we were all about "banking the unbanked" and bringing a billion formerly-unserved people onboard the digital economy. That's a use-case that I can feel really good about.

But: to participate in Bitcoin requires you to have your coins in a wallet you control. (Even with Lightning Network.)

To have coins in a wallet you control requires you to make an onchain tranaction. (Even with Lightning Network.)

By placing a hard limit on the number of onchain transactions permitted, the block size limit is quite literally a new user onboarding rate limiter that prevents global adoption and raises the price to participate out of the reach of the unbanked billions.

That is not the coin I signed up for, and it has been very distressing to watch Bitcoin's original mission and value proposition (a new global M1) get watered down into "digital settlement metal to power a new generation of cryptobanks." I'm sure there's a need among the new generation of cryptobanks for a digital settlement metal, but that's not an interesting use case for me. I like the original "global M1" use case much better and it's been disappointing to see the Bitcoin project get so far off track from what it once was.

I very grateful that I again can hold the Bitcoin with the original mission, scaling plan, and value proposition - something I can stand behind with conviction. I feel really good about what we're doing here. It's like the old days again.

I come from /r/bitcoin. Can someone enlighten me why Bitcoin Cash it is?

    Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:33 PM PST

    Hello everyone,

I've been interested in cryptocurrencies since a couple of years now, but I never went learning about it. Since a short time I read the posts on /r/bitcoin everyday but I started to notice something.

This sub was mentioned and people called it altcoin scam and what more. But I became interested and actually saw that real questions were asked here, and real discussions were taken place here. To me, /r/bitcoin looks like some Bitcoin propaganda compared to here.

But now: why is Bitcoin Cash the bomb? What makes it better than normal Bitcoin? And: do you expect the value of Bitcoin Cash rise more than BTC?

I'm launching a better NiceHash next week! Do we call it BCC or BCH? HALP!

    Posted: 14 Dec 2017 03:58 PM PST

    Hey guys,

Marshall Long here. As a long time miner (since 2010) I saw the nicehash news and was gutted. They actually tried buying a project of mine formerly known as betarigs which I bought from the original creator. We are spinning it back up as we speak and will launch a closed beta next week.

With that being said, a few things. Firstly, no way in hell are we out of the gate going to accept BCore. Fees make it not FEEsable for small time guys to get payouts. Maybe we will add it later but for now just straight bitcoin cash.

But the devs asked a good question. Do we call it BCC? BCH? What? I honestly don't know. I assume we just go with what /u/memorydealers thinks is good but I wanted input here.

TL;DR: Making a nicehash replacement next week launch. Do we call it BCH or BCC for payouts and payments?

Last night's stream between Richard Heart and Tone Vays; In case you missed it...

    Posted: 14 Dec 2017 11:18 PM PST

quick recap: Both mutually agreed that Core supporters can not win a debate with Roger Ver so Tone Vays came up with the following hilarious (read: pathetic) proposal:

''Dont talk to Roger Ver any more, and if we debate him, make sure we can mute his mic and censor him once he starts making too much sense again''

I thought Bitcoin Cash was the fraud

    Posted: 14 Dec 2017 04:26 AM PST

I've slowly been getting into Bitcoin and all the other altcoins. I used to blow off Bitcoin Cash as some "dumb fork". But now after doing some research especially on the Lighting Network, I'm realizing Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin.

The Lighting Network is a joke and not a solution at all. It's a gift card network! Plus, it overcomplicates things instead of making it better. I don't understand why people are for it? The worst part of the Lighting Network is that you still have to close the channel which still has the Bitcoin fees, you're back to square one. How did this idea pass?

Bitcoin Cash is actually useful and cheap to send. It's the real Bitcoin and the other one has become this slow Frankenstein Monster that eats your money.
